Так что будете покупать китайский дивайс - делите китайские вольты на 13, чтобы получить реальные европейские. Европейские 400 кВ пробивают 16 см воздуха между *плоскими* электродами.

I'm guessing that the physics behind this is that the capacitor acts as a short circuit between the 2 terminals At the beginning of the cycle... Then as the capacitor plates get charged up it changes behavior from being a Short circuit to an open circuit... Because the plates are fully charged. At that point all that charge has to go someplace so it bridges the air gap between the 2 prongs but not only does it have the output of the transformer to push it across at fairly high voltage... It also has the charge built up in the capacitor to add to that. The end result being a massively higher voltage to make the spark a lot more impressive. Then the process starts again, and this process happens hundreds of times per second. Pretty dang cool, I'll have to remember that.
I just “discovered” these capacitors after taking apart a CHEAP USB bug zapper at a thrift store. I was trying to make a battery powered black light. It worked once I took this capacitor off. But then I started messing with the cap with my electric arc lighter. Big volts!

мне вот что не ясно, как он эти 40KVDC пробивает не внутри 1600вольтового лавсанового конденсатора, а накапливает на нём пробивая только снаружи...? а может на стержнях тут переменка вторички? тогда схема накачки(драйвер и ключи)расскачивает контур паралельный из вторички и конденсатора вплоть до высоких напряжений, я получал из 200VAC 3KHZ от 20VAC 3KHz sine wave от выхода для 4ом100втколонок усилителя УМЗЧ Кумир 35-102 ус1 вроде модель, эт была катушка(бобина)зажигания от зил 130,можно от жигулей пониже на дюйм и не такая нзкоомная в классике она тогда 6500гц КПД дает наивысший, расачивается последовательно через 0.1мкф 250в конденсатор, отличное наглядное пособие по практике колеб контура, без конднсатора искра от 20вац на первичке и 3кгц всегт 1мм на выходе вторички бобины,изза инжуктивного импеданса реактивного, последоваьельный кол контур в резонасе имеет чисто активное сопротивлеие,реактивность пропадает взаимо компенсируясь коденсатором и индуктивностью(первичка бобины),при этом малое напряжение качает большим током вдруг начинающий потреблять нзкоомно посл контур эл це, в котором за каждое колебание примерно по 20в нарастание напряжения колебаний, иустаканивается на 200вац тоесть добротность ку=10, д тангенс угла птерь 0.1, тоесть 10%потери э амплитуды за период, и при 10кратном напяжении достигаемлм раскачиваясь в противофазе конд. до 200вац и индуктивность тоже до 200вац меж ними чуть сдвига фаз которые 20вац усилка в контуре составляют, тогда птери на 200вац уравновешивают 20вац усилка, и точность резонанса надо сигнал генератором + - 2Гц накручивать, тогда от 3кгц 15мм длины искра орёт 6000пробоев в секунду, но вот ведь в чёмдело, это так на слюдяном конденсаторе КСО, на К78 ПолиПропиленовом, на К71 вроде бы -полистирольном, но когда дешевый и компактный в 3..5раз К73 лавсан полиэстер подсоединил, пик стал холмом + - 200гц, центром на техже 3КГц, но лишь ку=3... 60вац раскачка с 20вац усилка и искра пару мм всего, а через минуту лавсановый конденсатор вспыхнул огнём как резистор,вот потому не ясно что у автора видео, наверно постоянка, на нй лавсан и пробить трудно и потерь на нагрев нет, которые вообще о том, что выше 1кгц малопригодны и напряжения вдесятеро ниже мжно тоькр давать им, сквзвно в ГОСТе на К73 ПЭТФ полиэстер, РЕТ,включая желтые Х1 Х2 Y1 Y2 в фильтрах ИБП стоят на входе сети 220вац50гц ,завлекая покупателей лавсаном дешевфм, с маркировкой МКР, не имеющей отношения к полипропилеңовым PP, KP, MKP конденсаторам которые незаменимы в индукционных нагреватедях металла с алиэкспресс покупңых ибыстрых в лтличие от самодеок с лавсан конд. греющимися вместо металла в соленоиде...
