Suspension upgrades are a step in the right direction- I wish RVs would spend the budget where it counts- I don’t want a $500 Winegard antenna and hole in the roof that requires an expensive, outdated 4G hotspot, or the cheapest possible solar panel and PWM controller with a lead battery, do it right or skip it. Shock absorbers should be standard. Cabinets should actually be aligned and close properly. The frame and axle shouldn't be at the ragged edge of their weight rating. Save the money on the cable hookup and the antenna package. Will that get me my whole wishlist? Probably not but it'd be a step in the right direction.
Thank you for your feedback!
Thank you for the thorough walkthrough and review! We appreciate your perspective. Looking forward to reading all the comments and bringing your viewers’ feedback to our product development team!
The inside/outside cabinet is great! When you wanna put some groceries in the trailer without pulling the steps down and bringing the slide out, you want this.
I was thinking for taking out the garbage from the can. Pull it outside incase it's a leaker. My old 5er was like that, had an access panel in the counter top next to the sink that was a garbage chute right into the can. Then to empty it had its own outside door. I miss that feature alot.
Thank you for your comment!
We just purchased a 2024 221 MSL. We've taken it out once for a shakedown and everything went great. Very comfortable and solid travel trailer.
Thank you for being a customer!
We had those windows on our TAB 400. What we liked about them was you could have them open when it was raining.
They’re great for ventilation!
Great for a young couple with no children for weekend trips. Very well made!
Thank you! This is our most popular “couples” style coach in this series. Very popular for solo travelers too.
Can those baggage doors unclip and drop alway the way down? Extended out like that can limit how far you can reach inside if not.
Yes they can!
Love this RV! Love the beast mode suspension. Love metal front storage box. That has a huge interior It’s size. Love the sky gazer skylight in the roof. that’s cool. Love this one thanks JD.
Thank you for your comments!
"warning use common sense" hahahaha. that sticker on the camper is awesome!
Not too common! But we’re hoping!
These units have potential. They have some good build ideas (composite roof, siding and floor) and some of the equipment like Victron and Truma ...really nice However, I thought the cabinetry and counter tops were cheaply made. The fit and finish was a bit off in my opinion. And the thing that made me say... NOPE...cable driven slides...for me that's a non-started. Yes, I walked thru several of these units at my local dealership...again, I think they have potential but I would not buy one based on what I saw.
I really like the cabinets in this model. I like a solid front cabinet. That’s easy to wipe.
No screens for the windows??
We just purchased a 201FBQ. Each window has a privacy shade and bug screen. The privacy shade pulls up from the bottom, and the bug screen pulls down from the top. They are both adjustable to any position and are on the same “track” so you can have as much privacy or bug screen combination as you want. It’s one of the reasons we bought the ember
All windows have integrated screens and shades!
I do like the "little" extras (folding shelves, pass throughs, shower miser, the trick tongue jack, etc.) they all add a nice bit of value. This should easily half-ton towable as well. But, for that price, I'm gonna want an oven, and/or convection microwave, and a porcelain/stainless steel sink in the bathroom. Other than that, it's a nice couples/singles unit.
I agree I have always been a fan of Ember but that sink cabinet configuration seems like it would be a head banger too.
For $50.000 I believe all RVs should have soft closing cabinets and drawers. Also porcelain toilets and sinks. Just my opinion.
Yeah, because nothing catches your toothpaste spit better than a porcelain sink. Plastic sinks, ppsshhh.
This RV has soft close drawers, hidden hinges on cabinets, and a porcelain door flush toilet!
@@EmberRecreationalVehicles that’s why I like your guys trailers. They come loaded with quality!👍
I went to pick up an Ember at the dealership. When I got there, the dealership cost Ember a sale. They never went over it prior to delivery. Trim inside was broken and rivots on the outside corner pieces were missing and some were scraped Ended up walking away from the deal
nice rig i like it. Its no pause but it would definitely work.
Buyer should install a different outside lock to the pass thru access door. Safety reasons. ❤❤
Sold, really its a unit build with mechanical function with all the important items you have spoken of as "upgrades". Appreciate taking the time for the education. Gonna share with myself to have a reminder of a well thought out unit. Thank you.
Thank you for taking a look!
Thanks JD always appreciate your rv reviews. One quick thing on a different subject, have you seen Cruz’n with the Carson’s latest video on their 5:37 new 2024 GD reflection? I believe you will find it interesting…
That cabinet that is open to the outside I would get a dog ramp and fence the outside and I have an easy dog door. Big selling idea for me.
Interesting idea!
This would a good one to remove frame and mount on a gooseneck deck over and make a crawler hauler !!!!
I'm with yah there. Not for $50k though. 😂
Hi, I really like Embers but for a couple of things. Hardly any counter space in most of them and they use cable for slides. Those cables are crap, they do not last. I really like the suspension... they could update in interiors with better colors.
I like it - could be nice for off-the-grid and off-road use.
That’s the focus! You get it!
Hi, just to let you know that all the "Formica" plastic makers have a solid surface now corean is one of the first makers of it. I've been working with "Formica" narvan, welsonart, pionite, ext...... Many more. For 20 + years
Pretty cool setup. Only thing is divider from live and bedroom. Good couple setup
nice to see these sub 30' units with real suspension for
Pretty sure the forums say all the mainstream rv manufacturers are cutting quality and increasing cost of the unit.
We’re not in the mainstream!
"Looks Good" quality and fit and finish on the interior pass......
I see the potential here. I would not want the rail in the pass through cabinet, would figure out how to remove that fast to make loading and loading even faster. On the water bay side-how do you feel about that door opening down instead of opening up?
Only thing that is a negative to me is the skylight. I just prefer a nice solid roof to avoid water damage issues in the future. Other than that, pretty nice for what it is.
Thank you for your comment!
Another perspective on the fold down door on the outside storage compartment. Say you're a woman traveling alone and you need to load something heavy and/or long into storage. You can't lift it in; you need to rest one end of it on the opening, then lift the other end and slide it in. Is that relatively flimsy looking door going to be able to handle that weight?
I’d like to see the no compromise version. One with all the cost cutting choices ignored for the right choices. Also no slide, dislike slides .
Interesting comments. We DO make floor plans without slide rooms!
Is there a microwave/convection oven? No oven under the two burner stove. Liked that it was prep’ed for solar. We love those nice nightstands on each side of your queen bed. Thanks for the review!
There is a microwave. 2024 models feature a convection air fryer.
What’s good about the acrylic windows? Isn’t there a chance for scratching them when cleaning? Will the sun eventually cause them to loose their clarity?
This style of windows are the best insulated, featuring dual-panes with integrated screens and thermal shades. They open much wider than traditional windows for much better airflow (even during the rain). These are the standard windows you’d find in RVs built in Europe or Australia.
Who are the Dallas Cowboys? Sorry, couldn’t resist.
Yep. You adjust the height of your coupler … that you just bought on Amazon for cheap and RE-installed on the trailer you’re easily stealing from the owner. But at least the thief now has dual axles and upgraded suspension.
Hah that's kind of funny. Could get this: www.ebay.com/itm/322079372391?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=c-4Bqn2MTl2&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=tB4_vuC-RQS&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
They put the toilet roll holder on the inside of the door so it's not pressing right up against you when you sit down. Nice thinking.
Impressive over all for around $50k.
If they can keep thinking clever/ingenious about improvements like those shelves that folded up & out of the way, they should be blatantly outstanding in about 10 years.
Thank you for your comment!
On the pass thru cabinet it would be better if they eliminated the center mullion and made a false on on one of the doors. This would give you the same look but much wider to load and unload the camper.
A little bit of a rocky start -lol! Got utubers all over utube who bought new ones when they came out that literally couldn't use them do to poor build quality. For 50 grand think their designers would have did some testing prior to making so many customer mad enough to post videos - watch John Marucci's videos on his issues.
I have a first gen 201 FBQ from what I hear they improved the battery & solar & inverter/ charger.. the floor discoloration has returned after being replaced… 😢 & the tongue jack switch failed… I love ember…however Bish’s Rv in cold water Michigan has been a nightmare ( home of Josh the Rv nerd)
Elaborate on why that Bish's store was a nightmare?
The first 6 months after we discovered a water leak then resulting in the floor discoloration , 😢absolutely no one answered their phone or answered emails to set up warranty work. We had to directly to Ember to get any movement @ all to start the process because Bish’s RV didn’t care after they got their $… we full time Rv & Ember is aware & said they would cover our issues but Bish’s said it would be covered… that was a fight they lost … the service department is a bunch of condescending, lazy, malicious A holes that will do that absolute minimum to get every penny they can get form the customers & manufacturing company
Schwintech slide?
Why wouldn't the axles exceed the GVWR? I get that some of the weight is carried on the tongue, but not having the axles at least meet the GVWR seems like cut-corner engineering.
Remember that axle capacity is generally very underrated in the first place to account for dynamic weight while traveling.
I really like this camper however I think it could be a tad cheaper. Not much. Mainly due to the plastic bathroom sink, counters aren’t solid surface countertops. Other than those few little things, I think it a great rv!
Ember is an example of what happens when the decision makers actually go camping. The company really does think differently in ways that work for the owners.
you might want to do some research my friends this company is horrible. It looks awesome and the idea of it is great but the reality does not live up to the hype.
@@SAMMIEJONESJUNIOR I know the decision makers at Ember well - they are good people doing a good job
Thank you for the kind words!
I'd take a hard pass on the fold down pass through doors. A table surface would be nice but for the number of times I'm just reaching deep into the storage area, I think it would mostly be in the way.
They are attached with carabiners and can be unclipped for easy access.
Need a fire place and laundry room!
I have been a total fan of the Ember trailer that being said I have yet to see a floor plan this one included that has a good kitchen. That round sink 😢happy it’s small but being that it is right next to the stove top the ergonomics of washing dishes is bad. Glass top is great but give me something that won’t break cuz I’m gonna use it as counter space. There are so many good things about this one but I like to cook inside and this kitchen is not so good.
No stove?
What is the solar package?
The base solar package is 400W of panels on the rooftop and a 2000W inverter. The Max Solar package is 800W of panels on the rooftop, a 3000W Victron inverter with Cerbo GX, a 270Ah Battle Born battery, and a REDARC DC to DC charger.
Does ember make a 5th wheel?
Not yet… 😊
I don't like the basement doors that flip down. It is going to be a real pain to get too stuff thats more than a foot or two inside the unit.
They unclip for easy access.
I don't like the baggage door tilting down...makes it much harder to reach items. 1100 pounds won't allow much boon docking as the holding tanks will reduce most of your carrying capacity. Don't like the lack of space around the kitchen sink. Spare tire needs a cover. That all being said, there are a lot of cool features.
Thank you for sharing your opinions! The baggage door unclips for easier access.
I was looking at one 2 years ago. Really liked it. Cost to much.
Does it have a microwave in it?
This model includes a microwave. 2024 models have a convection air fryer version.
Don't like the windows as they let the mosquitoes in.
Perhaps
We can work with that!
No oven, small stove
Where would one eat? No dinnette
There’s a table that attaches to the sofa.
There is no table for eating, for that price that is a dumb omission.
There’s a table that attaches to the sofa.
You lost me on this RV when you opened the cabinet behind the sofa and we all saw loose screws floating around and there’s no table to eat at.
The fold down baggage doors may be useful but also make it harder to reach items in the middle of the baggage compartment. The cable slide is a deal killer. At least with the Schwintek you can replace with a Vroom slide system which is superior to any in wall slide system. I would prefer no slide at all to what’s in that trailer. The floor plan and storage is great. The bathroom is adequate. They left plenty of room to move around the bed. In spite of all the good qualities, I wouldn’t buy this trailer.
The cable slide 👎
Cable slide? Hard pass.
Ember or Nothing.
🔥🔥🔥
Lmao- reviews on this company are horrible. Leaking at the sun roof. 2022 units still brand new never been sold on the lot. Owner hired her daddy (jayco) to try to save the company. I went inside the ones by me and you can tell a well made unit when you go inside. You can feel it in your ears. These feel like a cheap mobile home. I won’t buy anything with Lippert products. Lippert has quality control issues. Slide mechanisms for instance.
Not planning on buying an RV then.. the almost all have Lippert products in them.
@@BigTruckBigRV not the west coast ones. Northwood makes their own frames. Lances quality is failing. Not buying anything from Indiana.
@@BigTruckBigRV how about the good quality out of Canada?
Beware of Ember quality, I was set on this model until I looked at 3 of them. Worst build quality I had seen. They are over extended and quality is crap.
We’re sorry you feel this way. We are always trying to do better.
