Where did you get the launch options from? The field is just blank by default and will not start.
Followed all the steps but when i open cyberpunk in parsec on the steam deck it doesnt recognize the steam deck controller. Am i missing something?
I am getting weird stuck inputs, when I'm opening parsec on the deck in the Gamepad mapping you can see it clearly - do you know why?
Hey thanks man, after a few minutes of figuring out why it hasn't worked. I went back and check my slashes and rechecked if i entered the command to the exact. I tried it without removing the @@u @@ and it works in the steam client.
I have the Issue that it only uses Software Decoding in Game Mode. Wich is pretty slow. Any Solutions to this?
I got parsec but on properties the launch options is completely blank what do I need 2 do?

when using it for 2 players, if i give my friend keyboard and mouse can he navigate my screen adn setup his controller in desktop mode
quick kinda unrelated i use pc to host files in a particular program- touch designer. i like to connect my surface pro via parsec. trying to plug in my stream deck into surface pro my stream deck imputs do not seem to flow through parsec into my Main PC. the same situation happens when i try a touch portal work around.... same prob imputs get to the surface but not through parsec into my main pc into touch designer. or even into the search bar. ex making a virtual key press 1 or low level does not flow through either device into my main pc.... any thoughts would be much appreciated.
The Steam Deck's controller doesn't work in Parsec. It loops inputs.
I changed the start in path the exact way you showed through steam. But I'm confused when you say change it back to bin. Do I erase a portion of the path name if I select the parsec file for the path?
Yes exactly that. If you manually typed in the change to the top part then you don’t need to change the second part. But in short make sure the bottom part matches the video after the changes as well.
Sorry for the unrelated question but how did you put Titanfall into the Steam interface as a single game icon? Thanks to you I've been able to install Origin and Titanfall on the Deck but I always have to run the Origin launcher to get to Titanfall 2 and well, let's say that launcher doesn't work particularly smooth on SteamOS...
Haha no it does not, you can also get EA play directly on Steam, which TitanFall 2 is a part of, however for every game it still installs the Origin Think client the first time you run it. The annoyance is they are separate subs, EA play on Steam is not the same as EA play Pro directly, but Origin versions can activate some Steam versions.

How to make it work today - just install parsec from Discover, then delete the line "start in". I also deleted both @@s and it launched successfully, but this may be not necessary.

@La cabaña de Munchie What did you do differently? I am trying to get it running in game mode on my deck. I deleted everything in the "start in" line, IE it is now blank and I no longer have the @@u @@ for the launch options. Mine just endlessly loads, anything else you did specifically to get it to run?

For better content. Don't do anything shown in the video. Instead add it to steam and delete the text in start line and it should open up just fine. Inwas a lil counfsed I was looking for the words start in in the actual code with @@u @@

Getting really bad input lag using Parsec that I don't get in moonlight or steam remote play... Sucks because otherwise Parsec would be the best option

for me the controller is crazy and moves alone in parsec but a bluetooth controller works..
I also did this to start my lost ark. And i know my wifi is pretty stable but still I get the wifi icon in my parsec. Do you have the same problem when running parsec on your deck?

that wasn't supported previously, but you can use KDE to some stuff like that now

This video needs a serious update. Installing Parsec on the Deck has changed since last year.

Hi, can you please make a video in which showing how we can stream to CZcams or Twitch with the Steam Deck itself through gamemode if possible? So far I have been able to stream via OBS but I'd prefer recording it through game mode if possible as there seems to be frame drop playing through desktop and streaming.
The Apu isn’t really good enough to play and stream off the device, especially games that run under 60Fps. You are better off using an external capture card if you want to stream.
Do you have the issue of a pc not being able to connect to the deck? Cause my parsec runs fine, it can connect to my pc, my friends pcs etc, but when anyone trys to connect to the deck, it doesnt work.
You cant host on Linux or even MacOS because those platforms are missing an low latency API or something like that

I’m having an issue, when I go in the Var > Lib > Flatpak > App folders Parsec doesn’t show up on that folder, please help
Parsec is now located in a different area. You now have to set your "Start In" option to the following:
"/home/deck/.local/share/flatpak/app/com.parsec/current/active/files/bin"
You should not have to modify your Launch Options to remove "@@u" and "@@", but try it if it doesn't work at first.
Parsec no longer seems to use the directory under /lib, I also noticed very few of my flatpaks do now.
We have a newer video of how to run flatpacks on steam deck. That may be more relevant to this now.

FOR EVERYONE WONDER WHY THE INPUT IS NOT WORKING: You will need to set the controller for parsec in game mode to "gamepad with Mouse trackpad" Then i would also set the left trackpad click to right click mouse and set the right trackpad to left click mouse...
That way you can use the mouse cursor. This shouldn't affect any games you pay via parsec but your mileage may vary. I would just use steam link tbh but i would understand why not.

I know this video is a year old, but will running Parsec through Emudec instead of Desktop mode prevent any form of input delay or latency when playing multiplayer games with friends?

Yes and no, it detects controller, but if you press dpad buttons it stays pressed
so i got it working BUT is there a way to get the steam deck as the host because right now i can only get my own pc as the host, would i have to make a new account on my steam deck in order to have it as the host?

is parsec better than using moonlight? I kind of prefer using Parsec but not sure how it runs on non-desktop platforms. Android it kinda sucks
yeah Parsec on android is loaded with issues. So frustrating
Moon light is better in theory and supports hdr, but I have had nothing but problems with it, parsec is more stable, but for me I need to use h.265 decoding otherwise get pixelation of the pic, and hdr does not work properly but still looks amazing with 444 chroma.
How did you delete the @@u ? I still can't run it

Follwed this to a T, and it still won't boot:) Target says "/usr/bin/flatpack" and the Start In is the file path you specified. I removed the @@ u@@ also. Is there a recent update that changed this process?

I've followed the steps exact but the application just doesn't open. When I try open the app it instantly closes..
do you have the path variables correct? also one of the other commenters said they had to leave in the @@ stuff now, try that?

You don’t need to do this on windows. Just install as normal
Interesting problem I had with Parsec on Linux connecting to my Windows 10 PC: The Deck's Controller buttons get stuck or don't activate some times. And this is not just happening in a particular game, I can open up Windows "Game Controllers" on my PC using Parsec on my Steam Deck and I can test the buttons there. So it's like:
- 2/10 times when I press a button = that button doesn't activate
- 2/10 times when it activates = it stays activated until I click it again
I also have Windows on my Steam Deck and installed Parsec there. Using Glossi to target Parsec (but I'm sure you could use any other WinDeck controller software) I connected to my PC and every input that I was sending was right on the money. No issues or bugs. So there must be something with the Linux Version that doesn't like sending controller inputs.

Sharing the Steam Deck via Parsec isn't working at the moment, but you can use the Steam Deck to Remote to other PC's fine

Thanks for the help, looks like you can just add the program and just delete the "start in" field now and launches fine.
Problem I have now is the Steam Deck controller doesn't play nice with Parsec. Sometimes the inputs don't register properly and then sometimes they just remain pressed.
Any suggestions to fix this?

i used parsec on the deck in desktop mode, tested a few games like, death stranding, forza horizon5, batman arkham knight which i stream from my local game pc.
There is an awfull issue which involves input freeze, for example when you press a button that button is constantly pressed, as an example; in racing gamess when you turn left, nd you want to turn right, the car will repeat moving left although your pressing right button, you can only revoke the issue to press the left button then it resets the input issuse and you can move left to right, however this keeps happening frequently within 1 min ingame or even 20min, happens to all my games.
im not sure if playing parsec through game mode fixes this issue, anyone an idea or have same experience ?
I had the same issue which I am trying to resolve. Moonlight with a vpn worked better. I believe maybe it has something to do with not using hardware decoding.
@@MichaelStinnette I know about Moonlight, however if you have AMD gpu your out of luck.
As such, Parsec for steamdeck which you can find from the discover me app is not an officially supported app by parsec itself I was told, someone just ported the app to be used on steamdeck which sucks. I have contacted Parsec support through discord and they dont support parsec for the steamdeck.
Getting the official parsec app for linux installed on the deck seems to requires some linux knowledge, its not a simple installation.
Have you tried to use a WEB version instead of one from Discover Store?
It seems it does not have controller problem and can be setup as Xbox or GeForce Now app, there is a video on the channel.
How about Google remote desktop. I just don't think you can remote into steam deck with parsec it just be kind of nice if I could remote in without having to hook up all my stuff love your work thanks

You don't host from the Steam Deck, you can only connect to other hosts

Oh wait, I've got it, I just started back from the top and it worked this time. I think what I did was set the target to "usr/bin/flatpak" instead of "/usr/bin/flatpak" forgetting the slash at the beginning. Regardless, it's fixed now! :)

I hadn't gotten the 'start in' parameter correct, it works now, but honestly the colors are so blown out I don't imagine using parsec for game streaming with my computer.

Works in desktop mode, but not in "regular" mode. In regular mode it just endless loops and never launches.
Nvm. Changing the staring resolution to "native" did the trick

IMO It might be a bit overkill to use steam deck for remote gaming. I think using Android phone and USB-C gamepad is cheaper and more than enough. But more option is always better.
If Browse doesn't work for you, switch to desktop mode. I'm dumb and didn't realize he was in desktop mode.
