    I am using Ram mount X-grip and 6ft Anker Powerline USB-C to lighting cable. You will also need some zip ties. Pretty easy install and I hope the video helps. Please feel free to comment me any questions.

    I watched her engine guard review and was very impressed with the amount of detail in each step which is absolutely critical for a step-by-step video. I subscribe to your channel because I just recently bought a 21 rebel 1100 and you’ve got multiple items that I’m interested in putting on my own bike, plus you really seem to know what you’re doing LOL. I am the least mechanically inclined individual on the planet I think.

    Hey at 2:55 can you make a detailed video on how to get the zip tie in the hole? I’ve been having trouble with that.

      Sorry i did skip that part by accident. If you have a hard time with the zip tie area, use a flat head screw driver or anything that can hook the the end of the zip tie back to you. Hope that helps.

    My girlfriend just a Rebel 1100 and the battery tender cable wasn't installed. Is the port shown in your video the where the battery tender cables needs to be plugged into?

    • @MacrossGarage
      @MacrossGarage  Před 2 lety +1

      That port is the USB-C port. Its used to charge things. Battery Tenders are usually connected to the battery. Check out my other video for adding a battery connection for a tender.

    Cable and X Mount? I have one on mine that has wireless charging and uses a thumb screw to hold it, and feels much more secure... still hooks on a ram mount ball.

      Nice set up. I would like to see it if you have any product links. Wireless charging sometimes is not enough power in my experience, it charges too slow. One other thing I dont like is mounts that require you to stick something on you phone.

      @@MacrossGarage I use this one... keeps my iPhone 100% even on long trips with max brightness. I use it on its side, and not straight up like in the pictures, which works fine too. If you wire it directly to your battery you'll need to use its on/off switch. I wired mine in so it only has power when the key is turned on. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08C7WKNNN

      @@MissyMalaprop That is a nice option. Does it take power when not in use? why do you need to have a switch?

    • @MissyMalaprop
      @MissyMalaprop Před 3 lety +1

      @@MacrossGarage if you hook it directly to the battery, they say to turn it off so it won't cause any battery drain, so I am assuming it can take some. I did not do that with mine, I hooked it up with a lot of LED lights I added in a circuit that only gets power when the key is on, so mine turns off with the key.

    What happens if the micro usb that connects to the iPhone gets wet with rain. I ask because it is connected to the power. No safety concerns?

      @@roberthiers5606 sometimes iPhones do not work if the cable is not an apple product, but you just need to simply unplug the cable from the power source and try again. Also are you sure the bike is on when you plug it in? Are you getting any error message on the phone?

      @@MacrossGarage I have the same set up as the video. I have tried different phones and yes the bike was running. The set up worked before I installed the cable. . I was thinking about taking the bike to the shop and borrow one of their cables. If it still does not work it has to be the USB port.?

    • @MacrossGarage
      @MacrossGarage  Před 2 lety

      If another cable doesn’t work then yes maybe it’s the port. Make sure the cable is in the port. The water proof rubber protection sometimes gets in the way.
