  • The current base of MTV in Camden is undergoing a modernisation. It means the end of the famous TV-am frontage. Part of the old studios currently remain.

Sad, it was an iconic part of British TV history

I'm actually very much surprised that MTV kept the frontage and the eggs up all this time. I'd have thought pulling down the TVam frontage instead of trying to hide it would have been the first thing they did when they moved in (or certainly when they joined Sky Multichannels and stopped being MTV Europe)

What will happen in the future of TV-am studios?

It's owned by Viacom, who own MTV and Channel 5. They're already finished now, and it has to be said look much better than before. They've remained sympathetic to the colours of TV-am but it's much brighter and fun. Google "Viacom Camden" and you'll see what they've done.
