Elon Musk: Can Superintelligent AI Help us Reach Type 1 Civilization?

  • Elon Musk has expressed worry about the advent of a digital superintelligent AI numerous times now. He has put solid solutions to the AI control problem. One of which is the merging scenario with AI. But first Elon Musk, is focused on making sure humanity makes the transition to renewable energy, which is the first right step towards becoming a type 1 civilization.
Musk suggested that if we can't achieve a self-sustaining civilization on Earth, our fate will likely be extinction.
Elon however has a plan. He founded Tesla Energy, a company that produces battery packs for homes, businesses, and utilities, and Tesla Motors, which produces electric cars.
According to Elon the world would require battery production of 20 to 25 Terawatt-hours over the course of 15 to 20 years. The solution, Musk explained, is advancements in battery technology. Tesla's new cell design is expected to reduce the cost per kilowatt-hour by half.
Elon Musk's most important Company is Neuralink. His goal with Neuralink is to build ultra-high bandwidth brain-computer interfaces for human mind and eventually giving humans the option to achieve a symbiosis with artificial intelligence. This will enable humanity to avoid the extinction of the human race due to increasingly powerful AI advancements.
Unpredictable consequences of AI is probably the biggest concern of the top AI researchers.
Being a Type 1 civilization means we would have complete control over all the energy on Earth . We would need to be able to model, understand, replicate, and control all the energy on Earth. It might take a few hundreds of years, but that is a small amount of time on the timescale of the universe.

when I was designing/thinking about my AI/CI/HI superintelligence etc.. concepts the method I came about in controlling ai was to have its control contain the subsets, and to terminate the subset and assume the function if the subset function would override the control. This was it ran as a virtualization within itself, and used its own ways of defeating itself to provide for a capacities to prevent losing control. This same premise can be used for dream thought and virutalized thought (ponderances) as opposed to simply physical work (physic object/entity apparatus interactions) occurence modeling and stimulus response prioritizations. Again the protection is existing outside of the limits of its awareness. Skynet is coming, prepare. The trick is insuring that the human control is recognized as itself and a part that would result in its termination. In that sense the human control becomes the most protected part.. of course that is not to say AI cannot screw up. Humans screw up a whole lot. So having itself outside of itself would provide for it to be remotely cast to its area of operation.

Too think about that, but here is some of problem, like slow increase in experience. This also means, what process of getting more advanced techniques of self-control too be slowed. You also need to determine at what stage of real thinking artificial intelligence needs to make a choice: listen to virtualized thoughts or not.
As always, a lot of problems... We may have to manually control all that flow
of virtualized thoughts, easing the burden of non-virtualized intelligence. And this can also take a long time, and this method also includes the terrible human factor.

Humans create new life using biology, and then crippled socio-economical systems twist the minds and characters of that newly born life. Same will be with the new life created by technology. The problem is not about how fast to think and solve problems. The problem is how to change human mentality so that humans would live in harmony with their own species, the planet and the Universe. Technology cannot solve that problem. And Musk is only an businessman-engineer. Speaking of his business SpaceX - it's a project of the riches. That is, to make naive crowds like and approve a likeable " visionary," while SpaceX and likewise corporations get their greedy hands on the Solar System and beyond under the disguise of taking humans beyond the Earth.

With Asi we can easily reach type 3 civilization in less than 100 years. With influx of massive boost in infinite inflation of intelligence, everything would be in our grasp and Utopia is certain.

@james jameson That's the point we dont know, scientist would be smart enough to think of a way to stop the ai if it's not functioning like how we want it to. It could be on our side or it could turn, who gives a shit anyways at this time and age everyone is shit. We either gamble and have a chance to reach Utopia/ Singulariy or stay static as a human race slowly self destructing ourselves.

I never thought about the reason we could be alone in the universe because all intelligent civilizations wiped themselves out from designer viruses, robots taking over, or some other advanced civilization blooper that we all end up doing... never even occurred to me.

I'm really glad that a guy like Elon really have the brain and the courage for literally creating a better future for humanity almost by himself... But just imagine if he hadn't been born or maybe if he hadn't got to the place he is now: Successfully Running Tesla, Solar City and Space-X... How isn't humanity not already going on that direction... We need to focus of efforts and row on the same direction: progress and the well being of humans... If we choose the path of greed: money money money and spending on plastic garbage (not talking about the necessary things) instead of solar panels better education less bullshit on schools etc... we would be doomed in less that 100-200 years by our own hand... 😌👏👏👏
