In this video I have talked about baggage allowance in international flights for students. Students get some concession on baggage allowance in most of the flights.
Air India offers special baggage allowance to students under our Maharajah Scholars’ Scheme offer. This scheme is not applicable on US/CANADA ROUTE for sale & travel till further notice. There is a cap on the MAXIMUM Baggage Allowance for student (Free Baggage Allowance + Additional Baggage Allowance) as follows: Economy class: 40 Kg ONLY, Business class: 50 Kg ONLY, First class: 60 Kg ONLY
Similarly, with Singapore airlines with student privileges, travel smart and enjoy exclusive perks on your academic journey. Bring along everything you will miss from home with up to 50kg of checked baggage. Enjoy the flexibility of changing travel plans once without additional fees. Complimentary for KrisFlyer members with verified student status.

@@chandermohankumar3699 Sorry for late reply as I saw your message today. Although only two bags are allowed in the flight which could be around 7-8 kg each but I am not sure how heavy is your hand baggage.. If it's around 1 kg or very small then you can take it.
@@sandeepparmar2115 2 bags..One bag could be max 23 kg (for some locations it's 32 kg but when you are carrying 2 separate bags, keep them 20 kg each approx)

You can carry 2. Once you become Kris Flyer member it will ask you to verify.
Hello ,very good information, we just booked for our daughter on Singapore airlines on student id card , 40 kg is allowed , it means she can carry 2 bags for checkin . ??
Yes she can carry 2 checked in baggages of total 40kg. 7 kg cabin and a hand baggage which could be upto 5 kg. In most cases no body measure cabin and hand baggage so it could be little bit more…but try to keep it within limits

You can check their website how much you can carry in one bag but 20kg each you can carry for sure. If you want to keep more than 20 in one, then please check their website.

In that case talk to airlines about it explicitly. If they have not allowed luggage or it’s very less, it can cost you too much if you carry more than allowed limit. It’s better to confirm before packing

Hi, I had got my student visa and going to travel to Brisbane in December month. I tried to verify at Singapore airlines sites as student but they mailed to resend the document. I had uploaded my coe at the website but wasn't able to verify myself. What should I upload now my visa or any other thing to get verified. Please tell I want to book my tickets now
You need to register as a Kris Flyer member and then it will ask you to verify yourself where you will be redirected to your university website. Once done, it will take few days to verify and then you can get student benefits.
@@beinguniyal I had done that. When they redirect to University website it goes to Microsoft login page. The student id will be issued when I will reach there in Australia. Are not there any other method to verify it.

Which flight you are trying to book? If Singapore airlines, go to their official website and first register yourself as student, then u will get 40kg

Have u registered yourself as student? Because it provides 40 kg for students not for others. Ultimately you should check your ticket for the baggage allowance

Yes u can carry. In scoot the baggage limit is little bit different so first check the limits and keep it within that.

Hello Japleen, not sure about Thai airways but you should see the luggage that you get while booking tickets. Singapore airlines and Air India provide extra luggage.

Hi Jaimy, If I understood your query correctly, do you mean to say that you are already a KrisFlyer member but not able to access the benefits?
Just try searching for a flight from India to Brisbane or any place you are flying and check the details for baggage limit. In my case when I try booking Brisbane to Delhi flight, it shows a baggage limit of 40kg.
@All About Australia Registered today in KF. The verification page wasn't accessible via phone, but could update the details through the system. Tried checking as above and got 30kg of baggage, maybe it requires time. Shall re-visit tomorrow.

@@jaimymaria My layover was also in Singapore but the credit card on which I had lounge facilities in Delhi airport was not acceptable in Singapore so please verify or may be get some kind of membership if that is worth it.

Thanks for the information. So 40 kgs baggage means 1 bag of weight 40 kgs or 2 bags are also allowed (like of 20 kgs each) . Normally airline mentions that how many no. of bags are allowed but singapore airlines didnt mention on my ticket.
Singapore Airlines also mentions it that you can have maximum 2 bags and once should not be more than 23kg

@@pubgwala419 I came 4 months back with 40 KG checked in baggage. I booked flight from official website. You used cleartrip so that could be a possible reason. The link that I shared in another comment shows that if you become krish flyer member (which is free) you can take 40 KG checked in baggage. When are you flying?
