  • This was such a fun project! We upgraded my sons' room from a nursery to a little boys room and we knew a rock climbing wall would be a hit! Both my kids love climbing and having their own indoor climbing wall has been a great way to expend energy while also working on their climbing skills! This was a pretty simple project and we were able to complete it all in one day! Aaron gets credit for the build of this climbing wall and he explains how he built it in this video! If you have any questions for Aaron about this project, please leave a question in the comments below!

This looks so good well done !!
I’m looking to do similar but all the walls are plaster board so you think it’s still ok to drill a piece of wood straight on to plaster board ?

why didnt you use a frame in front of the drywall?

I've seen these built before and everyone seems to use frames to help support the weight... isn't it dangerous to screw it straight into the studs?

Yeah if you have 9 year olds climbing…. Not dangerous for little kids.

    Hi!
thanks for the excellent video guide. I have made notes.
I wanted to know when is a good age for a kid to start climbing on such setup. I ask because my daughter is 26 months and already has a great balance and climbs on my knees to turn on light switches and stuff. I figured it would be good to introduce her to climbing. thanks again

You gotta switch to years after 24 months 🤣

My 2 & 3 year old love theirs. It depends on your child & their autonomy. My kids have been climbing since they could walk. I put a crash pad underneath mine, then worked with them on showing them how to climb the lower pegs; then slowly work their way up.
