    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Some people look at the royal family and see its prim and polished members as people worthy of admiration and emulation. While others see a lifestyle that is far too confining to ever envy. It’s true that there are a lot of rules that the royal family must follow, even its youngest members. We will tell you fifteen rules that the royal children are expected to obey. Prince George goes to a public school, but he does so while accompanied by security detail, and someday his sister Princess Charlotte will as well. The kids are taught to sit a certain way, such as mastering the “Duchess slant” often demonstrated by Kate Middleton. They must also seek permission from the Queen if they plan to fly somewhere on vacation. There’s also one game that they are forbidden to play, and we’ll tell you which one it is! It’s probably one you have in your house.

    Your info about nicknames is completely wrong. Prince Harry’s name is a nickname that we all use. His real name is Henry. Nicknames may not be used by non-members of the Royal Family but within the Royal Family, nicknames are almost always used. The Queen was called Lillibet by her family all the time and Prince Philip has called her “Cabbage” forever. William has been called “Wills” by his brother even when it could be overheard, Catherine is “Kate”, and Harry has been called “Spike” by his friends and even called “Ginger” by his brother. The Queen is called Gan-gan by some of her grandchildren and Kate even said that on an interview. They are more than tolerable to nick names, it seems that they are more common with the Royal Family than they are with us usual folk but of course we can’t go up to the Queen and call her “Cabbage”...who would try that?

      @JustImmiagine Před 6 lety +2

      Yeah, I have no idea where they got the nickname thing from - they're very commonplace in the royal family. Even going back a couple of generations, you only have to look at Queen Victoria's family - all of her children, bar two, had a nickname, and generally one which they were better known by than their real name. Edward VIII and George VI were known as David and Bertie for most of their lives. You're right about Sandringham too - and if I'm not mistaken, it's not a requirement to spend Christmas with the royal family if you're a part of it - at the very least, not Christmas Day.

    I love how some of the information is incorrect. The Royal Family spend Christmas at their private estate Sandringham House near Sandringham, Norfolk, not Buckingham Palace. The Duchess of Cambridge is officially HRH Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, Countess of Strathearn and Lady Carrickfergus but, in England she is known as the Duchess of Cambridge an, English title, In Scotland she is know as the Countess of Strathearn, a Scottish title and in northern Ireland she is known as the Lady Carrickfergus a northern Irish title. The Duchess of Cambridge is the senior title and that is the title commonly used and she is just addressed in person as Her Royal Highness and Ma'am after, not Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge. The Cambridges do not do the "royal wave" as you call it, they wave normally. A lot of these rules are outdated..... fact check your information

      The video language is a little bit 'heavy' - children are schooled into recognising certain expected standards of behaviour. Royal children aren't 'forced', we've come quite a way since the 19th century when not only royal children were beaten into line.

      Vala Dina,
      It's like learning to play the piano - a little at a time. It's my opinion that many of the so-called rules are no longer followed.
      The principal aim of training the children is to ensure they know how to behave appropriately in public and private.
      You may have noticed both Prince George and Princess Charlotte being 'difficult' in some of the videos - that's the sort of thing that has to be overcome as they get older and understand.

    • @valadina4477
      @valadina4477 Před 6 lety +5

      Gordon Smith I don't understand, I have children and they were once young and yes to have to be disciplined but at the same time children need to be children, I do understand having to take proper etiquette classes, learning different language because they travel all over the world but I'm just saying some of the rules you do have to admit or just a little too ridiculous, especially the queen eating part, that don't make no sense all right

      I'm sure you're right. Ordinary, everyday good manners, being polite etc are things that have to be taught - I suspect the list is probably way out of date.

      actually once they eventually get old enough to wonder about the world and then join the military especially for George since that is a rule of the monarchy you know every son of the royal family has to enter one military force or an other. they will learn the simpler things and start to struggle with the rules and besides if you cant be yourself with your own family then whats the point. DIana used to put her foot down when it came to her boys she made it a point to let her kids be kids and i just hope William will follow in her footsteps.
