Thanks so much for all these amazing videos. As a big fan, I used to follow her performance at Carnegie and Art theaters. One day I got so lucky to meet her and her mother at the backstage and that was the day to launch her fan club first time in Korea. I was so privileged even to take pictures with her holding her magic hand - I happened to stand right next to her among others by chance. She is such a natural person at any time. She is still definitely my favorite violinist.
She’s a living legend.
Great violinist
This woman is amazing! Love to see her play.
The last performance in a white dress is amazing.
Great performance of a violin genius.

Thank you so much for putting this together, this is such a precious archives of her life and playing! Couldn’t be happier to watch this film. Wonderful job!
So marvelous. Thank you!
wonderful, thank you.
Thank you for uploading
Elle est divine!!
She is so beautiful
One of a kind performer! I am so happy I got the opportunity to watch her perform last year in Beijing and Hong Kong. I'm also going to watch her in London at the end of the year. My favourite violinist ever- her sensitivity, musicianship, passion, concentration and focus are unmatched. Are there longer videos of her playing pieces such as Paganini's Caprice No. 24, Beethoven's Violin Concerto with NHK or Devil's Trill Sonata? Thank you so much twofinedays for your contributions! Without you, I and many others might not even have heard of Kyung- Wha Chung. Her music-making has opened my ears! They have never been the same ever since :)
Unfortunately not. Most of materials here, except for those I already have uploaded in full, exist only as excerpt as shown in this collection. The whole Beethoven concerto I have, but from the point I cut, the sound starts to flip back and forth all the way as the original VHS source had been damaged.
twofinedays Sorry to hear that! Again, thank you so much! :)
+twofinedays Thank you so much for your detailed reply and your very hard work in creating this video. So many of us appreciate it very much!
Thank you so much for sharing! I'm so grateful~!
Always Thanks
Thank you for this great video.
Great movie! I wish the original clips of which parts were taken here were available on CZcams in their entirety, too.
It's really a fine gift that you put this together, twofinedays, and I thank you as I feel many will do. Cham komapsumnida. In particular, besides her marvelous playing, it's actually inspirational to hear her speak of the full aspects of her life. More than one gift, then, also from this person, which could not be more appreciated. Thank you.
It's amazing how fluent she speaks English in the interview around 11:00 mark during 1974. She seemed quite uncomfortable with English interview in her other interview in 1971. She must be a such enthusiastic learner! I even like how she responds to the question.
..how FLUENTLY she ...
( and other errors ) sorry , but i presume you would like to improve your English too
much thanks, two fine, so nice to see
Thank you for this fantastic video. Hope someone will do a documentary on Ms. Chung's life story!
wow !!
this is great, thanks for putting it together
Great video
and thanks to your contribution years ago!
Kamsamnida!!!
Thank you for trying to use Korean language!
twofinedays Thank you for sharing! Looks a typo in your note in "9. Bach Double concerto 1st Mov. closing with Cho-Lian Lin (1982) 20:44" - Cho-Liang Lin
Thanks for posting such a great video! She is the female version of Vengerov to me; i'd check some DNA! I know she wanted to be taken seriously; but, I wish she would have flashed that beautiful smile on occasion. Regardless, a virtuoso to say the least.

sounds scratchy sometimes......her playing is superb in any case..
Can I watch the full video of her paganini caprice?
What you see in this video is all there exist. She wasn't to play the whole thing but just the first theme as an opening to the segment that discusses then newly discovered Paganini concerto No.6.
10:17 interviewer: is it necessary to make a fuck face while playing? Chung : No, I do it naturally.
