@@Albert_Einstein_not No, but it has gold. Some American companies tried to mine the gold in our region using cyanide but the locals were having none of it and so they left us alone. They also tried fracking for oil but failed since we protested.
We do not feel threatened by American presence whatsoever. They respect us and we respect them. I'm glad they're in my country.
But it doesn't matter since you're probably not interested in having an answer which favors the United States or any other western country.

The ships shown here are government owned (MARAD and MSC) manned by non civil service union crews. It appears this is one of the annual exercises, primarily to prove the military’s ability to to move equipment on extremely short notice around the world. Prior to retirement I’d the honor of being the transport ships Captain on a number of similar exercises.

Yea, they are called RORO ships, there are 2 of them based in Diego Garcia... RORO is short for Roll On, Roll Off..., they look a lot like a car carrier like you would see transporting cars from Japan, except for military vehicles. Each RORO is made to hold a ready Mechanized or Armored Battalion for the Army, and be unloaded in a matter of hours. they pull up to a dock, and the personal mate up with their tracks, and just drive them off the ship, and viola, instant Mechanized or Armored Battalion, depending on how the RORO is loaded. They are usually loaded for everything the Battalion would need for 2 weeks of battle. Food, fuel, water, spare parts, spare ammo, everything the army thinks you would need for 2 weeks of fighting, except the people.

I'm with you but we've been awfully close of loosing our democracy, our freedoms and friends and allies just 7 months ago. And the danger is still present. Our adversaries weren't been able to touch us or hurt us cause of our great military so they've found another way of taking us down. By destroying us from within, by destroying our democracy and our way of life. And all that with the help from Americans themselves. We have definitely lost the level of military supremacy we've had for the last 30 years. But that's not a big deal, we can still invest into new technology and regain that edge. But if we loose our allies, like we almost did during the Orange Buffoon's term, that's it.. We're gone cause we can't fight China or Russia by ourselves.

Most people don't realize that if United States wanted to move forces in mass to support an ally, for example Taiwan, the only way it could be done is by sea. A C-5 Galaxy, one of the world largest cargo air craft can only lift one tank at a time. The United States for this purpose maintains under the National Defense Reserve Fleet, including the military-focused Ready Reserve Force (RRF) a vast array of ships in various levels of readiness to accomplish the task. SS Cape Isabel (T-AKR-5062) out of Long Beach, is just one of the "Ro-Ro" ships available. USNS Bob Hope (T-AKR-300) is the lead ship of its class of vehicle cargo ships for Army vehicle prepositioning.

Just saying: The ties from the vehicles connected to the ship; if they go straight down, they wont carry any load, and the vehicles can shift causing unbalance and that can capsize the ship.
The load should be tied down with an angle to the load, and not straight down. That is not what is meant with "to tie down".
That also happened to a transport plane of the USAF airforce. The load was connected straight down. That snapped the ties caused the load to slide crashing the plane. Look for: "Cargo Boeing 747 crashes at Bagram Airfield". That was the plane that had the load sliding.
I hope you all stay safe now!

    Jeff
