Coming from an immigrant family myself, this made me so emotional. Immigrant parents sacrifice for their kids so much and when their kids get to their final journey it such a bittersweet moment and a huge milestone for the family. Good for her making her parents so proud!
My grandma from North Carolina was the oldest of many kids and had to stay home and raise the kids with her mom… she didnt get an education past elementary grades… but so many of her grandchildren made sure to graduate in further education and teach her things besides house work ❤ she is incredibly smart, loving, and has a great green thumb in the garden!
Such a proud day for those parents. When my daughter earned her Masters the ceremony wasn’t held in person due to Covid, so I put my cap, gown and shawl on from when I earned my Masters and we took our photos together.
I spent a couple of years living with Mexican families. This is a hallmark in their culture and I saw it many times. Parents quietly sacrificing for their children’s future. Very admirable.
This made me tear up. I’m graduating in December with two bachelors degrees and a first generation college student raised by a single mom. It’s been hard. I wanted to drop out once, but I’m almost there.
So simple and so cute. Parents don't love and sacrifice for their child to be thanked or praised or anything. They do it because they are parents. But receiving a thank you and recognition from your child is always one of the best feelings ❤

My husband started working when he was 11 to provide for his family. I had to quit school at 15 to provide for my mom who fell very ill and we had no one else. We both hope we can see our baby graduate in the future. ❤ this moved me to tears.

I graduated today and have never seen my family so happy. I took an insane amount of pictures just so that I don’t regret not having captured the memory later on. The moment is still sinking in 13 hours later, but this is one of the most incredible days of my life. All thanks to my family, and so much more

As a child of parents who never graduated high school, the accomplishment of graduation--high school, college, university and beyond is something that our parents are so proud of because it reflects on them as much as it represents us as individuals. They are likely more proud of us than we are of ourselves for having accomplished these milestones. Congrats to all grads who sacrificed, suffered, overcame, persevered, and ultimately finished. It is an accomplishment worthy of recognition.

I've done this for my parents for many years for smaller accomplishments and I always thank them for everything they did for me as a stupid kid. I would never be where I'm at now without the loving mother and rock of a father I have.
