    Tajudeen Abbas should immediately resign his position as Speaker of Nigeria's Federal House of Representatives for introducing such a draconian bill in the first instance. He has shown an unbelievable level of irresponsibility. This man should not occupy any public office in Nigeria again. Paying this irresponsible man salaries and allowances with our common resources is a complete waste.

    Nigerians want a bill to ban corrupt politicians from public office, a bill to reduce salaries, overheads of political office holders. Any attempt to take away our basic rights of freedom, of association and speech, of expression will resisted. Politicians are servants of the people, must do what benefits the people not oppress or shut up the people.

    Oga, simply admit that there was no public hearing for the National Anthem bill!

  • @olaoniboji
    @olaoniboji Před 25 dny

    I think the problem we have is most Lawmakers want their name attached to a bill, so we keep having new bills which are repetition of the existing ones and thereby invalidating themselves

    When a child tells his mother that he doesn't want the breakfast prepared, his mother will accept that. Hence reason for subversion. The same child is saying No to subsidy breakfast but mother isn't accepting that 😒.

    He is asking if they do use tech in their legislative work. A legislature peopled by low quality individuals.
    Can Nigerians begin processes to recall these empty brains in the legislature? Most of them were never voted for by the people in the first place. So, they are not expected to represent the interests of the people.
    Let's get the signatures and begin the process to recall them in our respective constituencies.

    Do they even need to travel before their overisght functions can be done? Something as simple as Zoom can be leveraged on to perform their functions. Have they heard of remote work? There are work collaboration tools they can use. Set up a digital conference room in the National Assembly and get on with whoever you want to engage with anywhere in the world. Am sure they haven't. We just need some creativity in governance in Nigeria.
