I bought this a couple of months ago because my MSI Katana with 3070 gets pretty hot when playing. This cooling pad is awesome! Keeps temps a lot lower. Best ever!
yo! i also have an MSI katana with 3070,and yk how loud the fans and keyboard can get, does it really make that much of a difference?
Honestly saw a few reviews about this cooling pad and I'm thinking to buy it, probably 3-4, but this review was pretty much the most useful of them all. Great video, Christopher!
Thank you Gabriel! Give it a try and if you do not like it, send it back! Glad I could get the details across
i may be paranoic, but the pressure it generates doesn't damage the in any way the laptop? sorry for bad english
@@gaelchido5335 it will, pressuring air into the laptop damages it. Idk why company just make a pad that sucks the air FROM the laptop instead of pushing air in.
This is quite possibly the best laptop cooling pad video on youtube. On top of that, this cooling pad is probably the best I have ever seen. Awesome work,
Nice review!
What I would do is add an extra filter like those swifter sheet and cut them to fit over the intake and tape the edge to hold it in place. You can also use a double sided tape. It get dirty after a year. I just replaced it with a new sheet.
I can lower the temperature to 60 c with the following tricks.
- Set your maximum processor state to 95.
- If you have a Gigabyte control center, set it to quiet mode.
- I set my IETS GT500 at 50% fan speed. This lower the sounds and it won't overworked the fan.
- I run all my games at low to medium setting at 1080p even if I have an RTX 4060.
The long term benefits is all your games will run cooler and your laptop will last longer because I found out low 1080p and ultra 4k settings looks the same. I'm looking at you Alan Wake 2
Great video, was everything I was looking for in a review for the gt500👍
finally a practical down to what matters review, defo getting it. cheers bru
Some advice, replace thermal comound, remove the fans from the heatsink assembly, and check for dust pads on the heatsink. Combining that with the pad may drop temps to the upper 70s.
After researching I decided to purchase this. I absolutely love it!! Best one on the market right now. And the extra ports and RGB lights are such awesome features. I highly recommend.
Thank you for your input. Just bought it on Amazon!
It's not just about extending the life, a very hot laptop may thermal throttle, a pad like this could actually improve performance.
Here before you make it huge!
Amazingly high quality content from such a small creator, wish you luck on your journey!
I just ordered one and you now have a new Sub
My SCAR 17 SE be able to keep it around 70-80 degrees most of the time when gaming at max settings but to me it's a bit too hot for my liking, so I need something like this soon.
Cooler is better in my opinion it's simply means I give the laptop more headroom to push higher settings without feeling like it's going to melt on my desk when I needed or wanted it to.
A sure way to lower temps is to completely disable turbo mode and undervolt CPU and GPU.
Lock the max frame rate to lower target helps a lot as well when you game alone you don't need 100+ fps to enjoy games.
The more cinematic the game is I tend to lower them down to like 30 and maxed every other setting.
And avoid simulation games those are really good at constantly thrashing your CPU.
Very nice review, definitely gonna pick one up for my Predator Helios Neo
Great video mate, cheers
Thank you a lot mate. Great review
Just got my first ever gaming laptop (instead of using a MacBook and a console), and cpu (i9-13900hx) temps jump to 90 but drop quickly again. Regardless, this is a must have. Thank you so much for the vid!
Make sure to also change the thermal paste. It really helps with the temps!
@@christopherdedeck Sorry. It's true that with big GPUs these days, it's difficult to cool and the cooling designs are sometimes not good on gaming laptops. But then the average user doesn't care about maintaining a laptop as you know, which is sad. Best wishes. Sorry ;)
yo this is awesome thank you so much for the video!
This what I call a review very detailed and deep thanks man
Good video mate!
the way of presentation attracted me🎉
You should upload more videos ,i felt something unique in your video
I appreciate that! This is my hobby account. Slowly getting into tech and taking yall with me. The realm is ever expanding!
Awesome video! Thanks man
Thanks for the perfect review! You earned a thumbs up, a new subscriber, and I purchased that from your affiliated link. 🙂
For some reason IETS has two listings on Amazon for the same model (at 5000 RPM), but from your link it was $39 cheaper. Thank you!
Using it since 2020, worth every single penny.
Saw this on amazon. Been wanting a cooling pad for my gaming laptop that is effective. Thanks for very detailed review. 👍
Thank you for correctly showing how cooling pads can increase fps and performance so many people claim they don’t work.
nice videoi! finally something of interesting about these cooling pad. Recently i bought Alienwre m17 r5, i have ridicolous cpu temperature, but my primary problem is the loud fan! I can't play. You didnt talk about the difference of fan noise.. If i use this cooling pad can i set the laptop fan in quiet mode? thanks
Because of this video I bought the V1 for the higher rpms and it works insanely well. Hopefully I will get some more life out of my laptop. Just wanted to say thanks for the video and show some support.
Thank you for this. Got mine yesterday, but was nervous about it, due to a) the box looks like it's been kicked down several flights of stairs, and b) that it clearly came from China, with terrible English translations and spelling.
I'm not ragging the Chinese, but I have been so burned in the past by sites posing as English (the creators' name is Ethan, apparently), then getting not even remotely close to what I ordered and the company refusing the return or refund. I've had to eat hundreds of pounds; this thing is close to another hun. Won't do it again. But I see yours was the identical box. So I feel a little reassured. My Alienware has just had an expensive bit of work, including thermal paste, and it still will leave a blister if I touch it near an exhaust. I definitely need a cooler. So, thanks again, man. You're very watchable. 😊
Comment had me laughing. Glad its still working after the beating it had. I can relate to the asian companies posing as americans with crap english on their products/manuals. However, I have yet to be burned! Must be lucky
@@christopherdedeck It's actually amazing, this fan. So thanks again, man. Glad you had a giggle. 😆
Cheers!
i have been using this for my razer blade 17 its awesome
You know on predator laptop has a software called Predator Sense, it's showing both CPU and GPU temperature were 60°C and that's fine to me, but in system temperature (which is hardware) reach up to 89°C! I just want to know when you use that cooler did you feel the heat in touchpad area?
Your review was on point and the whole video was amazing

Will the fan bearing wear out faster due to increase rpm of fan being pushed by vacuum air.?
Nice Video 👍
good review appreciate it
Thanks ❤
Thank you for a concise, sober, and not obnoxiously loud (yelling) video.
I leave with a rested soul 😌
edit: and the absence of background noise (useless music)
Thank you my friend! Creating these reviews the way I would want to watch them
Excellent test
Thank you, man!!!
My msi gs66 had a fan crap out on the gpu side but this thing plus my laptops fans on a lower speed keep it pretty cool. I dont get the cooling some people get aince my gpu is vbios swapped and heavily overclocked.
Happy my laptop still sits at 29-35c idle even with a dead fan.
question, I just bought one of these. amazing btw
but how do I clean the dust proof net,
I see some people suggesting isopropyl alcohol on a microfiber cloth
Man i Love your Gaming Screen -which one is it and where can i get it ? :)
I'm thinking of buying something like this for my Macbook Air. I almost never play games on it, but when I do it's either a couple of LoL matches (runs well with a regular cheap cooler) or half a day of WoW (which does make it pretty dang hot).
Would a strong fan fix the cooling for a Macbook Air, or am I better off using a second small usb fan on top of the keyboard?
i wish more people would play game or video volume on lap top at a normal level when showing these to get a better idea of actual sound. thank you
Thank you. Perfect vid. I just bought this for my MSI gaming laptop with the same venting system. It gets way too hot and don’t want to keep running my fans on max and would like them to basically not run at all and only use this. If too loud I’ll be cranking up my sound system and/or wearing headphones. Cooling my spendy 🤑 laptop is more important than being annoyed by something doing work. Appreciate your hard work on video and making our community of gaming nerds informed badasses. If y’all’s ever need crypto advice on how to make hella let me know. Haha. 😂
How about the exhaust of your laptop? I have ASUS FX505DT and its exhaust is in the back behind the monitor. This may block by the foam.
Also, what's racing wheel in the background?? hehe
Does the alienware X17R1 laptop fit you? My machine is 40cm wide, 30cm deep. Thank you.
very good video . i would definitely buy this now since we have the same laptop!!!!!
hi there one question, do the laptop put slightly above or lower for better cooling?
Do you plug the iets into your laptop or does it need a separate plug?
my 1660 ti is hitting 90 and having stutters from it. Especially Baldurs gate 3. Do you reckon this will be as effective? Iover 90 seems way too high
Can you please test the product "Baseus Thermocool". Thanks dude for this
what is the software you're using to monitor the laptop
My laptop's ventilation hole is in the middle while the fan cover is also in the middle, can it still be used? sorry my english is not good
Will this(IETS GT500) work fine for an 18 inch laptop also?
I have two laptop fans that goes up to 6000 rpm. If i get this cooler and the air flow is less than 6000 rpm or higher will it damage my fans??
If the air flow is less than what my laptop need then it will overheat and if it is higher then it might make my fans overspin 6000 rpm and will damage my 2 fans? I might be wrong on both statements but, I hope someone have an answer.
I'm returning mine after a couple days testing, (Legion 7i gen 9) CPU +4'C, GPU +2'C... It seemed to cause suction which I believe had the internal fans stuggling for intake.
Hi I heard colling pad increase dust in the laptop fan.
If I use it can it stop dust?
Is it cumbersome to play on just the laptop with this pad underneath without external accessories like ur using in the video?
Can You try the baseus pad? Please.😊
2:52 is the external gpu it locks like a toaster do you have video on it
I bought one a little while ago which basically looked like a bunch of small PC case fans.
It's basically worthless. It's USB powered and each fan on max barely moves any air at all. Not enough to even make a piece of paper wiggle.
This one looks a lot more useful.
I need this so bad...
Do you need to set the laptop cooler to max?
Love it. Has anyone tried this with the Razer Blade? Epic gaming laptops but they get hot a.f. I have the one with the RTX 3080 and it throttles a ton once it gets hot and the fans can't handle it anymore.
This works magic , and there's a new GT600 pretty much a GT500 with so much less fan noise.
Nice video broo🗽❤️
What program shows the temperature on the big screen?
if only the built in fan that comes with the laptop actually made a difference cooling the laptop
Done subs 👍👍 very useful video bro
bought it a month ago - absolutely amazing, get it, don't even think about it, it will save your laptop's life and your temps will be insanely low even at max clocks, ive been doing this for 20 yrs and customized the hell out of my laptops but even liquid cooling won't beat this
yes it's loud, get an external monitor and simply move it away or get headphones
edit: if yours isn't 'working' well enough, make sure you have the right pad, there are 3 types with some laptops not even needing them, i used the wrong pad and dropped by 5 C after i fixed the issue
and new version just dropped right after i bought mine with ton more ports and stuff =( but ill probably buy it for my next laptop
Is it safe to use that? Can it cause damage to the fans due to the pressure?
Hey hey. Hard for me to get gt500 , no availiable delivery to my country. But finally found GT300. is that a good cooling pad to start with ?
I have this and never knew you could adjust those two thingies at the top front of the cooler 😂
Thanks for this vid!
I only set mine to 50~70% speed.
Oh and dust still passes through, very fine ones.
The more you know 😂
You are welcome, thanks for watching!
I usually do the same for mine. That’s why I think the 5000 rpm is overkill.
@christopherdedecker if your running a 5000 rpm fan at 3500 rpm by rights it should last longer than a 3000 rpm running at 3000 rpm all the time no?
@@MurdahBassRecords would like to know as well, though i have a feeling they're the same fan but one at a lower max rpm.
Hey man great video. I had ordered the 300, but after your vid I quickly cancelled the order and ordered the 500 instead lol. It'll be here later today. I have a 2023 Nitro 5 I fattened up with a big SSD and a bunch of RAM hehe and am enjoying finally having a machine able to drive my truck with the scenery cranked all the way up to ultra. This should help keep Ol' Bessy nice and cool.
Keep in mind, now at 62 I bore witness to the beginnings of all this - hell, I remember buying Flight Simulator 1.0 way back when SubLogic released it, haha. I also remember Win 1.0 lol.
Question: What program is everyone using to put that bench info on the top-left of the screen whilst playing?
I am your recent subscriber you knon that😂
I just subscribed.
Damn i got one but its too loud but it really help with my cooling
Whenever I game, I use IEM headphones which will completely block out the noise of the cooling fan. However, I have yet to test how well my Mic blocks out the noise with its active noise cancellation. Either way, I would trade off the noise any day to ensure my computer isn't burning itself alive.
This is the best laptop cooler you'll buy. I have a Dell Latitude E6430 that was impossible to game on before buying this cooler. It brought the temps down by 20 degrees.
I put dry ice cubes on that things and it was a beast cooler it drops around 45-50 degree celcius
Would it Work (Fit into) with Asus G15 Zephyrus??
Plz reply & Sorry for bad English!
This cooling pad worked wonderful for about 2 months when the fan/system died.
I have an MSI GS63VR Stealth Pro laptop, Would you suggest getting this cooler for my laptop?
Yeah, I know, it's an old ass laptop, but I got it as a gift a couple years back. I never got a cooler for mine as I watched tons of videos and can see that most were junk.
This one seems to be making rounds and I'm surprised that only now I'm learning about this
I have tested plenty of cooler at this point and the IETS GT500 is so far the best.
wow these cuts hurt my brain
Is this suitable for 17inch laptop
I'm your 20th sub remember me in future
I dont know you neither this channel. Nevertheless I will never forget about you now if he doesnt. I will come back here every year to tell you that
@@marcuscasagrande7596you better I’m gonna hold you accountable for that statement every year
@@marcuscasagrande7596huh bruh im not convinced you're gonna forget in 5 hours 😂
How long is the power cord?
I just ordered one, hoping it helps fix my cpu overheating problem causing me so much frame drops and also stuttering in games where I get up to 80+FPS in nvidia optimal settings
I am going to buy a MacBook Air 15, but it has no fans. I needed a good way to cool the laptop, so I wanted to buy a powerful cooler. This one seems perfect for me.
It might be a problem due to the Macs vents as I bought one to use with my MacBook Pro but alas it still gets raging hot. I think these are designed for laptops not MacBooks.
Won't this mess up the built-in fans of the laptop? Like force them to spin at a weird oscillation?
thanks my g14 rtx 4090 was thermal trottling and getting frames drop from 100fps to 40-50fps
does this work on the helios 300 ph315-54?
Hey ! Very interesting review ! I'm not sure about something : Is the cooler blowing air into the back of the laptop or sucking air out of the back of the laptop ?
Thanks for your response !
The air pushes through your laptop therefore exhausting all the hot air quicker and with a vacuum effect
@@crazyrussian1974 i wonder does it make any harm to a laptop for example when my laptop on turbo boost and also with this fan?
Check out the IETS GT500 Laptop Cooler: amzn.to/415vYgH
Amazing video, however i was still wondering about the actual fan inside it. Would you be willing to do a dissasembly/teardown video on it? As it would help the curious ones. besides no one yet has posted a video on this topic so you would also be the first one to do so
I think KLIM Everest might be slightly more interesting than this one. Although I dont see an adjustable front flap. But the heat shields might help with longer laptops that have a sticking out rear like desktop replacements.... say... MSI TITANS... CLEVOS... TOP END Alienwares...
