Bionicle reference in Sarah Connor Chronicles (Part 1)

- Scenes from the episode of the TV Series Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles where Bionicle is shown and referenced. The sets featured are from 2008. Even some actual Bionicle story is referenced, if only fleetingly. Mostly the reference focuses on the ball and socket join structure of the sets.
These references are from season 2, episode 14 of the series. The episode is titled "The Good Wound" and it aired in 2009.

For real. I get that they made a lighthearted joke in the movie, but BIONICLE hasn’t been lighthearted since 2002, and neither is the fandom

I was lucky if I could get my friends to give enough of a shit to call them "Toa." Usually it was just "The red one."

I'm actually surprised they gave such a respectful reference to them. I remember a few episodes of Friends had Ross's son Ben playing with Gali Mata, and in Malcolm in the Middle, Dewy was seen in one episode playing with Tahu and Gali Mata. You don't see too many of the other ones though.

It gives me this strange sense of joy that an obscure TV show is referencing Bionicle in the most intricate way possible
This gives off a mixed mood. On the one hand, it’s weird to see a grown man talking about Bionicle (in 2008). On the other hand, it gives off the fuzzy feeling of joy and nostalgia of playing with Bionicles.

maybe it is because the fans of the toyline were not old enough to be hollywood writers yet but i bet they could have used Bionicle's actual lore as a metaphor for the events in the show. like how the back freighter was a metaphore for the watchmenn's storyline.
especially if they got into the deep lore like how these robotic people were built by creators to serve a purpos but they soemhow naturally evolved sentience and did their own thing:) and hell use the makuta as a pararlel or soemthing to skynet,where he was meant to serve they big good mata nui but decided to take over like a malignant tumor:D

Man, eerie stuff. That's the Terminator franchise for ya though. Fox in general, really.
The only objections I can think to raise about their treatment of the lore is that really weird pronunciation of Nynrah, that and why he'd move Tahu and Solek as if they were capable of independent flight- that is, for Tahu without the focus of those Adaptive Armor engines, or in Solek's case, at all.
Also... I may be seeing it wrong given the strange lighting, but does Gali Mistika appear to anyone else to be better balanced in terms of silver-to-metru-blue?
Given how this is sort of product placement, it could very well be that that is a different version of the set. The show came out in 08 but was filmed before that. They probably had people from lego help with the lore and stuff.

It makes me very happy to see such a respectful reference to Bionicle. They were the best action figures, and my hope is that they won't be forgotten, even if Lego discontinues constraction all-together.

"You're not human" as casually as "You're a vegan." That is the beauty of this series, the way it unfolds a significant plot twist with all the subtlty of a suppressed pistol applied to the base of the skull.
