Buy me a coffee: buymeacoffee.c... After two earlier (failed) attempts to record how to clean an old Lima motor, this is take number 3. In this 20 minute video I demonstrate how to take apart and clean a Lima motor with simple household items. #treinbaan

Even you uploaded this seven years ago it was at the right time for me to watch it today.
Never done any servicing yet, but after unpacking my trains that have been stored for 16 years it's necessary I reckon.
Great video and thank you very much.

The old Lima pancake motor is one of the most reliable and easily
repaired model train power units ever. This is why there are still so
many old Lima trains out there and running. Was never given the credit
it deserved back in the day. But now it has become kind of legendary and
for good reason. Also Mazok Rot and Zinc Pest will never be a problem
    for Lima locos.

Hey sorry for the late answer. For as far as I know it will not damage your motor and I expect it will remove the dirt just as well. You can always try it out on old equipment or similar materials to be sure.

Hola, yo uso alcohol isopropílico para limpiar el motor, ya que este alcohol no tiene agua y no daña para nada el material. Eso sí no debe tener contacto con la pintura del modelo, saludos
