Splendid video. I'm a recently widowed elderly, Military Air Force Veteran with several disabilities and a new Harley Davidson Trike owner. Your video is a fountain of information for motorcycle owners/riders of my caliber need to absorb. Thank you
Thank you, Tall. Great advice. Some really good advice. If I might add something in place of a carrying a rag, is to carry a towel (old times riders always do), and a pack of wipes, 1st aid kit.
First aid kit, I should have included that.
Instead of carrying a towel, I carry an imitation shammy. It takes up a little less space, plus it has a plastic container for storage.
Thanks for the Mustard tip Tall! I don't drink alcoholic beverages but when I Jump outta bed with these excruciating pains of Cramped legs, I have a bottle of Jack Daniels Whiskey which kills cramps immediately by taking one shot! Now I don't need Jack! Just Mr. Mustard! Lol!!!
you might want to add a tire plug kit to that list, you can buy the jump starters with a small air pump
Really liked the mustard tip. 👍
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the video. As usual, your vids are well done and informative. I'd like to add 1 thing to you essentials... chap stick. People forget to protect their lips from wind burn.
Arriving at my buddy's house after a 36 hrs, 1600 mile trip, things were okay, until I laid down. Twenty-five minutes later, both calves starting cramping really bad. I was dehydrated. I chugged a couple 12 oz. bottles of Gatorade he had on hand and within minutes I was okay again. This Rider is spot-on with experiences and riders' tips. This is a very valuable channel for those planning long trips. For monitoring, I have map sharing with Google maps so family knows where I am.
Great video and great advice! One thing I would add - eye drops. Always in my bag of tricks for long or short distance riding!
Memphis is looking BEAUTIFUL sittin out in the sun. 😍💙
Of course the Street Glide always beautiful too, but that blue... 💙💙
& we can not forget the beautiful pup at the end. 😍🐶
Thank you
Have used the small packets of mustard when playing sports and they are really great for relieving cramps almost instantly. Nicest thing about it is those small packets don’t cost anything-just pick some up at your favorite fast food place on your next order. Great video.
What a great idea, I would prefer the small packs too...save space and free... I must spread the word to riding buddies about this, Thanks, Good channel and I subscribed too, just now
I listened to your video about things to carry on a long distance ride . I have been riding Harley’s since 2007 and no one has ever explained to me the things to carry on road trips. Thank you.
Pickle juice (too).👌🏾 I dont even like them BUT being an "active" person Ive come to learn how to ward off cramps. 👍🏾
Thank You for your Channel. Planning Road trip to Montana from Monterey Bay California this August for Wedding. Your Infor. Very helpful 👍
L&R BROTHER 🤟
I Ride 2019 Road Glide. At 75 Year's Young ., 🤟🏻
Thanks for the great tips. I will definitely use the mustard tip. Getting older so cramps are more common.
Yeah it’s some great tips there. I’ve been riding cross country for the last 14 years since my wife passed away. For example, last year I left Homosassa Florida and April 15. I went out to Lake Mead pulling my camper behind a bike I camped in Lake Mead, and then I went back to New York State with my other daughter, lives to spend the summer.
Thank's for all the great tips!
Great info. Thanks
Good stuff to know . Thanks 🙏🏾 TALL
Thanks man, good tips.
Just found your channel, I’m a pack rat on a tri-glide so I completely understand about carrying extras lol. Another trick on Zip Tye’s is you can put them around your tires in the snow for a bit of extra traction. They will break and you’ll ride out of them so carry plenty of them lol. Be safe
Thanks for the tip and thank you for watching

Thanks, Tall, great tips, especially about the jump start without removing the seat.
Wow 😳 such good information tall thank you my friend
Hey Tall, I travel with just about everything you mentioned. Great video!
All great tips.. very informative.. I just added a few things to my tour list.. thanks for sharing.
Great tips and video...
Thank you for making the point that while H-D specific, a lot of what you talked about can be applied to any given situation with any type of bike.
Great content and editing uncle Tall. Appreciate the advice
Just recently started watching your videos really enjoy the information that you're giving out I'm a relatively new Rider I've been riding for a couple of years I own a 2022 Street Glide with the 107 m appreciate what you doing keep up the good work looking forward to seeing more of your videos
Great information!
Thanks for the tips Tall. Right now I am just dreaming about taking road trips but this video should come up n handy if I ever do. Thanks again.
Thanks for all those wonderful tips they are truly helpful. I love the doggy pose at the end of the video.🐶🐶
Yo, great tips!! I took notes and hope to ride with you sometime!! Blessings, safety and fun riding!!
Thanks, Tall! These are all great things to have! Just be sure you have enough room for all these things, including all your personal necessities.
One thing i didn’t see mentioned and should be carried is a 1 gallon saddle bag gas can. Sometimes gas stations can be spread out miles in remote locations
Thanks!
Great info
Nice, great lessons learned. I carry pretty much most of the same things you spoke of except I really do need a jumper….but I did get a portable tire inflator so I guess its ok. 😂
Speaking of long rides, I rode out to the Hometown Rally in WI last year from MD and was fortunate enough to meet you. I’m making the trip again this year, will we be seeing you again?
👌🏾👌🏾great info. Tks.
Hey Tall A great video very Important information, thank you very much.
Good Info !!
I just watched that video on the pin code and did that yesterday 👍😎 good stuff
Great common sense advice there! One other thing that I carry is my stock shift linkage. The first thing I do when I purchase a bike is upgrade the shift linkage. I will then carry the stock ship linkage with me. Because it takes up very little room and invariably someone in your group somewhere along the line will have their's fail and with the simple tools that you can carry, it can be a pretty quick roadside fix. I also carry a tire plug kit. And small air pump so I can make it to a dealership to get another tire.
I have life 360 and that’s great unless you loose cell tower reception which happens more than you think. I also carry the Garmin 60i satellite phone. It never looses connection and my wife and loved ones I count on to track my progress as I venture across country. I highly recommend having a satellite phone. It keeps you connected anywhere on the planet!
Thank you sir, the more knowledge the better👍🏼🤙🏼💪🏼
I've been riding long distance for years.
Very good video. Lots of usable info.
Great tips; thank you. Mustard. Never thought of that. God bless!
Good Tips and Hacks, Thanks.
Totally agree with you tall !! Life 360 safety first my man !!
fantastic video Tall ! I thought i had it all but man, theres some nice addons there...
And another one! Great video just in time before I get my Pursuit as I plan on doing some touring when it comes. Hopefully it'll get here before September and I'll try to meet you person again in Ocean city Maryland if you go again.
You were talking about the night cramp when riding. I used to get them to so bad it kept me up all night and I would take the sleeves of pickle juice freezer pops not frozen work good also. But the best thing I have found is coconut water I have never had cramps again. Take one small bottle a day.
Just purchased the safety light. Thanks
Good Job!
Love it, good stuff.
By the way… a good cat riding, Army Veteran, on an epic road trip, good guy to sub with… Cage Free Moto
Great advice! Going from Central Cali to Seattle this week. Portable air compressor and rain gear awaiting pickup at Amazon drop box, need to pickup more tools and now(thanks Tall) I rethought wearing the Sedici Sistema Carbon II helmet with my Cardo packtalk slim vs the Shoeii RF-SR. Also gonna carry some oil since my 2014 leaks a lil.
Commenting for the algorithm. Love the content!
Great vid
Great tips. Just ordered the Custom Dynamics Safety Road Flare as well as the Redline Fuel System Cleanser. Also added a picture of my Tennessee drivers license to my phone. Speaking of phones I always carry a phone charger with me as well.
We use life 360 to track my kids as well! Great app to have for traveling for safety reasons as well like you stated! Im not into helmets much but bought one for my ride to Sturgis from Ohio. After this trip I do appreciate and see the benefits of wearing one for long trips! Its a must! I didnt feel as beat up and fatigued from the sun and wind. Great info here, great video
Great video. The limp mode idea will be golden. Heading to Laconia Friday from Va.
Very educational for a beginner rider
Thanks Tall for info. Hey tall any camping videos with the new camper loved to see some.
and tent camping
Great video. Earned a sub. Going to start taking some trips and this video helped give me some ideas.
Awesome advice bro great job love from Miami FL USA 🇺🇸🤟
This is a great channel. I don't have a Harley yet but this channel is getting me excited to keep saving and get one this summer..
Yessir that mustard is great ! My boy's use it in their gym bags for basketball 🏀 cramps takes care of it right away great tip.
Good tips
Thank you for the tips. I get cramps frequently - gotta try the mustard solution next time. Didn't know about that one.
Thank you! On hot days we freeze our water bottles and have cold water. I like and never heard of the mustard trick, but it is something I am going to try to remember when winter mellows out here.
I love your videos brother.
THANKS FOR THE PRODUCTS LIST… I MADE THE SAME PURCHASES
You had me with the cramps and mustard!! Very painful at night and mustard is my first choice. thanks for the video and very extensive and great ideas. thanks again.
Nice 👍🏼 quick jump start w/o battery access
Great video. On a long trip I keep a hydration pack filled with ice.
Great vid Tall! John Maxwell has a vid on how to find your service code. My bike went into limp mode, I found my code, called my mechanic & he told me to do what you said in the video!
Also carry batteries for your key fob. Could be a simple & cheap fix if your bike won’t start. I change my fob battery every spring.🤙
You did great on your trip and you had me cracking up. And yes, Texas is like all 5 states combined. It takes a full day to get through it.
Some great ideas, I must share with Riding Partners, you have a good presentation, I LIKED the video and I subscribed to your channel. I am looking forward to your other videos, I have been riding HDs since 1973, worked as HD Service Manager for10 years or so. I am not familiar with all the latest gadgets, so many cool, beautiful and functional accessories out there. I have lots to check into. Thanks
I have a vitamin bottle of potassium i use for cramps. But mustard is great too. Great tips. Portable air pump is nice to have if you changing temperatures a lot. Seems i had to add air every day one trip.
Great advice! One of the things I carry as well is a portable air compressor by Lexin. It's compact, helps inflate a tire if the fix-a-flat can runs out, AND if you've stopped for about 30 or so minutes you can recharge your Sena headset.
Great video Tall. On your last point some Dielectric grease on that connector will possibly avoid that limp mode condition.
