The problem is that when you try to take that rule and apply to a wide variety of models that have been made over three decades and with tons of different ideas, standards and rules that applied during their own respective time, you’re going to have models that just don’t behave quite right.

21:45 its not a six sided die issue. It's an issue of having fixed stats. If we look at old world then we can see, if two custodes came and attacked eachother they'd be hitting one another on 4s, but against a guardsman they'd be hitting the guardsman on 2s and he them on 5s.
Hitting on 2s in shootings is a problem in 40k because they've decided there should only be 5 tiers of stats. 6+, 5+, 4+, 3+ and 2+. Yet Old World allows for hitting on 7s, and on better than 2s without achieve a 100% hit rate. 40k is limited by a desire to not have people learn more core rules and instead put the difficulty in copious amonts of army bloat.
So bobby G and the Lion can open doors, but they can't ride in landraiders? One of the only audiobooks I've listened to has Roboutte in his own personal landraider for about a 1/4 of the story.

Getting stuff onto objectives or in place to score secondaries is really important and remaining stationary is usually how you fail at that. Additionally, I've found the best games I've played have had a solid amount of terrain that blocks line of sight so if you remain stationary you also have to rely on your opponent putting stuff where you can see it. This update means you can put pressure on the midfield and move into better positions and still get Lethal Hits.

For Vehicles (excluding Walker models that have a base) or models
without bases, every part of the model and its base (if it has one) is
used for determining if it is not within, within or wholly within a Ruin.
For all other models, the model’s base is used to determine if it is not

Never had anyone actually bother me about it but it is against RAW. The real problem with the pivot rule is going to be things like Drukhari Ravagers deep striking 9" away and then pivoting and only needing like a 6" charge.

Glad that Astra Militarum can move and do lethal hits now (especially with the continued nerfing of indirect fire with point increases and rules changes) I thought GW missed the mark with Born Soldiers. I completely get and agree with regiment not getting lethal versus vehicle or monster, but Squadron units should get lethal versus all targets. Why only vehicle and monster? I do have a question about the daring recon ability of the scout sentinel I would like your opinion on. Since GW simply shoe-horned the "unmodified to hit roll of 1-3 always fails" into the Indirect fire rules, and Daring recon explicitly states attacks that have indirect fire ability, "it does not suffer the penalty to the Hit roll for shooting". So why wouldn't the penalty of rolling to hit 1-3 not be ignored just like the -1 to hit and the benefits of cover? Thanks for your feedback.

I simply haven't/didn't see anything where GW changed the Once Per Game's of it. I think you guys missed the mark, jumped at shadows.

The Dataslate says replace the entire rule with the Lord of Deceit. All of those CP increasing rules state as the first line "Once per game", but it's still part of the rule, which is now replaced in its entirety.
Lord of Deceit doesn't say Once per game, it clearly says each time. We didn't miss anything or make any leaps- it's what the rule explicitly allows 🙂

@@thepastrychef8014 Ah, got it now, I see! You guys continued on into the Core Rules update where the Metawatch guys left off. I was confused/wondering how you guys were extrapolating from just what they said would make the +CP Starkiller situations. I didn't get that you guys were diving into more than just GWs vid at that point. 👍
