This is 1968 as the Warriors came to Philadelphia at the end of 69 and signed contracts to skate at the Phila Arena and the Spectrum. Then once a week they would go to the Cherry Hill Arena,Hershey Arena,Wildwood Convention Hall and Atlantic City Convention Hall.

Hey Rocky, You are so correct about the facts about the Warriors. I can remember watching the Warriors on TV 27, Worcester, MA, and hearing Elmer Anderson list the dates that the Warriors would be appearing at these arenas. I had a cousin who lived in Westmont and he showed me where the Cherry Hill Arena was located. Great Memories. Unfortunatelly, I never got a chance to see these games in person. Elmer Anderson was a great announcer. His interviews full of controversy were a treat to watch.

amtrakatsfnyc Yes my uncle owned The Cherry Hill Arena so as a kid I was there all the time. By the way some facts The Cherry Hill Arena was the first home to NHL's Jersey Devils , when closed it became Retail giant The Dry Goods which closed years later and living about a mile from the arena was Pro Wrestling Legend Nature Boy Buddy Rogers on Coles Mill Road in HADDONFIELD. Incidently The Cherry Hill Arena was the first building The Warriors played in when they came East.

Hey Rocky as an added note your cousin lived in Westmont which was home to The Westmont Theater which was one of the oldest theaters in The United States but its fame was it was managed at one time by Actor Michael Landons father and they lived in Westmont and Michael went to Collingswood High School and it was here his father hung michaels bed linens out the window because he was a bed wetter and did This to embarrass his Michael.

AMTRAK WESTMONT WAS MAYBE 2 MILES FROM THE CHERRY HILL ARENA AND FOR YOUR INFO THE JERSEY DEVILS PLAYED THERE FIRST GAMES AT THE CHERRY HILL ARENA BUT AS HOCKEY GREW MORE POPULAR THEY HAD TO MOVE TO A BIGGER ARENA. THE CHERRY HILL ARENA WAS A GREAT VENUE FOR ROLLER GAMES. MY UNCLE WAS THE OWNER OF THE CHERRY HILL ARENA AND AS A KID I BECAME FRIENDS WITH JOHN PARKER AND BETTY BROWN AND THEY TAUGHT ME HOW TO SKATE UP ON THE BANK TRACK. JUST A SIDE NOT HADDON FIELD N.J. WAS SET TO BE THE FILMING LOCATION FOR THE MOVIE HALLOWEEN AS ASST. PRODUCER DEBRA HILL WAS RAISED THERE BUT TOWNSHIP OFFICIAL NIXED THAT IDEA BECAUSE YO NOT BE ASSOCIATED WITH A MURDERER. SO WHEN YOU WATCH THE MOVIE THE STREETS AND HOUSE'S ALL LOOK LIKE HADDONFIELD N.J.

It's Games Michael. Spectrumlocalb191 is correct. San Francisco Shamrocks & Eastern Warriors were Games teams of the National Skating Derby.

Also track size was not the issue. More so the size of the arena determined what size of track is used.

What a Treat thanks for putting this up here.I was raised here in South Jersey and would go all the time to the Cherry Hill Arena which was the original home of the New Jersey devils. We would go see Roller games there every week in haddonfield where the Arena was located on Brace Road.Sad it is now a supermarket.the cherry Hill Arena was not as big as the Phila Spectrum but every bit as much a landmark legend.Im glad Elmer Anderson mentioned The Cherry Hill Arena.Do you have this on DVD?
