I thought to myself, what a great idea to just have a little already made up notebook, I realized, I didn't have to construct a journal from scratch, isn't that funny?! I always look forward and appreciate your process videos. This one was especially add a perfect time for me. I had PT on Wednesday and I am all taped up now. And trying to rest to help the inflammation heal. Such a long journey. But I have hope now. Today is my daughter's 61st birthday and we are going to her house for dinner. I made her a beautiful card and I'm giving her my travel jewelry holder. She's going on a trip and I thought she could use it. Fawn is spot on for Cornbread. Usually the muffins are a sweet version, but original is plain and perhaps a tiny bit salty. Now, if you want a real yummy treat, use a bit less sugar next time and cook them as a pancake. Flapjacks, whatever. While hot, slather with butter and gobble them up. Thanks for sharing! ❤️
Janice, I am lovely experimenting with the corn, we made cornmeal porridge today, traditional Jamaican, cloves cinnamon and coconut milk a yummy breakfast. Sending love ❤️

Ripping paper is so soothing. It is also an important skill for preschoolers to develop their fine motor skills..... this means ripping paper is a wonderful activity for every age. Hello, Dear Janet. It's Saturday morning after a particularly tiring week. I so enjoyed our time together- almost a mini-vacation. You asked about substrates. These may be a bit odd, but I add them to my glue book. The drive-thru carwash holds down the rear window wiper with blue masking tape. I have completely filled a two page spread with the overlapping strips. And the coffee shop where I get my ice teas gives a little receipt with my name. I have completely plastered several spreads with those. I don't know what comes next with these pages, only that they are temporarily saved from the landfill. Happy weekend. Happy creating! 🥰🥰😀 🥰🥰

And "napkin mushroom"! My goodness... I had the same thing happen to me this afternoon. After work I had to pick up some meds from the vet for one of our cats. When I gave him his meds later this afternoon, I told my mom that "he's the easiest pat to kill"... 🤣(huh?) I meant to say "he's the easiest cat to pill"! He is very easy to give medicine to. Anyway, I understand. Words either come out wrong or they don't come at all or they all try to come out all at the same time. 💕
Also, the azaleas are gorgeous. They are azaleas, right? Our azaleas have come and gone. Now we have gardenia blooming and the smell is glorious.
I loved getting a closer look at your art supply tins and how they were attached. I assumed they were attached by strong magnets. Very cool idea!
And now, cornbread. I'm in the South and my family doesn't put sugar in our cornbread. I loved the question marks by the sugar in the recipe. We rarely make cornbread anymore, but when we do we make skillet cornbread. We put bacon grease in the skillet and pop it in the oven while it's preheating. Then when the oven is ready, the grease is hot and it makes this wonderful sizzling sound as you pour the batter into the skillet and it makes a yummy crust. I guess cornbread is like art - there is no right or wrong way and everyone does it differently...It's all preference.:)

My father and his brother owned a bakery. My uncles corn muffins were famous. One day he told me the secret. He used half corn muffin batter and half yellow cake batter!!! The secret's out! I have tow quotes.... the first is about healing. "Healing yourself is connected with healing others" Yoko Ono. The other is from my friend Ellen who passed away 3 years ago. She said "It's a good thing someone invented the word muffin or we'd be eating cake for breakfast!" Hugs 💓

Being from the Deep South. Cornbread (muffins included). here are our secrets to the best! A pinch of sugar into the mix, put the cast iron (which is the HUGE must) in a hot oven with some oil of about 1/3 cup and remove when REALLY hot. Pour the oil into the corn meal and mix it all up and bake at 375 until nice and brown. The edges, top and bottom will be nice and crusty. Serve with butter and Lima beans. ❤ a true Cajun style.
