I tried to be fair in my comparison… but Saltwash is just better. Lol quality.
I use the soda method all the time..I add a little more soda than you did and it comes out beautifully and very textured. I wanted to try the salt wash method but it is way too expensive..I recently watched an episode of Our Upcycled Life and she has a recipe for salt wash using pickling salt that you can just make yourself at a much lesser cost than buying the salt wash..

When I mixed it thicker on a previous project, I didn’t get good results. Maybe I need to play with it more.
The saltwash is just such a great smooth consistency when applying, I fell in love. It is pricey, I agree!
