Good comparison, Both are excellent but g8 is slighty but noticeably better in every way on photo and video. But velvet due to higher res its sharper when you crop in but on audio oh man both of them are on par they're excellent even with premium midrange device lg still top notch when it comes to mic's hardware. Next lowlight😊
Edit: also on front camera they're both good but g8 has a natural background blur and it looks good

This was a good comparison video 📹. The LG Velvet won that battle. This is a good comparison to make with the midrange devices. This year's new midrange versus last year's flagships. That can't definitely help consumers decide where to spend their money 💵.

The G8 has more detail, less saturation for more realistic color, a bit warmer colors and less processing. The velvet held up though for being a Midranger. Love my G8.

Good comparison between them two and just got my new lg velvet and good battery life barely last me a day, but to bad I don't have bokeh voice and no asmr on t-mobile 😒

For those That said LG G8 is better, you guys are right, I Bought the LG velvet 5g last year thinking that it was going to have a superior camera but I was wrong the LG velvet has cool features and everything but the camera sucks I regret buying this phone, I'm thinking in buying the LG G8 thinq again like an idiot lol!! but anyways lesson learned.

@@harridperez9051 type lg g8 pre owned on ebay. With a little research you can find one. I got mine for 150 unlocked, with no lcd burn, it just had a little crack on the corner.
In 2022 it's easily that price on Amazon lol
im a saturation and brightness guy, so i like the lg velvet pictures. regarding the video, it seems the velvet was digitally zoomed in, because it was overshappened and alot closer to the objects. if it wasnt zoomed in then the G8 video is better. so then overall i would pic the G8.
Ye, that’s the ultra steady mode. Without it the video looks a lot better, and by lot I mean A LOT. I doesn’t use pixel binning in ultra steady mode. Switch it off, and the Image becomes really sharp and clear. Though night shots aren’t bad by any means, but compared to other phones not really competitive.
@@ThePianist51 yah. i have a gimbal so i would be glad when videos show with and without any form of stabilization. so i can estimate video quality.

g8 front facing camera is absolutely atrocious, not sure why.. G8 does better recording videos & SOMUCH better in SloMo, velvet sounds better recording videos.. G8 does better taking close/normal picture shots, velvet does better taking zoomed in shots more crisp.. G8 for me due to the better screen resolution, great video.

velvet has a way better selfie camera by definition. Kinda looks like iphone camera. on teh velvet. iphone 11 or 12 front camera.
