I'm an aerospace engineer specializing in rocketry who minored in meteorology and also chases, and I find this insanely interesting and impressive. Really good data collection and analysis, especially well visualized. This is a rather simple design (that's a compliment coming from an engineer) and was very well executed, obviously requiring great skill from the user (reed in this case). The dominator series of vehicles, especially their equipment, have produced the best advancement of in-the-field measurements since DOWs and I'm sure as the suite of equipment can gather higher resolution data, tornados can become even more well understood. Awesome video and paper!

On a side note, I am a computer Hardware engineer, and I have to applaud your choices surrounding onboard technology and implementation. Cheap(ish) to make, but, more importantly for research, easy to prototype on off the shelf development boards, build a small quantity of, and then launch. This design minimizes your need for respins, minimizes the risks associated with assembly, and looks to be based in proven designs and technology. Overall a great project and a well implemented solution.

This was 2 miles from my house. we got lucky enough that it didn't hit us. I did have a friend who lost her house and her dogs in Linwood by this same tornado. I spoke with you reed earlier that day north of Kansas city at a gas station. Thank you for the videos and all the hard work you put in. This is amazing to know that this happened so close to home!
