Fun fact Nathan, when this song was released it charted at the same time BTS was charting with Life Goes On (Korean) and Dynamite (English) which made BTS the only group to ever have 3 songs charting in 3 different languages

We forgive you! Also I asked my husband for the series from Talk to Me in Korean last year for Christmas and he didn’t get it so crossing my fingers for this year. I want to learn so I can enjoy my favorite band BTS but I also really love K dramas

Jimin was recently interviewed for a report in GQ magazine. To the question: What is the key to BTS has managed to overcome language barriers? - the most touching part of Jimin's answer: 'So, in the end, it's not really about language, but the heart that bridges the gap.' So nice.

I don’t get it when I hear people say they don’t listen to a song because they don’t understand the lyrics. Sometimes you have to put that aside because translations don’t always convey the exact feeling as the original language. I loved this song the first time I heard it and cried without know the lyrics. I could feel the pain in the song. Reminded me of my youngest sister who passed. It has a special place in my heart. Hope that makes sense. Love your reactions, Nathan. 💜
It does make sense. Our brains catch and process different communication stimuli besides verbal ones. Volume, intonation, body language, etc.

I know you rather watch the music videos than the live versions but when it comes to BTS, their lives are way better than their movies. There is something about watching them live and seeing their passion as they sing. It just hits different. Plus they have a tendency to hit higher notes than are sometimes no on the music videos. Great reaction, I always enjoy watching your reactions and hearing your perspective of things.

If you like this one, they have so many amazing Japanese songs. Their Japanese songs tend to hit very high on my list of favorite BTS songs. Let Go, Lights and Your Eyes Tell are among my favorites but you honestly can't go wrong with any of them! Crystal Snow is good for Jin, he really shines in Japanese songs. You should also check out Blue and Grey. Their vocals are all incredible but I think V really shines there. Btw, I just really love watching your expressions when Jimin sings. It's really nice to see people appreciate how great he is. I also suggest some of these you watch live. Mv's are great but with BTS, a lot of times it is even better live which is not something you can say for a lot of artists.

@@bee12117 but we weren't talking about who composed it. The rap line composes most songs and doesn't get a sliver of the recognition they deserve! In my opinion, and it's totally fine to have one, is that Jimin and Jin shine in Japanese Ballads and V shines in Blue and Grey. Jk shines in so many other things, as well as the rap line that I didn't mention either but you didn't even bat an eye so why not let the other guys have some recognition. You don't have to mention everyone, every time.

Actually many army say that their korean / japanese songs generally hit harder...and I feel like the intonation...just the sound of the words, not the songs itself, plays a huge role in that. I love their songs no matter which language they sing in but I think their japanese songs show emotions their korean / english songs never could and vice versa. It's truly fascinating! If I had to choose a single artist to listen to for the rest of my life it would for sure be BTS because they are the only ones that tick every genre I love and even made me love genres I never listened to before.

the sounds of japanese and korean are so beautiful, there's something round and lovely about both languages that makes them really nice to listen to even if you don't understand wtf anyone's saying. hahahah
I think it's better to review the video and the live performance. It's surprising, but they sound much better in a live performance. I have long noticed that Jimin’s vocals in live performances are much better and brighter.

I broke down in tears when I heard this song when it was released! I was on a 15 min break at work...and had to get myself back together afterwards! I love this song!
This was an original sound track (OST) for Signal a series which was about time travel - wish I could have seen it.
They sound great in any language. It’s amazing how fluently they sing this in Japanese. I like they way they sing ‘Your Eyes Tell’ as well.

"Film Out" was announced by BTS on February 16, 2021, as the ending theme for Signal the Movie Cold Case Investigation Unit (2021). The song was written by BTS member Jungkook in collaboration with the lead vocalist of Japanese rock power trio Back Number, Iyori Shimizu, and the track's producer UTA.

This MV was the mosr recent from the Bangtan Universe fictional storyline but tge song itself is an OST, ending theme song for the Japanese film Signal.

TRUE! I have more friends who started learning Korean just because of them! We are Hungarian - both languages are among the 10 most difficult worldwide - but they also want to really understand the beautiful lyrics - by heart, not by reading. BTS's impact is that insane! Quite amazing....

Your reactions are always interesting to watch. I thought someone would mention this is one of their OSTs (Original Soundtrack). This one is to the aforementioned Japanese movie titled, 'Time Out.' The movie is a bit similar to their own fictional storyline with the main character jumping around in time; however, 'Time Out' is a bit different (I do not want to ruin the plot for those who still has not seen the movie).

This song is the OST for a Japanese film of a Japanese series that is a remake of the original Korean drama series. There are all kinds of visual references to the plot of the series and film in the MV. The series is called Signal. The last time I checked, it was on Netflix, if your curious. It's a really good show, one of my favorite K-dramas. If you've seen the show, the references are very obvious but a lot of people haven't seen it and they think this is a part of the Bangtan Universe but it's really not. Just FYI.

You mention wishing you understood what they're saying, and I totally get that. I'm the same way, and I agree. Understanding the lyrics rather than just reading the translation of them in the captions makes for a very different experience. While I'm mostly not there yet with their Korean-language songs, I *do* speak enough Japanese that I'm able to understand their Japanese-language songs mostly on my own, which unsurprisingly makes Film Out one of my favorites in their discography.

To me, this seemed to be about death too (film out, as in, the film has run out, no new pictures/memories), but it came out right when someone I loved had died and I was months into that search for any picture or video of them, and that realization that I’d seen the last one. I’d never see a new moment of them again. Then blammo, this song comes out and punches me in the heart hahahahhahah

Being indian I can't understand korean and Japanese but I always admire their lyrics 💜 I'm also trying to learn Korean a little bit just to understand them better. Of course music have no language barrier. I already learnt 5 to 6 indian languages and I understand little bit thai also. I found korean, japanese and Chinese are little difficult 😅

I got into BTS days before it was released and as soon as it came out people were speculating that it’s a “good bye” song as Jin would have to leave us soon for the military because he played the role of the guy on the other side of the Mirror where the members weren’t 😂 it traumatizing me a little as a baby army in 2021
