Couple minutes after opponent scouting your main, build a pylon in your main and say "glhf" as though you just returned from AFK.

Hi Marc, imagine your opponent also does “pretend to be AFK” and you both wait for the other guy to scout while developing at the corner until you both reached 200.
I believe someone would eventually use cloaked scout to figure out wtf is going on, that would be a highlight. xD

Something like that happened on the old When Cheese Fails series by Novawar and MaximusBlack. One of the players pretended to be AFK by building a CC and flying it into a corner, then repositioning his SCVs like he had never done anything (as Marc mentions in the video here, it was before the workers started harvesting automatically). The idea, presumably, was that his enemy would come into his base, see that nothing was there, kill him and then see the game not end - and would leave under the assumption that the game was glitched.
He got hard countered. Because the other player was possibly in tin league, maybe copper but definitely not bronze or higher. The AFK faker went truly AFK for half an hour, only to find that the game was ongoing...

He's barely scratching the surface of this thinking potential. Try sending e workers out to attack their builders it is excruciating for them to coordinate their followup.

Florencio pioneered a strat where he built a nexus under the enemy wall just outside their base and if you position your units correctly in the recall cursor you can recall them into the enemy base.
This is going to be a great series!
I suggest you stack 2 probes when scouting the opponent's base (make sure they see you), then splitting them up when out of vision to then build the proxy Nexus in their main base.

This is exactly the strat! I'm surprised this isn't more popular at the high level. For example, I think it could really elevate Harstem's cheesiest man alive series. I've never seen him do it either, only Florencio. Maybe thermy will popularize it. I've been waiting for a pro to use it lol

It would be really fun if you watched the replays after and showed their camera at the beginning to see their reactions. I think it would be really fun and educational to see what their response is and how they change up their build

you could probably build probes from your main nexus and hide them in the corner of your base, then you can recall them to your hidden base, or you could send them back to mine after you get scouted

this makes no sense. he cuts production when he thinks he'll get scouted. when is he gonna build more probes from his main? it's not like the scout is going to leave. the whole point is to not be producing when the scout shows up
Florencio has some 500 IQ proxy nexas cheeses. I think you can build the nexas on the low ground, next to their base and if you position your units correctly in the 'recall circle' thing they will recall to the high ground
I have read that such thing is connected with adepts' shadows. Something like "if you recall adepts with active shadows, then after recall they will be recalled with offset based on their shadow position related to them". But I'm not sure if it is true.
The Florencia strategy was always one of my favorites. Just recalling a ton of zealots into the enemies base. I would love to see you pressure the front a bit and back off, then recall to the main to just blow their mind.
I don't know if you've heard of Florencio, but he was the first one I've seen doing some very cheesy proxy nexus strategies and they were always very entertaining. Hopefully they'll bring you some success as well!
Florencio has a trick that may help you plant a Nexus in your enemies base in PvP.
He gets two probes to rally into one model by getting them to rally repeatedly to an unfinished assimilator. Then he sends “one” probe to scout the enemy base. While you’re scouting inside the base you select one and quickly pull it to the corner.
Give it a try.

I remember Florencio using a proxy Nexus to recall zealots and probes to his enemy's base years ago. I feel old now.

you know the dutch have a way with water and canals and florencio is famous for living in a certain type of underground canal :D
when you say "proxy nexus" I always think of the flo build, where you make a bunch of units on one base and build a nexus in the enemies main. then recall your army into his main (some versions have shield bats on the low ground to heal your units in his main)

Hope uThermal gets into commentary at the SC2 tournaments. Some of the casters they have now are horrible some are great. I think uThermal would be great at it.

That last game was the coolest of the 3, the proxy Nexus using recall is what I wanted to see, just needs battery support.

Sometimes when I get really high, I try your tactics. Not only do they not work because I am not that fast, but my opponents ask me if I have lost my mind. You're the best!
Thanks for finally doing this! Protoss is my fav race and seeing it combined with your entertainment will be brilliant, I don't mind that its you messing it around, just makes it more entertaining when you win haha

A few ideas for future series! As an opposite to Speedrun SC2, instead of winning within 6 minutes, how about not attacking within 10 minutes! “Pacifist to GM”
Maybe this next idea is too similar/the ideas could be combined; must do a double expo opener build, so take two expansions as fast as “reasonably” possible. “Greed to GM” series!
Another idea if you want to get into 2v2 more would be having a lower ranked ally you have to babysit; “Babysitter to GM” series! I’ll be selfish and suggest my Gold/Platinum (if those exist anymore; it’s been a long while…) abilities would be a good fit, but that’s of course totally up to you ;)

You can proxy a hidden nexus in their base and recall units in. Would work well on that map with a massive main base.
You could also just proxy close to their base, build lots of cannons and batteries at both bases, and then slowly creep forward with tempests from your proxy base.

Challenge suggestion: Play Zerg and play your opponent race with Infestors.
Sadly it takes WAY too long to be viable; teching up to infestor just to restart their tech. If you got separate supply so could have 200/200 zerg + 100/100 whatever race they had, it would be.... possibly okay (turtle hard while teching up the alternate race) but the problem is that's not really a fun match for the other player and would take Forever so it's "bad for the game" and thus is discouraged imo.
the best version of this I've seen is a Terran who made a 2nd command center and floated it of screen with scv inside it... then left his starting scv around his main base to make it look like he never loaded into the game... and just waited for his opponent to leave out of confusion
I was actually gonna comment and say I've tried the whole nexus near their base, defend their first push and then immediately recall over, but my gawd man you did it. Epic fun. This is gonna be a great series.
Watching the Florencio files by PiG (especially episode 28) might help with this series.

I'm really looking forward to seeing a game where they go, "Oh, he must be doing a proxy gate! I found the proxy gates! Wait... Why is there a nexus and a cybercore and a robo and shield batteries coming up? Why is he expanding across MY side of the map and denying access to the far bases? Noooooooo!" I've seen those kinds of map denial and map control fights as a central point in plenty of BW games but SC2 styles of play seem to entirely eschew it. It's really refreshing and fun seeing it go back towards that kind of chaos in a sustained macro game, instead of just being an all in cheese.
I think you can safely squeeze out a few more probes.. send 5 to the corner together, and then chrono out 5 from you main nexus.

I need you to know, I started playing ladder on Sunday. Within my first 5 games after placement I was proxy hatched/spine rushed 3 times and dunked on every one thanks to your vids. Once I figure out how to play Zerg late game I might even get out of plat 😂
inject and spread creep on cooldown, go to 60 drones, then hold R button, you will make it to masters easily. you only need 2 fingers on each hand. its almost as easy as playing protoss.
Its wild out there. The only people that want to play longer than 4 minutes put planetaries and tanks on every base or sit behind a cannon/battery wall and mass carriers xD.

Since your doing proxy Nexus.. go 3 base +1 charglot rush and hit by 4:45 or 5 min ... Goes something like.
Early probe to the proxy, low ground pylon, gas, then proxy Nexus, gate, natural nexus, forge, make sure to wall of course stay on one gas early and you will have just enough for +1 charge and warp gate by the time you hit it will all be finished around 5 min... So 3 bases should be fully saturated.. and you have to play very tight smart with plenty of baits and fast fingers
Very intense fast past build works best vs. zerg worst vs Terran. Maybe vs. Terran skip +1 and get a warp prism... You should also have about 8-15 gates by the time you hit also I like to call them the "floodlots" because no one likes 30+ +1 zealots in their base around the 5:30 second mark
So THIS is why a dude recalled a bunch of adepts in my base, at first I didn't even know what was happening, your influence on the ladder is insane!

Marc, it's very common on the low ladder level (up to platinum) to proxy the main building, so players are often scouting around map for these proxies. 😀
I know because I am a Gold peasant and I have to deal with this crap a lot.
Fake cannon rush into real proxy nexus rush would be friggin hilarious.
"This can't possibly work as a series" - me, immediately prior to being proven wrong time and time again.
It would be interesting to see how you cope with a cannon rusher who knows what they are doing.
I am not all that experienced, especially compared to you, but here's my estimation on the first game:
Your opponent was checking for Skytoss proxy rush. He saw that you didn't cannon rush him, which happens literally all the time on the ladder, he saw that you hadn't done anything in your main (not even gas), so he checked for a proxy and found one. The cyclones are probably either because he just likes cyclones, or because he was preparing to counter skytoss.
(Edit) The second guy did it too. Nevermind. I have no idea why they keep doing cyclones.
