- Using stamps on fabric is a great way to embellish your scraps and create a go-to stash for your slow stitching collages or scrapbooking & card making. In this video I'll show:
- the stamping process
- how to get those delicious torn edges
- layering different scraps (I'll be slow stitching and embroidering these in a future video, stay tuned)
I'm also showing some materials I like using and mention a couple of UK indie stamp shops that are my go-to places for high quality stamps. (Skull and Cross Buns & Little Stamp Store - both are on Etsy and also have standalone websites).

It says it’s permanent, so it should be ok. I have set it with a high iron on some of the stamped stitch squares I’ve added to a scraps quilt I’ve been hand quilting on and off since last year. Time will tell if the ink will be ok 🫣😁xx

What kind of fabric do you use to print?
Here I’m using a medium weight white linen, but the coarser the fabric texture the harder it is to get a good print impression.
I can recommend cotton fabrics to start with. This is so much fun, I hope you’ll have a go!

That's brilliant! It opens up a whole load of possibilities, doesn't it, to stamp with letters... 😍
I got this linen fabric from a local fabric shop probably 10 years ago or so (it's no longer there as it didn't survive the pandemic, sadly..). The linen was screen printed with lilac botanicals, but the dye wasn't fixed properly and washed out to some degree in the first wash. One side is white and the other has now got a very distressed, blotchy and pale lilac / lavender-y looking print on it. I can't even remember what I bought it for, but wasn't able to use it as I'd intended, so I've got a fair bit left. Are you looking for small pieces to stamp on or a larger piece? xx

Were the tea cups stamped or was that a printed fabric?
That was a printed fabric, but sadly the piece I have has no selvedge edge on it, so I don’t know who it’s by.. sorry!
