This is a Brydes whale demonstrating a unique behavior called trapfeeding aka treadwater feeding. They do this in the Gulf of Thailand because the gulf is heavily polluted. (somebody more knowledgeable please correct me if im wrong on this detail its been some time since I've read up on these fellers and their situation) The polluted water sinks down to the depth where most of the fish swim at. To avoid getting a mouthful of muck, one whale will tread water above a school of fish keeping its open mouth suspended above the surface like we see in the video. The rest of the pod will herd the fish up the water collumn by blowing air bubbles in a circular pattern around them. The pod chases the fish upwards until they reach the surface. with nowhere else to go, they leap into the whale's open mouth. The whales take turns between eating and herding. These incredible animals work together until everyone has their fill. Brydes whales are gentle giants. The people in the video were in no danger. If anything, _they_ were a potential danger to the whale, driving up at full tilt like that. They were risking a prop strike which can be a fatal wound for any whale. Not to mention, its just plain rude to interrupt someone who's trying to eat lol EDIT if you look closely on this video you can actually see some fish leaping into the whale's mouth
