Another way to get your chimney coal started without using paper or those fuel starters, put it over your side burner until it starts! I mean, it's built on to your grill ;-)

Husband bought this magnificent grill for me. He and I had to open the box and remove rhe pieces one by one from our truck bed and struggled to get the barrel base and lid to the ground. A lot to put together, took use almost 2 hours from opening the box to all ready to go. We may never good inside again! Easy to use, built like a locomotive and easy to use! I want the mitt, chimney charcoal starter and cleaver next. Shopping for a good rack of ribs now? Jack Snow, you are great!

For anything Char grill you HAVE TO season thee entire grill during the initial burn off! They rust pretty easy if you don't. I seasoned mine and my buddy didn't his rusted out in a year and a half. Mines still going strong 3yrs! Use lard or bacon grease, it works better than cooking oil to season. Also if you plan on smoking with the char grill you need to get a gasket around the edges, it helps retain the heat and smoke flavor. The bbq dragon fan is meant to pair with the dragon chimney... The kit is close to 50bux, I just bought a small clip fan with 2 speeds and use that at the intake tube it has and saved myself like 30bux lol the fan shipped was only 13bux.... The fan is not meant to stoke ashed coals, but to make the starting process go faster. And it does! Especially if you are a mesquite fan boy you will love the dragon chimney! I should know I only use mesquite lol. Good grillin guys! Much love! Oh and season the grates in the oven not on the grill

Been there done that - it takes awhile to figure this grill out when putting it together. I cant believe you put the fire starter on your grate, but at least you removed the grate when you did the offset fire. One word of wisdom on this grill - if you leave it out uncovered in the rain make sure you empty the drain pain under the side burner, it always fills with water when it rains (and leaves in the fall, etc.)

I never owned a gas grill but I'm in 😍. Not as much as smoking or charcoal though. And as you stated it is heavy so if you have two people it's best for loading and unloading. As far as assembly it can be done alone but recommend 2 ppl.

Yes the wood chunks will always beat out the pellet smoker. Now the Pellet smoker does allow for precise temp control where as a chunk wood smoker takes a lot of practice to zone in and get the temp right. And it is way easier to over smoke the meat using wood chunks. So you trade off easy of use and temp control for less smoke in the pellet smoker. You should try one of the Komado smokers or an Orion smoker, both are real good for getting that smoky taste! (Yes I have a lot of grills cause I got a sickness...just can't help it some people collect cars.. I collect grills) (yup weird I know)

    • @lesthomasson7220

It definitely needs a brace underneath the fire box. But that’s the only place to put a tow handle since it has the side burner on other side. An idea, maybe, go to tractor supply. Buy 4 new wheels that swivel and lock and mount them on the legs. Then you could just push it around where you need it and lock it in place. Just brainstorming here.

I bought this yesterday and returned it. Propane side got too hot. Put it on the lowest setting, opened door, turned off middle burner, ugh too much work. Also the actual cooking area is small compared to my old dual version. I also didn't like the two grills connected and just divided with a metal wall.

Nice grill, I am not mistaken with another grill the side burner is a chimney starter
