I came on here just to say this! How the flip are people making their turkeys dry?? That's awful! My turkey is beautiful and moist Every. Single. Holiday. One of the secrets is you always butter it up and season on the outside before throwing it in the oven, and then you seal in the juices by having it just on a shallow pan and browning it at 450ïŸF for 30 minutes or so. *Make sure you have some kind of huge cookie sheet underneath to catch any grease that drips out* Right before it gets really dark on the skin, you turn it right down to 300ïŸF, cover it up so it's almost airtight, and cook it for however many hours the recipe calls for. Always make sure whatever you cook it in is very deep cuz it needs to catch all the drippings and juices. Like 3 - 4 inches deep. When you pull it out after it's done roasting, use the drippings for your gravy.
Thereâs no excuse for dry turkey, you can brine it and cook in a smoker or the oven. Itâs key to get a good thermometer so you can be confident your temperature is accurate, chefs use thermoworks brand thermometers and you canât buy it anywhere other than their site.
Turkey is good too if you donât get it in roasted form (super dry), it taste so good when you get smoked turkey from honey baked ham (yes they have turkey), just had some today on thanksgiving and it was so good, had some with some cranberry sauce and mmm đ€€ it was so good. The mac and cheese, Collard greens, ima start drooling. Ham too, mm mm MMMmm. Have a good night yâall enjoy your leftovers đđŸ
Mac n cheese, Turkey, & Mashed Potatoes top 3 for me. Most people make turkey dry as shit tho so I donât blame the bias towards it. Green bean casserole & broccoli casserole are my 2 honorable mentions that my family makes every year cuz they fire too. đŁïž
Y'all need to come over to my house man, my mom has never made a dry turkey on her life missing out. But nah, I agree with that lady. Stuffing is freaking gross man XD. But period on that green bean casserole, one of the best foods đ„
definitely a huge problem with drying out a turkey. the mear is very lean with next to no fat. need some of those weathered and wintered turkeys. or cook it with boiling and then roasting the outside.
I definitely will have to say dinner rolls. Cranberry sauce on the other hand can save a dry ass turkey take a little bit of cranberry sauce with the turkey on each bite game changer
My dad smoked a turkey for thanksgiving and it was the best turkey Iâve ever had. When he cooked it he accidentally cooked it upside down which made it really juicy. It was literally dripping. The only problem was that because he didnât know it was upside down all of the seasoning was on the bottom so basically no seasoning, but it was so good. He did inject it to so yeah it was the best turkey Iâve ever had
My favorite food on Thanksgiving is literally stuffing I donât know why but to me it is so delicious. Probably my least favorite part is probably the turkey it is way to dry and they have to season it really well to make it taste good but my second favorite would probably be the green bean casserole. That is so good too if itâs made correctly.
If the turkey is dry, someone isn't cooking it right or you eat the dark meat that's under the bird. The portion of the bird that's been cooking in the juices. Yummmmmmy! đđđšđŠ
Anybody & I repeat ANYBODY who says green bean casserole is the best thing for Thanksgiving grew up on the streets I feel so sorry for you & Turkey should NEVER be dry
Iâve hear a lot of people saying turkey is dry, thatâs because it wasnât done right. I personally used to hate turkey for the same reason. And when I started having thanksgiving with my in laws I started loving it. My in laws make turkey that is just like butter super soft, and moist. So know when someone says they donât like turkey I tell them the same it wasnât cooked right.
Dude I would agree with TurkeyâŠif it wasnât for the fact that my mom usually makes it but this year me and my dad cooked and FINALLY we had a fully cooked Turkey that was delicious, so juicy and just pure heaven. My dad also made a damn good chowder out of it afterwards đđ So usually Iâd agree with the Turkey one cause my mom doesnât use a fucking thermometerâŠalso her cooking is questionable in general⊠thank you dad for teaching me how to cook.
