- The apostle Paul taught that a society’s moral collapse is evidence of God’s wrath. Walking us through Paul’s teaching on immorality in the opening chapter of Romans, Alistair Begg points out that the same issues that faced the early church-including sexual sin-still abound today. Rather than adapting to the world’s standards, however, the church is called to uphold the Bible’s authority with kindness and compassion, because all of us are sinners in need of God’s saving grace.

Dear anonymous, I do trust Pastor Begg’s teaching, he has been studying the Bible for more than 50 years, he has peen preaching for more than 45 years. I trust his teaching because I have been studying the Bible for more than 30 years myself and I recognize that pastor Begg teaches the truth of God’s word. His teaching is not twisted, it is truth, true is true, regardless of what is popular. It would be so much easier to go along with popular current ideas, but if you truly love people you must speak the truth, to do anything else would jeopardize the souls of precious people.

@@barbarareed9308 Sweet lady, Your generation did not search these verses, you went only by what leaders like Begg who told you how these verses should be read. You went to "preachers" of the Word, not real teachers of it. I know the koine Greek of what Paul says in Romans 1, translated word for word. What you see as a cultural shift against the Word of God on issues like homosexuality really is a future generations saying; "We will do as Paul tells us to do, have a defense for how we believe with going to the words of the Bible OURSELVES." This generation are seekers of the Word, not just listeners of it. And praise God it's about time! Public preachers like Begg have a very important part to play as they always have, but being edified by them is not going to teach you how a Greek word uttered by Paul should be interpreted correctly. God's people really do die for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6).

Because of how we are made, believe or not, we will worship something. We have to. Choose life, in Jesus Christ. We are at our happiest optimum, only when we truly are His.
My prayer is this that God raise more men to reveal what Gods will is and how mans own wll destroys himself and others , thankful to Sovereign God for giving us men who preaches the Word as God declares his Word as truth. I’ve listened to Alistair for many years and I could tell this was a difficult sermon for him. Praying that he would be encouraged and strengthened by God to continue remaining faithful to the Gospel.

That students at Westmont (Christian) College would show such disrespect to Alistair Begg by walking out of his biblical message on "one man, one woman, for life" is unbelievable. Westmont bills itself as a Christian college, yet tolerates Romans 1 behavior and asks Pastor Begg to not return after being a keynote speaker there for 12 years. They are to be held accountable to God for their actions.

How many churches have fallen to the threat of 501c3 edicts about what can and what cannot be taught about God's word. Is it right to obey man or obey God?

A bad way of treating him (or even anyone) especially as he had been teaching there for so long. He is a very good teacher/ pastor.

Pastor Alistair Begg and Pastor Voddie Baucham are one the few brave souls for preaching the truth without fear on this topic. Praise be to God and Lord Jesus Christ!

I want to give up but God won’t let me because I’m walking with Jesus. So I will continue to trust in him even though I’m struggling, I will never lose hope. Jesus is the only light in this world. As a single mother things are difficult on me. My husband passed years ago I’m alone. I’m overwhelmed at times because both of my children are autistic. I’m struggling trying to support them and myself because like so many others. I lost my job as a social worker at Forsyth hospital because I declined the vaccine. I declined because of my pre existing health condition lupus and heart disease. I was denied my medical/religious exemption. I wish I could go back to the hospital but the mandate is still in place for hospitals that participate in Medicare and Medicaid. I’m waitressing and I’m so thankful to be working again, but I’m not making nearly enough to make ends meet. I get harassed and called names for simply asking for prayers,but prayers are all we need. I have faith God will provide. WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE! Please pray for me and my children.

Sure, pray to God for compassion as if God would refuse to help a helpless child out of a lack of prayer.
A benevolent God would do the right thing.
People believe in their gods for the same reason they play the lottery. If you pray enough, it will be answered.
There is no such God.
Perhaps the prayer is to alleviate your burden, not your children's. Whatever burden they have that warrants prayer, I don't understand. Perhaps it's that everybody else is also human.
Ryan G… God is benevolent and He is also Holy, Righteous and True. He understands compassion and the impossible because Jesus Christ was born, died for our sins and resurrected to give anyone who believes in Him access to the Father, the Creator of all things. We pray because Jesus prayed and it is communication to God. It is a real thing. Search for truth. Real truth. In this world there is terrible trouble, but Jesus Christ overcame the world. Search for the truth.
Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, we prophesied in your name, drove out demons in your name, and performed many miracles in your name, didn’t we?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who practice evil!’” I can only imagine the horror that will be made reality for those "pastors" who teach that living a life that is so blatantly offensive to God, on the day of judgement.
It's not limited to pastors, but choir members, deacons, elders, youth ministers, the congregation plus anyone who believes in a 'work-based" salvation. The Righteousness of Christ is the only righteousness that the Father will accept.

I understand, I really do. But on the other hand, may the theme of the book of Esther stand true today as well, "you were born for such a time as this." God can by His grace empower our grandchildren to stand up for the truth; no prophet in the OT had an easy life. They were (I believe) all very much opposed by the general public. Times are different and yet the same. The challenge to "be a Daniel" in an unholy world. Hope these simple thoughts help bring some encouragement.

God has spoken and man like Psalm 10, acts as though man is on the throne.
I love the truth however difficult it may be. I have 2 homosexual sons who I love with all my heart. As much as I love them I cannot affirm their lifestyle. The bible doesn't allow me to do that. Neither can I reject them for the same reason. It breaks my heart but I know it breaks God's more. Thank God for Jesus.

@The Outlier Maybe gently suggest they listen to some of Sy Rogers stuff. The guy was hilarious when giving his testimony as a gay man and many times had me in stitches listening to him. Or what about Rosaria Butterfield? She's fantastic too.
It is definitely a struggle. Especially when you have watched them grow and love them very deeply. Thankfully, I have been able to stay in the lives of my loved ones who have chosen to live their lives in a same-sex union. They know that I believe it is a sin. They also know that I am here when they are ready to talk about what God wants for them and His Grace toward of those who turn to Him.
He was gracious to me on a particular sin, and He loved me to the point that I was able to repent and ask His forgiveness. 💕🙏🧸

God gave Allister a spirit of boldness because he preached this sermon like no other I have heard him preach. It was with total assurance, clarity and fluidity. No wavering. It was BOLDNESS! He dropped the 🎤 mic on this one. I need to listen again it was so good.
God in the past dealing with his people (Christians and Jewish) uses our enemies when we do not stand firm. I appreciate strong teaching from the word of God
There are none so blind as those who think they see. If the Father didn't give all people to the Son to save, He didn't give Him any. He did not come or was not sent to call the righteous to repentance...there weren't any! And if He didn't save all ,every last stray sheep, He failed to do the Sovereign Will of GOD Which is that NONE SHALL PERISH. Christ hath abolished death, hell and grave. Only with the Godhead are All Things possible.

Always remember the message not the messenger. However, Aliatair is a great deliverer of Truth. The Lords Word is amazing. What a deep Truth that can be hard for those who are in opposition. Lord quicken and soften the hearts of the unregenerate. And even believers who oppose this doctrine.
Peer pressure is insane...it's out of control...go along to get along..or pay the price...God help us!

The man on the middle cross solves all issues with " Father forgive them for they know not what they do." That is a universal, blanket ,eternal pardon. That prayer reconciles the world to GOD. Salvation is of God! Those that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. His Mercy endureth forever! And since He is not willing that any should perish...None Will! Nothing can ever undermine Genesis 1:31-2:3. That is Alpha and Omega, ALL and In All.🙏☀️🙏. All flesh is grass and the flower thereof, the temporal illusion that profiteth nothing. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the Word of Our GOD shall stand forever. Amen.

I live in America & I'm so glad that I found this man's channel on CZcams. I like to hear the Scottish speak about the Gospel. The song that he read the word's to was one of my favorites from the band called Super Tramp. I never thought about the lyrics. Now I know what they represent.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Thank you for the biblical exposition.
Thank you for taking a stand….speaking the truth in Love. The day has arrived where teaching biblical truth from the scriptures is now called hate speech. Trusting the LORD will give wisdom to our pastors in how to navigate. I’m encouraged when I see men of God gather together every year for conferences to teach and encourage. When a nation throws out the knowledge of God…..it’s a downward spiral. Man continues to attack and undermine the scriptures. What use to be orthodox colleges and universities are now denying what is in the scriptures. They seem to be answering the original question “Did God really say?” With a resounding “we think not?” I’ll have to bite my tongue at this point.
Thank you for instructing us on how to respond when someone close to us is embracing these beliefs. I have been unsure of how to balance compassion while also standing firm.

When my family and I lived in Jackson Twp. Ohio, for three years, we worshiped at Parkside Church, Alistair's home church; what a fantastic experience to hear this man exposit Scripture. One week we were pleasantly surprised by an unscheduled visit, another Scotsman, and a brilliant Theologian, Dr. Sinclair Ferguson! Anyway, my comment on this early part of the sermon was when Alistair talked about "men" and "women." I always will recall my early days of being born-again and how one of my teachers made the statement that the great Apostle Paul knowingly used the Greek words for men and women (male & female) because he didn't have enough respect for these people to call them men and women, but instead called them male and female! That comment has stayed with me for years now. Think about it...
