I remember back in 2008-2009 when people bitched about the skits in the episodes and wanted just straight up reviews lol. I never understood that, clearly you guys stepped it up big time and made the videos 50X more entertaining so I'm glad you went in that direction. I think everyone is happy with it now, 10 years ago was a different time obviously.

Really, people complained about the skits? If anything, they're usually some of the best parts of Nerd episodes. They really allow James to shine as an actor...

Well, he is the co-funder of Cinemassacre after all.
In fact, he's the one who persuaded James to upload the "Simon's Quest" review on CZcams, back in the day.
In the early days, Mike hand drew all the artwork as well for each openning episode. Both are extremely talented people.

Fantastic video. Outstanding work, James and Mike. Your hard work definitely paid off. The AVGN episodes were always some of my favorite content.
I'll always be amazed by how hard James works on these videos, and how much time and effort he puts into all of his projects. I look up to him in that way, and I hope some day I can have as good of a work ethic as he does. That's not to say I don't appreciate Mike or anyone else associated with Cinemassacre. Without people like Mike and Kyle, the AVGN wouldn't be the same.

I agree with Cinos the Dense potato , There are episode that have sexual jokes. Should I mention a chunk of the episodes has things that would scar a kid for a long time?
Yes, as the dense potato said, you basically shouldn't parent your kids at all. If they want to do crack, it's obvious that not allowing them to do it is just going to increase their desire to do it. Therefore, the most logical route is to preemptively give them all the crack they can consume and encourage them to consume more and more of it. This is a good parenting strategy.
That being said, it is stupid to allow your children to watch something that you normally wouldn't allow them to. It depends on the age of your children, but nerd is best enjoyed when you're not a child.

I knew that it's difficult to do an AVGN episode but I didn't think it was that hard and long. All I can say is thank you guys for taking all this time and put all your best in each episode, just for us fans. Thank you James, Mike and Kyle. And Cinemassacre of course.

I even have the Captain S Christmas Special with you. For over 10 years, I have never missed a Nerd episode. I don't know how you do itm especially with you being a dad now. I believe that your videos will forever stand the test of time. I even have your movie which I consider as one of my favorite movies of all time. I'm a fan for life because of how wonderful and hilarious you are. I have binged watched all your episodes over and over again. Thank you for always being you!
I always love catching little bits of your personalities. I like how Mike described that moment of genuine self-disappointment regarding the wall crashing scene, for instance. It just makes me hope that I, too, could someday have him as an actor in one of my productions!

The secret in my opinion to why the AVGN series is so addicting and enjoyable to watch, at least for me, is that James managed to create, in such a small space, an imaginary world, a fantasy, I like to call it the Retro World, so even if you have already watched the episodes before, you want to come back, not just for the reviews or the comedy, but to revisit the universe that is Retro World.
People honestly don't understand how much time and energy you throw into these videos...you give your all.
James, Mike, seriously thank you so much for all the work you do to entertain us with your great videos from AVGN, Board James, Monster Madness, and others. It really means a lot, no bullshit. To still be doing this and putting passion into it is incredible.

This is a great behind the scenes video. I love James' passion and his preference for using practical effects over CGI or similar whenever possible. I guessed the Mega Man episode took a lot of work to do, but the attention to detail you put in was amazing. Excellent work!

This is an awesome blend of James and Mike commentating back and forth on older episodes. We get the full perspective from all cast and crew...which has always been the Nerd motif just like he shows in his movie reviews.

You are completely correct on the episodes that you had to do quicker that feel a little formulaic rather than original.

He could do it in the style of his X-Men or Silver Surfer episodes, basically chronicling his failure to get anywhere in the game.
