I don't know, maybe his newer sound just isn't for me. But this-- he'll never put another song as good as this. This blows his entire discography out of the ballpark. I feel like nowadays, Travis has to craft his music for the audience _outside_ of the Hip-Hop/Rap scene. However, I'm fully willing to accept the fact that I could be completely wrong about this theory. But for some reason, whenever they originally recorded this song, you can tell that they had no care-- they just had fun and made what felt right to them. A song like this just can't be remade because nowadays it has to be media friendly for things like award shows, commercials, and things of that nature. I miss the Rodeo days.

And yes, Rodeo is a product of its time where the 808 Mafia camp was dominating hip-hop sound along with the likes of Metro Boomin and Allen Ritter. I feel like with Astroworld Travis' goal was to make something with so many layers to it creation-wise. Rodeo probably had nowhere near the amount of editing that Astroworld did. So yes, artistically Astroworld had more to it than Rodeo.
I kind of like Chief Keef's lines in this track. He just gets straight the point... he just get turnt up. Also like his commentary on moving up on food chain from Mc Donalds to Curry and Spicy Garlic :D

I’m 19 now and I randomly stumbled upon this song again and it really took me back to 2015/16 life was so different back then for me and it sucks that this song never got the popularity it deserves it’s honestly a top five Travis song.
