Wholesome cosy times after the 5.35pm Neighbours repeat episode was scrapped...when Philip Schofield was a broom cupboard continuity announcer and school mistress Angela Rippon was a quizshow host you wouldn't want to mess with!
@@ziggydamaestro Correct, but also worth noting that the "Broom Cupboard" was also one of the Continuity Studios outside of CBBC, so linking into Masterteam/Neighbours made sense.

Lovely to see this again. I loved this show when it was new.
Used to love watching this & I was really sorry when it was dumped in favour of Neighbours.
These people actually knew a lot of general knowledge. Guarantee a team of similar age today wouldn't come close.

No, this was before the introduction of the Neighbours repeat episode
Um, the repeat Neighbours episode was shown on early mornings back then. The 5:35 episode was only scrapped on the BBC when it stopped airing it.
If memory serves, this used to be on before CBBC, so Schofield probably had an early shift for some reason.

@@ziggydamaestro In Wales, this aired on BBC2 Wales at 8.30am
In the middle of the video is 'Fax' with Billy Butler asking the questions. That was on a different weekday on BBC1 but at the same time
i remembered a team called "the Stan Graham fan club" in this think they got to the semi final and Stan was in the audience for one of the games
18:22. Even he knew 'The Wank-Up Club' was not going to win him a point.
A few years later Angela hosted the short lived tennis quiz Matchpoint.

She must look back on this as the golden days, when she sees some of the inane questions she has to ask on The Wall now.
