    Awesome . I had a 1965 21 window when I was a kid . I modified a 1 1/2 inch anti sway bar off of a 1976 Chevy suburban by shortening the arms so the geometry matched the lower control arms . I used the lower shock mounts to connect the sway bar with 1/4 inch flat bar . I used 1/2 inch U bolts to mount the sway bar to the lower tube on the front axle beam . Of course the bus was lowered and I had 60 series Goodyear NCT tires at the time It handled like a slot car . Very little body roll . I notice you had quite a bit when you were on the track . It will help keep the bus from rolling .It will HUGE difference

  • @mrspark2438
    @mrspark2438 Před 6 lety +3

    Though it is adequate for fuse wire and cell connections, I would avoid using solder as only means of connection between busbars and look into bolting them together. Solder is highly discouraged in the NEC due to its unreliable nature, tendency to break.

    85000W / 400V = 212.5 A, 212.5 A / 2.9 A = 73.27 ~ 74 pieces

    Brother, test out the 'tesla switch' battery configuration. You'll need three of your battery cell configurations to run it. Hook two units together in series, and then hook up the negatives of both the single and series units. The negative will now be the positive of the single unit, and the positive will be the positive from the series units. If you can find an ingenious way of swapping the battery unit's positions, (the single battery unit will actually charge as you drive) then perhaps you can drive for a much longer time, or even forever.
    I think that a lithium capacitor would work far better in this case though as there will most likely be a lot of amperage going through.

    Do your thing and enjoy life as you go and let the nay sayings muck around in the pig dung where they belong. I challenge those that left rude comments to do better...
    It's one thing if they left comments about possible better ways to do it or better yet, left USEFUL IDEAS but to try and bring another down is just BULLIE LIKE...
    I learned long ago, as I am 53 years old, that Sticks and Stones will break my bones but NAMES will never HURT ME. When you acknowledge them in your video you give them the credit they seek to only do more next time. Don't mention it and keep doing your thing...

      jehugarcia I feel your pain, working with a limited budget bites monkey balls and not in a good way... LOL... With regards to defending yourself don't give in or up. You may not be able to afford an attorney but you still can represent yourself, so make sure you do. I don't recall you saying his name in any way, shape, or form, so he is just once again trying to bully you so don't let him. There is no way he could win because the only thing you said was "someone said" and since you did not name him specifically, he does not have a chance to win; unless you don't show... Oh, now that I've read your comment again, you did say on your last episode so I am referring to this video. If you've said his name directly in another video so what. I'm no lawyer but I do know this is America and we are still FREE to say what ever we want. If I were you, if he does bring a case against you I would counter sue him to show how he has threatened you and how he is costing your business venture and let the cards fall where they may. It might cost you filing fees, but I don't know for sure. Filing fees are not much compared to the slim attorney that will cost him. I say this because I grow tired of bullies as I have dealt with more than my share along the years. Even if you said Joe Blow is my biggest critic and he says this or that, Joe Blow has NO CASE because your words have done him NO WRONG. Your words have not caused him to seek a therapist or anything like that so what's his beef other then to be an ASS? Stand up for your rights.

    I don't see any balance leads on your batteries. how do you balance every individual cell, compared to every other cell. So you don't overcharge 1 and under charge the other ?
    Also is it smart to glue the copper bar right against the sides of batteries ?

      You don't need balancing for his design.. he us running every cell together.. for a total voltage of 4.2v. they balance themselves. now if he had multiple cells in series for higher voltage packs i would agree with you.. but with his design the entire pack changes voltage together, one cannot be higher than the others or it would discharge into the others. the drawback is that if one cell fails, it will bring down the entire pack.. but that is why he fused the cells, if one cell shorted out and tried to draw too much current the fuse would simply blow and the pack would live on. my question is how is he boosting the low 4.2v to something high enough to run a electric motor.

    Power = Voltage x Current
    W = 3.7V x 20A
    W = 74
    Energy = Voltage x Current x time
    W time = V x I x time
    W hour = 3.7V x [3000 mAh]
    W hour = 3.7V x 3 Ah
    Wh = 11.1
    That simple.
    And for reference,
    1000 Wh = 1 kWh [1 Electrical Unit],
    which is what our kWh energy meter uses in home
    ________________________________
    mAh and Ah which are seriously flawed unit (which doesn't take voltage into account),
    which is normally used by manufacturers and marketers to misguide people !!
    Professional and universal unit for energy are,
    kWh or Wh.
    I mean, these all of us use kWh meter in home, kWh in Tesla car,
    and 1000 Wh = 1 kWh.
    (how else simple do you want ??)
    Still people use mAh and Ah, wonder how lame can they get !!!
    And for comparison (different rechargeable battery types):
    AAA [NiMH] = 1 Wh
    AA [NiMH] = 2.5 Wh
    AA [Li ion] = 3 Wh
    C [NiMH] = 5 Wh
    D [NiMH] = 10 Wh
    18650 [Li ion] = 8 to 13 Wh (high drain to high capacity)
    26650 [Li ion] = 14 to 18 Wh
    ______________________________
    Average energy of Tesla battery are around 11 Wh [18650],
    and to make a Tesla P100D [100 kWh] Model S,
    = 100 kWh / 11 Wh
    = 100, 000 Wh / 11 Wh
    = 9091 batteries
    or in simple words,
    9091 [18650 battery] x 11 Wh = 100,000 Wh = 100 kWh.
    ______________________________
    So i would seriously recommend 18650 enthusiasts to use Wh and kWh [our universal unit] instead of flawed mAh and Ah which are way too childish unit for energy !!

      I stopped using solder on battery bars for high current packs. It can easily break and melt. Now I build pre-wired battery cases that allow me to simply drop the cells in, put the lid on and bolt the flanges down to guarantee a solid connection without the possibility of a solder or battery bar failure. All it takes to do this is a piece of sheet rock(you can use plywood but there is a chance of fire), spade bit that is the same size as your cells, battery bars and springs(for constant tension, not 100% required if your case is perfect).

    I have uploaded it type (gary lewsam) to see video. It is fan cooled with monitoring and now balancing circuits added. Was around 200mv out of balance without when charged. I can draw 250Amps peaks of 350Amps. You can buy spot welder from ebay £150 saved a lot of time. I practiced on the old dead cells untill settings where right. Im getting around 5-6 kw hours seams to be improving with use. Battery is around 70 kilo including enclosure. I get around 25 miles at the moment expect may go to 30 with a few alterations ongoing.
