Hi everyone - It's come to my attention that there has been someone masquerading as myself, responding to some comments here with a link to a Telegram chat to win a prize from me. THIS IS A SCAM, I am not holding a contest, nor do I have a Telegram account. PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO THESE MESSAGES!!
It's happening on a lot of my videos, I'm taking steps to remove them manually, but as I have 162 videos, it will take some time. If you do run across a suspicious comment, I would appreciate you letting me know at info@dronebotworkshop.com.
    Thanks!
    Bill (The real one!)

That was an excellent demonstration and comparison. Thanks for taking the time for us. I always enjoy your videos because of the care you take with the accuracy of information you present.
I'm interested in using these for an RV (4x4 vehicle + towed camper) for both security and manoeuvring functions. I plan to mount 6 or so fixed cameras around the rig.
I'm hoping Wifi is sufficient to run the video streams to a head unit - one in the vehicle and a second in the camper. For manoeuvring, latency and frame rate are important. I wonder if any of these cameras can fulfil this objective? Perhaps its time to join the forum!

Field of view was changed dramatically between stills and videos. My guess is that video mode only use a small part of the sensor. Otherwise it's a no brainer to pick this autofocus camera instead of RPi's V1 or V2.And once again an excelent presentation, thank you.

Well done! I especially appreicated the detailed discussion of libcamera. I have a number of up and running old projects which have been fine tuned. I discovered that switching to Bullseye OS was going to be more effort than I bargained for.
I did a quick search to purchase the autofocus camera and found it is still not available. This seems to be a common theme for new Raspberry Pi products.

Thanks! Great video. I just got a Raspberry Pi Camera Module 3 and could not find any useful info on how to use it until I found this video. There is nothing included with the camera except a link to the Raspberry Pi site which is almost totally marketing related. No mention of the fact that Raspian OS Bullseye uses a completely different camera software from what is described in all the existing doc. There isn't even an option to enable the camera interface. Thanks to your video though it all makes sense now. BTW this camera, with the Raspbian OS Bullseye software IS continuous autofocus in video. Not sure if that is due to an update in the software or a difference between the Camera Module 3 and the Arducam autofocus camera. I suspect it is a software update though.

Have you tried recording the video using a raspberry pi program that has a loop of the "f" command on one line? That way the program should auto focus everytime the program loops; I'm guessing every few milli seconds.

I am interested in the cam as a robotics cam for computer vision. I will only use low res images so that the computer vision can process them fast. My main interest is in how much blurring there is when using a fast moving image. When you have a fast moving robot the images from the video stream become blurred. Do you know if the exposure time can be shortened especially for low res images??
