    Outstanding review on the product...thank you for your time!

    Do try to remember to place the top cross pole ABOVE the main arc pole, this pushes down on the main arc pole, helping to create additional structural strength in the tent frame and keeping the fabric taut. Set up as you have shown, if you imagine what might happen if the cross joint piece failed, your tent inner would collapse. The Naturehike Mongar has a better door and a symmetrical pole/inner fly arrangement ( so no difference in which way it goes up) in an otherwise similar design, and is highly regarded as such. Other “non-Chinese” brands often have their tents actually made in China also, so it is hard to see why a) they should be so much more price wise, and b)somehow vastly ‘better’ than Naturehike, a very well-established Chinese brand, just like 3F UL and Flame’s Creed are also.

      Thanks for the advice - very useful! I think the problem with the cheaper Chinese brands is that they may have 'purloined' the design from the western brands and not paid for the privilege. Certainly goes on alot of the time.

    I am using this tent with snow skirts, it is amazing, I wild camped on Mam Tor in Peak District UK on a cold, windy and rainy night, it kept me dry and warm. Thanks for the review video.

    I have this tent. It's good value, the only complaint is the outer door zips on the fly always jam when opening/closing.

    Not sure, but I think you use just one peg at each corner to peg the footprint mat, then the poles go through the footprint and inner tent eyelets, then the fly attaches by way of the buckle clips - no need to use a second peg? Don’t want to be a know-all but just from watching other videos. I’ve just ordered the slightly cheaper version of this tent as I wanted the dark green and yellow colour way. Can’t wait for delivery in a week! Thanks for sharing your video 🤗

      It's funny because after I'd published the video, I wondered why I had used so many pegs - yes you're totally correct! Every time I put the tent up in the wild I also make mistake after mistake - normally putting the fly on the wrong way round - the colour coding is difficult to follow for me. That being said, the tent hasn't let me down, and it's still my go to for a wild camp. Definitely buy some extra guy cords though 👌

    Thanks for the detailed review! Could you let me know the length of the pole segments? I'm considering using this for bikepacking, shorter pole sections work better. Thank you!

    They should make the footprint so it covers the vestibule areas also...I've got this tent but haven't used it yet on a biketouring trip. Was looking at the MSR hubba hubba 2 bikepacking tent due to it being half the weight of this tent plus it has places inside to hang your wet gear to dry overnight. Put its currently $580 USD and doesn't include the footprint.

    Hi, it is great review, i' m also 195 cm, do you know other tents that have same high to seat normal on thick mat and the most important lengh to fit real 220-230 cm double layer ??

    • @CampingSecretsUK
      @CampingSecretsUK  Před 8 měsíci

      Vango Tay 200 is cheap and good but it's heavy. Plenty of space. Reviewing it at the moment!

    If you take the 210T version you will also get the inner tent in 210T, thicker material. Man that door is de only thing holding me back to order this tent. Leaning towards the Mongar 2 as well but the disadvantage for me is that is inner tent has such low walls...

    • @CampingSecretsUK
      @CampingSecretsUK  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Yes that's a good point. Remember the 210T is heavier too. Agree on the door. It's annoying!

    Hi! Great review. Are there pockets on the inside? Namely one to put your headlamp in so you can light up the inside of the tent?

    • @CampingSecretsUK
      @CampingSecretsUK  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Yeah there's a couple of pockets which are perfect for that

    I see you bought an older model with the heavier 20D fly sheet. There are 3 versions of the Star River 2. The latest version with my diy 18€ Tesa Thermocover ground sheet and sowen extra gear loft weighs 1.88kg

    • @CampingSecretsUK
      @CampingSecretsUK  Před 9 měsíci +2

      I can only see two on their website. The heavier 210T and the 20D which I have. What's the third?

    • @abdelhakmeradi9433
      @abdelhakmeradi9433 Před 8 měsíci

      There's no third choice , I have one and it's a very good tent for all seasons , maybe he talk about the snow skirt version

    • @jonneleijenify
      @jonneleijenify Před 4 měsíci

      The third option is the 15D fly sheet.

    Nature Hike doesn't seem to have any presence in UK and according to their website warranty is limited, customer has to pay for any returns, and sent items back to China.
    How's your experience with after sales service?

    • @CampingSecretsUK
      @CampingSecretsUK  Před měsícem +1

      I bought the tent on Amazon (with my own cash) and have not had to contact Naturehike since. I've had good use out of the tent and still use it regularly. You may get it cheaper on AliExpress

    O que esta achando da barraca ? Comprei uma mongar, e acho que seria melhor uma starriver, tenho 1.94m mas acampo com minha namorada, melhor continuar com a mongar pelo espaco lateral mas apertado no cumprimento, ou a strriver com menos espaco lateral e mais comprimento? Lembrando que realmente vou usar em 2 pessoas, obrigado amigo, bom video 👊👊

    • @CampingSecretsUK
      @CampingSecretsUK  Před 4 měsíci

      ¡Vaya, eres alto! Creo que el Mongar es muy parecido al Star River. Personalmente, no puedo criticar al Star River y me alegro de que tenga más longitud. No dices qué tan grande es tu novia y eso es importante. Esta es una decisión difícil y lamentablemente no puedo darle una respuesta exacta. ¡Buena suerte!

    if you would have rolled the door/opening neatly and tucked it away as you should have , you wouldn't have said it's messy. what a newbie comment :))

    • @CampingSecretsUK
      @CampingSecretsUK  Před měsícem +1

      it's more the fact that with the zip following a semicircle upwards, when you roll it up it's effectively along the floor. Definitely non-optimum, but if you disagree that's fine!
