I think you'll fine the Archsybarite is armed with something like a Venom-blade, rather than the Power-sword in the base kit. You currently get one in the Wracks and Scourges kits. It's arguably a downgrade in 40k... might be better in Kill Team though, since you're largely trading a better crit, for easier crit rolls. Psuedo-Wrack has a longer backflap for his skin loincloth. It's a new piece. Gives it even more of a visual cue from the Covens. Disciple of Yaelindra is odd. Yaelindra is tied to Lhameans, who are supposed to be poison experts, but the Disciple has grenades and a Coven Stinger? Almost wonder if they labelled the wrong model. She has a new skin cloth. It's likely a complete replacement for the piece that normally goes with that set of legs, just to include the grenades. Baby Haemonculus carries experimental combat drugs or something? Skyplinter Assassin gun still looks more like a Shardcarbine to me. Combined with the pet Razorwing, the feathers on the gun, and the feathers protruding from the back of his helmet (his head is also new), it gives him an almost "psuedo-Scourge" vibe. Curious to see how a Shardcarbine would work in Kill Team. Usually in 40k they're slightly shorter range, but with more shots. Maybe it just becomes an A5 Splinter Rifle?
@@IamtheWV17 Yes, it's a bit different. This is somewhere between the regular power sword and the Venomblade. The main giveaway is the little duct thing that runs along the length (appropriately painted in green), and the lack of the "power" cell/generator thing.
Team seems cool and thematic. That the bird is called an "assassin" is particularly interesting to me. Maybe that naming indicates he's less of a support piece and more of a damage dealer. I don't so much mind that they're an upgrade sprue team because that just means more bits for the eventual kitbash. Thanks for the rundown video!
If I recall correctly you had some other minis that you recently touched up with some additional highlights. If you think the existing minis can be spruced up, the save yourself some upfront work & replicate the paint scheme on the new unit. If not then I’d strip the minis you need to fill out your roster/sideboard.
That’d probably be best then. I’m still holding out hope that they can bring in Wyches for extra operatives, but my track reckon these sorts of things is very poor.
Interesting, but I can't see them being more elite then Harliquins, I think a 8 man elite team similar to Harliquins would be super interesting though.
When they first showed the Corsairs they dindt showed us all the specialist and 3 Gunners(2 Normal 1 Heavy) instead... Maybe its the same way here ;-) ... Ore they will give the regular Troopers(Kabalite Agents as they call them in the vid) get GA2 :-P
@@BR-bn1mz Originally if you had a brutal weapon and popped Agile Gladiators you could force your opponent to 'parry' for no effect as a Brutal weapon can only be parried by crits. GW changed this in the first FAQ on the incredably flimsy justification that as you are being forced to parry not choosing to parry the parry works. Basically it made Brutal weapons pointless as they were only any good if you had an ability that could force parrys, and therefor discarded dice in CC.
The models themselves don’t do much for me. Any real interest in this team will depend on the stats and team rules/ploys. As time goes by, I’m getting less impressed with this box set. I can make use of the terrain, but I don’t NEED the basic terrain since I managed to get the first two ITD boxes. All I really want out of this box is the Arbites team, the book and the extra, new terrain sprue. So, what? $60 for the Arbites, $55 for the book and it’s unlikely that the breachable walls sprue will be available separately so, that’s say $90 to get the terrain? Sigh, I guess I’ll be trying to get the box if they make enough to actually cover demand.
Or find yourself some in with a resin printer, I'd be HIGHLY surprised if within a week or two (usually way faster...) there wouldn't be a printable busted wall etc components stl
Now it would be weird if they couldn't take two gunners + heavy gunner like regular Warriors can in 40k, but I also wouldn't be surprised if this is basically all the new specialist options available with the upgrade sprue. I'd guess the upgrade sprue is the same size as the others that we've seen. 11 new arms, most with weapons (including a bird), 6 heads (he missed the one on the Skysplinter assassin), 2 new skin cloth bits, and a new torso front is already a lot of new parts....
Would have been amazing if they had just made a brand new Hand of the Archon/Trueborn kit... Or one of the other Drukhari units that are not yet in plastic. I know some people would have liked Mandrakes or a Court of the Archon... but I just can't see a good way to make them to the same standard as other Kill Team kits. Mandrakes don't have or even need wargear options, while a Court of the Archon kit would be very limited to the different model options (i.e., you can't make a 10 model kit where each can be built as a Lhamean, Medusae, Sslyth or Ur-Ghul... it's simply not possible). This almost feels like a stopgap just to make up for the fact that there's only 1 elite choice in the Codex that GW currently sells models for. Surely, they aren't going to release upgrade sprues for anything as old as these again. What even is there? If they were to make an upgrade sprue for Genestealers, 'gaunts, or 'gants, Nid players should swarm Warhammer HQ until they make new sculpts. I don't even want to see an upgrade sprue for those tiny Grey Knights, even if they were released after the Kabalite Warriors.

So many great spots! Gonna give this a pin!
I had to check the scourges to see if that was actually just their sword 😅
It is not a scourge sculpt... but quite similar.

Glad you enjoyed the video!
My big takeaway is that, as with the other upgrade sprue teams, they'll be easy to proxy up from the bits box and the 3D printer...
For sure, if thats more fun and interesting for you you should absolutely go for it! Of course at that point, why not do a whole proxy team?
@@TabletopImpulse proxy wysiwyg is where it's at!
6:45 there are other poison effects in the Compendium. I listed them out on the Discord earlier.
Subtle plug, right? 😇
Folks should join the discord!
You’re right that the leader arm is different. I built them recently and the standard arm is more horizontal
It's a venomblade rather than a power sword.
Yep, I think a few people have missed that one.

GA2 is possible, but I wouldent think it was very likely.
2:23 Power weapon is definitely better than the Agoniser post AG with Brutal nerf. Before it was not. 😢
True enough.

Yeah, that maths is inescapable!
I hope we don't have to take two regular warriors.
Compendium you can have both gunners but only one heavy gunner if you go pure Kabs. I suspect we’ll have the same here, so maybe only one warrior.

A lot of this depends on if it is an 8 man or 10 man team.
@@TabletopImpulse Not sure why they would be 8 when Corsairs are 9...
Feels a bit… half assed of a team again, kinda just another sort of similar team to the previous :(
The models are perhaps a little lackluster, but I think they could end up doing the job!
another extremely lazy way to introduce a new bespoken team. 10+ year old models, + an upgrade sprue. I wish they would go back to the WD upgrades.
