    When I have an abundance I’ll shred mine up and freeze in 2 cup quantities and use it all winter in various dishes. And the 2 cups is perfect amount for zucchini bread! Makes it easy to hide it from the grands who ‘think’ they don’t like zucchini 🙂

    I slice (1/4"thick) and dehydrate slices for later use. Could shred but I prefer the slices for a layered or lasagna type of meal.

    Wow that tool cloth really is a winner!!!
    Wow, an 8 lb 17 oz zucchini!!! My babies didn’t even weigh that much at birth!! They were just under 8lbs!!
    That is a baby size zucchini!!! My mom used to grow them huge to for zucchini bread. My mom was like you in that her garden was always amazing. My grandmother was an amazing gardener also!! Me not so much but I’m learning.

    Hi Robbie... last year my herb garden went ballistic on my patio... way to much to consume.. fresh. So I started looking into "dehydrating" herbs. And experimented with other veggies: mushrooms, eggplant, zucchini ... potatoes, and yams all dehydrate like a dream. I slice or grated the zucchini. Both ways dehydrate well to vacuum bag... or seal in jars. Both are great for lasagna... or to make zucchini bread any time. I know Fresh is Best. But i sure love dry prepping what i grow to have access to "mine" all the time. I do not "can" either. I pickle some. But do think about dehydrating those gorgeous zucchini. I learned alot from other you-tuber videos ... like i learned alot from you. I tier my plants now so i maximize the "real estate" and they, the plants "co-op" the water... lol I have also made 2 solar hummingbird fountains and working on 2 more.

  • @Hookedonfaith-akasandramoody

    I love that you give information that is so detailed and different from what is normally provided.
    This year I grew different varieties including the grey zucchini and so glad I did. It’s my new favorite. Great for grilling. It holds up well and the taste is amazing.

      Any of the zucchini type are great, like you said, grilling, frying, baking, adding into other dishes, stuffing, baking cakes, pancakes....it is that they do not have a strong flavor like some other squash, and yes, those big ones can store for months, thanks, Robbie

      Sounds like it might be too wet, think of it as a plant, water as need, just cover the top with a thin layer of some sort of soil, from your yard, potting soil, even DIRT from your vacuum cleaner, just for now get it covered by soil or dirt so it will start to break down better and not smell. Thanks Robbie

    I wish my zuccini plant would make zucchinis that would get pollinated. They are only an inch or so long and the flowers don't open up to get polinated. I even opened one flower up, tried to hand polinate. It didn't work. Any suggestions from anyone? I see Robbie's zucchinis and wish mine would do the same. The plants look decent. I love zucchinis! I need good advice. Thanks.🦋🦋🦋

      Edie. Thanks for the help but I do have female flowers they are very small. The flowers don't open up to get pollinated. I tried opening up a couple larger flowers and hand polinate but it didn't take. I'm not giving up. 🦋🦋🦋

    • @edieboudreau9637
      @edieboudreau9637 Před 5 lety +2

      Shirley K did you try a paint brush & & twirl in each flower on all plants twice before stopping or cleaning off the pollen?? If you did and it's very hot above 85* they won't take anyway. They have to be pollinated in right conditions. Also if too dry they won't take.

    Robbie i watch all your videos i know that you talk about healthy stuff and all so my daughter told me that that pattern of plates you have here is toxic well i got rid of mine. What do you think

    • @RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy
      @RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy  Před 5 lety

      First I never cook or heat up plates which is where all the issues come from, here is what I found, so I 'd say the way we use them are find, AND I did has my Doctor to do a Toxic Blood test on me just for fun, to see if any toxic lead was found in me, and it came back NONE. Thanks so much, Robbie "The current limit for presence of leachable lead in order to satisfy
      certain requirements is no more than 0.100 ppm (1 tenth of one part per
      million) when obtained under test conditions. At no time have Corelle
      Brands results exceeded levels permissible under the guidelines
      mentioned above (which are believed to be the most stringent in the
      world)."

      @RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy  Před 5 lety

      Is are the findings on the Corelle Dinnerware we use, thanks so much: Non Toxic Dinnerware Corelle Livingware Winterfrost White Dinnerware set.
      Corelle Vitrelle® glass is lightweight & break and chip resistant.
      Corelle dishes are thin and translucent as fine china, yet extremely
      stronger. It is great for every day use. I also like Lenox Opal Innocence Platinum Banded Bone China set.
      Not all Lenox products are lead-free but this dinnerware set is. It is
      elegant and great for formal dining. Bone china is lighter and thinner
      but stronger and more durable than porcelain. I am glad I found these
      dinnerwares that are safe from lead and cadmium. Since dinnerware is
      used everyday, using a non toxic tableware is essential for me. I have
      been using Corelle Livingware Winterfrost White Dinnerware set and it has been great so far.

    too big. I fight with my husband for forty years!!!! I want to harvest small he says big I know I am right I researched it. 7 to 8 inches please!!! My son is in LA a doctor. I am sure if he bought a house, LOL after student loans, if he is lucky he can buy one, I am sure he will put a garden in. I just love gardening benefits etc. Too mad I am getting old and hurting.

    • @RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy
      @RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy  Před 5 lety

      You harvest the way you want, it is your garden, but my husband also grew up on a farm in Australia, where THERE they do harvest them BIG, they pick them and eat them the same day, the same I have done for years. I prefer them big for baking, roasting, for really everything, and the skin and all is very healthy. ONLY the big ones will store for the Winter so you can use them until Spring. Some people like the small ones, but they will only last a few days before they are no good to eat. I hope your Doctor Son does put in a garden, as the zucchinis in the stores are all heavy coated with wax, and those you do need to peel so not to eat the wax. Thanks, Robbie
