I remember when this song was released I was in 5th grade in the cafeteria, and made a mention to my friend about how Blink 182 just broke up... Yes I even kept up with that shit when i was 10 years old I just can't believe how 10 years in future (now 20) is COMPLETELY different. This song is a huge flashback and I just got hit with nostalgia on how fast everything in life had just flew by, as if I grew up and became a completely different person than I once was If I had to do it all over again, I probably would, but I would definitely change some of the things I did. He does, and I think more people need to understand the guy is more than just a part of Blink182; he's his own person. If he wants to do crazy CIA stuff and make various media projects with AVA, then people should be happy he's finally happy doing things he actually likes. Honestly, Blink is just stagnant at this point and I now see what he was talking about. The moment he tried to progress the band into new territory with Neighborhoods and Dogs Eating Dogs, he got endless shit for it. Dude was also almost always drunk at the reunion-era shows. Why remain in such a negative and toxic situation with band members that never fully forgave him and are no longer all that close, when he can create new, inspiring music on a smaller scale with AVA and fans can still see him at their shows. Most people don't stick with their high school band their entire lives either. At any rate, I highly recommend checking out the Tom Delonge Pursuit of Tone documentary. It gives a lot of insight into where Tom is now and how much leaving Blink actually helped him grow as a musician and as a person.

He was there for Love when Tom started using his stupid voice but obviously didn't do anything about it. I have a story about this song if ya'll fellow AVA fans wouldnt mind reading, I first heard this song back in September at a small get together, didnt think much of it. I didnt even know AVA existed, that night something went off in me and I fell into a deep dark depression and cried myself to sleep. I was just thinking about everything gone wrong in my life at only 16 years old, I felt alone, scared and to mention I was a Varsity cross country runner last year and my season this year was over before it started due to complications with my hip that resulted in me needing surgery. The next day I took a walk and I was planning to end my life, I fumbled with a belt in my hands before something told me to put this song on. And I did and cried and cried, later that day I had to get out of the house so I went to a h.s football game with some friends we stopped at taco bell on the way home but once again smg went off so I went to the parking lot and listened to this song and cried. I cant really explain the emotional connection I have with this song but it has helped me through so much and is helping me put the past behind me. I love Angels & Airwaves so much, they are the only band I have ever felt this connection with.

Not sure how many people will ever see this comment of mine, but I just love reading through comments on AVA's videos/songs because they're all so... relatable? So I felt like sharing some bits of my own unfinished story, too. I first discovered AVA in 2009, I think, when I was 10, thanks to my brother who basically introduced me to all the good music I love deeply now, and this song, the first two albums, but this song especially along with Start The Machine, has always been one of my favorite ones. Much to my pain, we don't choose when and where to be born, so I come from a trying place, and all the things that I had to experience throughout my short life have already been enough to push me to the edge many times - starting from my first day when I was born with a certain heart issue that required surgery and from which many kids die in their first years. Life hasn't been kind to me, but I'm trying to look for positive things and spread love and comfort through writing since that's my most cherished hobby, and now especially... everything feels hopeless & meaningless, but every time things are like this, I listen to this album, this song, to remind myself that pain can bloom into something beautiful later in life, just like in this particular song, that pain at least reminds you that you're alive. Last week I got my first tattoo, and it just had to be this song, I needed to have this reminder forever inked into my skin, "your vicious pain, your warning sign, you will be fine", these words have guided me through the darkest places more than once, and I can't ever explain what AVA songs mean to me. If you're going through a hard time too, I hope that you can find some light and comfort in this song and all the other songs written by Tom, and that you all carry on the mission to spread love when the world needs it most.

He does, and I think more people need to understand the guy is more than just a part of Blink182; he's his own person. If he wants to do crazy CIA stuff and make various media projects with AVA, then people should be happy he's finally happy doing things he actually likes. Honestly, Blink is just stagnant at this point and I now see what he was talking about. The moment he tried to progress the band into new territory with Neighborhoods and Dogs Eating Dogs, he got endless shit for it. Dude was also almost always drunk at the reunion-era shows. Why remain in such a negative and toxic situation with band members that never fully forgave him and are no longer all that close, when he can create new, inspiring music on a smaller scale with AVA and fans can still see him at their shows. Most people don't stick with their high school band their entire lives either.
At any rate, I highly recommend checking out the Tom Delonge Pursuit of Tone documentary. It gives a lot of insight into where Tom is now and how much leaving Blink actually helped him grow as a musician and as a person.
Anything Tom wrote, became gold.

I have a story about this song if ya'll fellow AVA fans wouldnt mind reading,
I first heard this song back in September at a small get together, didnt think much of it. I didnt even know AVA existed, that night something went off in me and I fell into a deep dark depression and cried myself to sleep. I was just thinking about everything gone wrong in my life at only 16 years old, I felt alone, scared and to mention I was a Varsity cross country runner last year and my season this year was over before it started due to complications with my hip that resulted in me needing surgery. The next day I took a walk and I was planning to end my life, I fumbled with a belt in my hands before something told me to put this song on. And I did and cried and cried, later that day I had to get out of the house so I went to a h.s football game with some friends we stopped at taco bell on the way home but once again smg went off so I went to the parking lot and listened to this song and cried. I cant really explain the emotional connection I have with this song but it has helped me through so much and is helping me put the past behind me. I love Angels & Airwaves so much, they are the only band I have ever felt this connection with.

Not sure how many people will ever see this comment of mine, but I just love reading through comments on AVA's videos/songs because they're all so... relatable? So I felt like sharing some bits of my own unfinished story, too. I first discovered AVA in 2009, I think, when I was 10, thanks to my brother who basically introduced me to all the good music I love deeply now, and this song, the first two albums, but this song especially along with Start The Machine, has always been one of my favorite ones. Much to my pain, we don't choose when and where to be born, so I come from a trying place, and all the things that I had to experience throughout my short life have already been enough to push me to the edge many times - starting from my first day when I was born with a certain heart issue that required surgery and from which many kids die in their first years. Life hasn't been kind to me, but I'm trying to look for positive things and spread love and comfort through writing since that's my most cherished hobby, and now especially... everything feels hopeless & meaningless, but every time things are like this, I listen to this album, this song, to remind myself that pain can bloom into something beautiful later in life, just like in this particular song, that pain at least reminds you that you're alive. Last week I got my first tattoo, and it just had to be this song, I needed to have this reminder forever inked into my skin, "your vicious pain, your warning sign, you will be fine", these words have guided me through the darkest places more than once, and I can't ever explain what AVA songs mean to me. If you're going through a hard time too, I hope that you can find some light and comfort in this song and all the other songs written by Tom, and that you all carry on the mission to spread love when the world needs it most.

Oh man this song, it was a most brutal week for me that year, the same week this song aired I lost my home, lost contact with my mom, friend of mine passed away, was actually homeless for sometime, had to walk to work about 12 miles daily to and back...when I heard this song I cried in the park. AvA is prob one of the best modern alternative space rock band that has ever existed in the music industry(imho).
