This is all speculation on my part-
MH is sold and marketed as the "strange" and "different" dolls... a 6-armed doll fits perfectly (that and, at the time, MH was INCREDIBLY successful and flying off the shelves- including prior "risky" doll releases that were TRU exclusive). Winx (because of Nick) was marketed as fashion and fairies that are colorful and happy- thus those Trix dolls, despite being intended to be villains, would have been contrary to the branding at the time. Though Toys R Us SPECFICIALLY were the ones that denied them- not Rainbow or Nick.
@@xCanadensis Yeah I started thinking about how winx is marketed as "magical" and "girly" so it makes sense that TRU ultimately decided to deny them sadly.(I've also never doubted these claims, I should've worded that differently sorry!)

Awesome stuff,if you ever talk to em again tell them they did a stunning job on the harmonix and bloomix lines. They really turned out super gorgeous.
I was told that one of the favorite shoe designs Jakks did among the team were the Harmonix shoes :)

jakks pacifics dolls are always so nice like their incredibles dolls may have had weird proportions but they were really well molded and had such nice high quality features and it’s the same with the with the winx dolls
The proportions were apparently chosen due to "extensive trials" to see what was most popular with audiences. I honestly really like them and think they match the art well haha
Before anyone insults the Nickelodean writers and artists again, remember the people who chose to change the show’s time-slot were NOT the same people from Nick who produced Winx! 😭 Totally different teams! And Iginio Straffi really likes working with Nick’s writers, they made a new show called Club57 together, and I like it 😊
Nobody mentioned the writers or artists from Nick... just the time slot decision
Now I cannot imagine how much Mattel has spent on MH doll production 😌
They don't need full hand painted/hand-done prototypes for every doll though they would be custom ordering samples for each! Though a few thousand dollars is very little when you consider they make hundreds of thousands of dolls to sell at $20 each at market :)
I wasn’t a part of Winxs fandom but I do remember seeing them, on Toys R us shelves and I really liked how they looked. Aishas dolls always caught my attention the most. I will say, that after watching the new live action Winx show, on Netflix, I am curious, to check out the animated series. Thanks for sharing all the information with us.I wonder if new Winx dolls, will be released in the US. Especially since Nickelodeon is part of the new Paramount+ streaming service.
As I already commented under your last Winx vid, I love the Harmonix Musa and Tecna by Jakks.
I was furious when I found out like 4 years ago that these 2 were never realized and Jakks is not even my fave brand. Wish they were at least released as like rare exclusives or so...

The thing about Toy Fair seems really accurate, the SnapStar dolls were supposed to release more dolls last year and ended up and the discount area at Walmart and then being canceled. They had a lot of dolls at toy fair but they were likely just prototypes?
Question: do you ever wish that sode characters got dolls? For example: Diaspro, Galatae, Krystal etc

@@xCanadensis I just dug up and the dolls we had were mainly Mattel's I had a color magic wings Bloom (which is super hard to find images for?)

I really like Jakks Dolls (especially that believix power line). Jakks made dolls that are really easy to identify which is a good thing! I think Witty should have not changed, I do not know what it is but the Jakks dolls look somewhat better than the Witty dolls, maybe because of actual different make up and all but Jakks definitely did a better job with their original faces.

I was never into Winx Club, but when I got back into serious collecting I would end up having some brief passing knowledge about them, heck I didn't know they even had dolls! Nonetheless, I found this incredibly interesting and like behind the scenes information on doll stuff, tbh I think it needs to be more of a thing since doll collecting has a huge community.

I always thought they just copied them or something but it was done with permission and love! I think the reason they don't look as nice as Jakks is because Witty only does stamp-application for their eyes?

Yeah um Inever new the dolls hair was good quality ithought it was bad because of the way it came in the box lol Iwish iknew thst or they might still have the original hair and regular face and not one ihad to draw so they don’t look like slender man or something lol
