I love that all the hip hop artists were loving it too. Wish people would realise that a lot of the hip hop legends, even the ones of today, came up on a lot of rock music too. They got appreciation for the art, it'd be dope if more of the fans shared that appreciation. I started on rock music and eventually found my way to rap, but I think they are two music genres that just go hand in hand.
I didn't realize how deeply interconnected rock and rap are until I visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. There you learn that rock music has black cultural roots and how all music is essentially derivative of the generations that came before it. The Hall of Fame pays homage not just to great rock and roll artists (including the black artists who created rock as we know it) but also legends of rap. It was a really eye-opening experience for someone who grew up thinking about rock music as a white people thing. Music is kind of this collaborative process that spans across cultures and decades, it's pretty cool.

The bus accident put a damper on the grind touring for this album. They're still out there though, their last release of Everything That She Wants was fantastic
They were part of a transitional period between nu-metal dominating the scene and the internet/emo taking over. They're kind of nu-metal but also emo-influenced so once it went full emo/warped tour they kind of faded because they just weren't contemporary enough. That's my take on it, as someone who was 17 when their first album dropped. Once My Chem, Taking Back Sunday, ect got big on Fuse they were kind of scene as a remnant of nu-metal.
The music industry didn't realize it at the time, but it needed this band more than they knew. These guys are legends.

So glad I got to grow up with bands like this such underrated Legends and there shows were the best they could every be during this time they were so big and over the top best times of my life were at shows like AAF linkin park simple plan Green Day blink 182 sun 41 and LIT and I’m glad I got to experience these bands in there prime
This video is awesome because everyone is feeling it...there isn't a big divide between rap and rock like a lot of people like to think, and aaf isn't making fun of them I think there's a lot of hip hop influence in their music and they just wanted to do something cool and fun
2024 - they just released a new song “so cold” with a new album coming in April. Support these guys! Go listen to the new song!
i did, and it's really good
The eyebrow thing at 1:34 still kills me in 2021.
The bass player is so zany. He looks like he’d be a fun guy to hang out with
Can we just acknowledge for a second that these guys crashed the Black Entertainment awards
Yesss!
classic video
Fuck yes
yep and everyone loved it and laughed about it. what's your point?
LOl imagine if they had done that in 2016
I'm black I would've love to hear them perform at the BET AWARDS
Me too
This is what Rock is about, where are our bands like this today?
They are woke bootlicks to “global progressivism” rage on behalf of the machine. The center and right are the new counter culture. Not including the old neocons rinos who vote with the left now.
Music brings peace and unity

@@alhamdleallah what are you on about?
i love how pharell was headbanging to it
kurac he was probablly one of the few that was head banging not ironically
This song randomly popped into my head this afternoon (caught myself singing it thinking; what am I singing?!?!) so here I am now listening to it.
Are these guys for real???? Oh man, I've laughed so hard! Watching this as a black person in 2021 in this racially super charged atmosphere was such a breath of fresh air! Jeez, I'm still smiling, lol. This must've been hella fun to do.
It really hits home just how much things have changed. If this was attempted in this day and age, there would be triggering from all corners.
People never once thought about race when this went on. Nowadays that’s all we think about. It’s sad how divided we’ve become.
@@WeirdorNotPodcast there is racism but it is such a minor problem that it should not even matter. media blows it up to distract us from what is really happening and sadly people still fall for it
I think we lost something along the way. We need to find that unity again, but we have to find it with each other.
@@mokomothman5713 it's called get rid of liberals that's the only way
@@WeirdorNotPodcast you can thank Obama for that. He started the race storm with his racist rhetoric.
this is the coolest thing still these days! imagine doing this nowadays you will be cut right off forever

They shocked Lil Kim, 50 cent aaaaannnddd Nelly. lol. That was dope.
*head bang* aaanndd _Nelly_
Eliezer Rolon and snoop dog
and killer Mike too
I remember this award show! Everyone knew them because of their smooth criminal cover and they were rocking out with them. The cops were PISSED but Everyone else enjoyed it. I hope someone does this again
No band nowadays has the balls to pull something like this off anymore.
Well I mean can you blame anyone for that lol they would probably get canceled in todays pussified oversensitive society
@@blindsidexv6244 true that.
@@blindsidexv6244 still doesn’t take away the fact that too many people are afraid to stand up to the system that is against them, and brings us back to the OG comment that men have no balls anymore and think exactly like you, living in fear.
@@GloryFit lol yeah ok tough guy.
I think the Foo Fighters have something to say....
Just seen them in concert last night....still kicking ass!!!!
About to go see them in Vegas
Its so cool that everybody was enjoying it.. Its a shame that they were "escorted" from the premises by the police for playing good music that no one else had a problem with...
They sang the song over and over again to get the footage they wanted. That's why eventually shut em down.
Beltran15x dude, really? you believe that? they shot scenes from rooftops before or after that show was on. police at the end was only a part of thic music video, same as this guy 'from TV'... afterall they took some shots on famous people that we're heading to this MTV or whatever show.
riesabass atleast you not being naive about it...idk if u right but most likely.
riesabass Im bout to google dis
riesabass
Played the song 2+ times, cops where not 'in on it'. Band was later released with no charges.
they just dont make music like this anymore.. FUCKING LEGENDS
Was 7 years old when listen this masterpiece...
Now am 20
Thumbs up if you think Alien Ant Farm has the best music videos of all time!
When I had panic disorder this music was a point of my life. Those days were hard. This music is so great
I like to think i get 'these days' sounds of songs. I heard a bloke voicing how we don't need stuff like this, it's depressing. I'm certified depressed sure but the ignorance i thought of this guy whom thinks 'moaning' music brings people down and we should be thankful we ain't homeless, starving, etc, oh and it will make you depressed listening to this stuff. Rant almost over, i think this guy comes across easily insensitive, probably dealing with some kind of denial and really should look at things relatively and don't think you can work everyone out as one solution fits all. Sorry, this probably should be on Facestuff or something and i wish you well.
Such an amazing band. They still don't get enough credit for what they brought to the industry.
One of my sons and my favorite videos. We loved the reaction.
Bruh I'm a huge hip hop head but this is amazing. I loved seeing all those rappers haha Nelly pharell bubba sparx even dame dash and bone crusher! I wonder how they all reacted. This song fricken bumps tho on life.
Black folks appreciate EVERYTHING!!! This was an amazing reception.
The -entire- crowd was moving to it and enjoying it, and yet again, cops coming in to shut it down. "Hey, those aren't rappers! They arent allowed to be here!". Still, was cool to see some of my favorite artists enjoying one of my favorite bands!
+Ryan Shirley they got through 3 or 4 playthroughs of the song before they got shut down :)
So happy these guys are making music again now!
My favorite thing about this is they all started vibing to aaf🤗😎
Love all the artists attending the award show just vibing with the music 👌🏻👌🏻
this still holds up as one of the all time greatest music videos
I remember hearing about this year's ago but this is 1st time actually seeing what was being talked about..After watching, this video is in the top 5 of live performances of all time and idgaf who disagree because this was 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
these dudes made good music.... wish they kept the grind !
The bus accident put a damper on the grind touring for this album. They're still out there though, their last release of Everything That She Wants was fantastic
they actually just released a new song a few weeks ago called "So Cold" and it's actually pretty good, i'd check it out
So sick. Legendary stuff
Underrated band. This song is a jam
I Don't really like this genre of music but I could listen to this band all day long... one of the best vocalist ever...
Just seen this for the first time. Awesome!!
Alien Ant Farm Bring Us On Tour!!!!
I love how at the beginning everybody is like what the fuck, and then halfway through they are all loving it. Good music is good music.
can not wait to see these guys October 1st. rock in the early 2000's kicked ass. Make America Rock Again tour was a great idea.
Literally saw them last night here in Norfolk. AWESOME LIVE MUSIC! You're going to have a blast.
thanx man do you remember the order the bands played?
i used to live in Chesapeake saw alot of bands at the Norva.
I do remember. 12 Stones, Tantric, Crazy Town, Alien Ant Farm, Saving Abel, Saliva, and Trapt. Norva was a great venue.
Billy Bob same order in Columbus,Ga September 25
When the world' needs them more then ever now..
Still the most rock thing ever to be done especially at the BET awards
12 years and still amazing. This song must be timeless.
Pretty sure this is the best video I've ever seen lmfao
Back when people could get along
Madden 2004 brought me here.
The song keeps me here.
Pharrell's reaction at 1:20
Lol he still looks the same today! And Nelly as well. Though he got rid of the plaster.
I know he look's like he realizes it's actually good haha
love his reaction, he know's its good music. he's awesome!
What year did he start NERD, I feel like he got part way inspired by this
Astro Blip The first album was released in 2001, so he already knew good music when this happened.
Everyone was having a great time. Fun music brings people together :)
Agreed. Definitely need more of that these days.
Ugh I miss the early 2000’s damn...
one of my favorite songs
Man 2020 makes this video so much more rock and roll
Best music at the whole event.
THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST ICONIC MOMENTS IN MUSIC HISTORY. I relish and laugh almost to the point of tears every time I watch this (way too often). 🌹🏆
how these guys were not massive I will never know. Even live they have insane energy
This song was so good it made it on to the ST for Madden 2004
the games soundtrack was legendary
