Honestly, there is not much difference between this cabin and the Allegris cabin, apart from the few business suites. Both products offer aisle access, more privacy, bigger and better screens. The big difference is between Allegris and this product on the one side and the old open 2-2-2 configuration on the other side. That means the aircraft swap could have been so much worse.😊😊😊😊

I'm a little surprised by what you say about the sudden change of aircraft. I myself tried to book a flight aboard D-AIXT (the A350 equipped with the Allegris cabin) back on April 16 (when Lufthansa officially announced the aircraft's inaugural destination).
It was announced that the very first Allegris flight would take place on May 1st between Munich and Vancouver. However, there was no announcement confirming that this cabin would be in service on the same route on May 2.
In fact, a search for Allegris-equipped flights on that date (I speak from experience, having searched several times myself) quickly revealed that D-AIXT would be operating the Munich-Toronto route. This had been announced on the Lufthansa website/app since April 16.
This was confirmed by the airline's press release of the same day: "The first Airbus A350 equipped with Allegris will fly from Munich to the Canadian metropolis of Vancouver. The second destination is Toronto, which will be served alternately with Vancouver on selected flights in the first few months". The idea of alternation is clearly indicated.

Dear Patrick, I often enjoy your video inputs. Thank you!
As a FF with Lufthansa for many years pre-Covid time, I cut-up my cobranded LH Credit Card and sent it back to them as the overall service from around 2018 onwards was increasingly awful. Awful/inedible food onboard, ground service 'appalling' for Business Class both short-haul and long-haul. Unless one has 'top' FF status or flying First Class, one is relegated to completely 'mediocre' lounges in Biz Class in so many destinations/departures. Embarrassingly, so! I won't add more, as I am 'fed-up' complaining about LH 'service'. I voted with my money/business some time ago and just wish to share that unless LH has an incredible transformation somehow in the next few years, I sincerely recommend that NO person travel with Lufthansa for a) value for money...b) reliability...constant employee 'strikes' and bad attitude c) safety....as per example evidence above.

Hi Patrick, that narrated reaction when you came onboard that particular Lufthansa A350 is EPIC. Well, at least, you finally experienced the new Business Class offering of Philippine Airlines! In the words of its wonderful cabin crew, "MABUHAY..."
Jokes aside, equipment swaps really put airlines on notorious reputations. Though I'd still be grateful to have THIS Business Class if I were to hop on one, I'd kinda feel bittersweet since it's not the one I'm expecting. When I went to Japan for the first time, I thought I'd be hopping on an A321neo, and voila, I was given the older low-cost carrier cabin of an A321-200.

European carriers every time! Polaris is not a benchmark C class product. Crews that dress & present themselves well with enthusiasm for the job and for the most part understanding of good customer service. Interesting food choices that are elegantly presented and not just a step up from Burger King or Taco Bell. Menus that are not used as advertising billboards. Good coffee, Starbucks is NOT coffee. Snacks not full of sugar & preservatives etc. Welcome drink in a glass although to be fair haven’t seen plastic cups used on US carriers for a while. General attention to detail that is so often lacking with North American carriers makes for a far more pleasurable flight than whether an aircraft is equipped with the latest generation of seats.

I know I would have been crushed too if I had the equipment swapped on me, but now that I’ve flown it, and have calmed down from the excitement, I can look back and say it didn’t really feel like anything special. Hey Patrick,
another great video. That's why I don't fly Lufthansa, our "flagship carrier", when I can avoid it. Luckily they already got their fifth star taken away a few years ago, however what they offer is three stars max. Especially with the price they charge for their shitty old busines class and their service. So you can call yourself lucky at least getting a former Philippine Airlines jet with a modern business class cabin. You always need to see the positive when flying Lufthansa😊, especially with the price they charge for their product and the mediocre (at max) service they offer. I'm repeating myself...
As Carsten Spohr (CEO) said at their last press conference im March, I think: "we wanna be premium." That's when I thought: then offer premium at a reasonable price and not charge premium for the old shit you offer.
Sound's like I'm upset when talking about that airline? Well, I am! Unfortunately for you, they currently use the only allegris equipped jet they have right now on the 1st, 3rd, 5th etc. May to Vancouver and 2nd, 4th, 6th etc. May to Toronto. So I think one day later and you would've been lucky again. But I would've already called myself lucky aboard that former Phillipine Airlines jet business class.

I did end up using the senator lounge which isn’t anything special. Just less crowded. And why shouldn’t Polaris Lounges be compared to the business class lounge? They are the lounge for Star alliance business class passengers. As far as I’m concerned, they serve the same purpose. It’s just that one of them is light years nicer than the other

When reading through the comments here I really have to laugh. Everybody singing the same complain song about Lufthansa’s equipment change, what are you? Kids flying for the first time? They do equipment changes all the time. And with the few planes that have this Alegris Business Class then to book a flight that should have this seat, and then being upset they did an equipment change? Get a life kiddos.
P.S. Is it a disgrace that it takes LH years to have a first plane equipped with the new C seat after its big fanfare introduction a few years back? Absolutely. Is it a disgrace that it will take LH another eternity to get the new seat pushed to the rest of their fleet? Absolutely. But whine about equipment change.. 😂😂😂

@@PatrickSheaAviation yeah, but I’m also realistic enough to understand that if an airline only has a couple of planes with new seats (according to airfleets they have just 3 x A350 with the new seats, 2 of which are currently parked and only one is operational), I would never ever gamble and rely 100% on their flight schedules or what they “promise” anywhere, and then get upset when they do an equipment change. Equipment change is such a standard thing, and frequent flyer know this. In particular when an airline just have ONE operational plane out of 22 with the desired layout.

OK, equipment swaps happen, they suck, and they are beyond the control of passengers. So why then take the time and effort to just add to the 5,000 other CZcams videos of a 10-year-old product and then tag it with "Allegris"?
