Intense Battle Between Newborn Cheetah and Newborn Buck

- This is the moment Cheetah cubs take on baby buck!
The 37-year old tour guide, Francis Kijazi tells us about his absolute immaculate sighting. They were very fortunate to witness a female cheetah and her four 2-month old cubs take down Grant's gazelle.
"This incredible latest sighting happened during an evening game drive in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, bordering Southern Serengeti plains in Tanzania. We spotted this female cheetah with 4 small cubs - possibly two months old. We stayed with them for some time and the Mom seemed to be on the lookout for just a snack. Seeing that they had eaten properly the day prior."
"By chance, a baby Grant's gazelle happen to stroll past, obviously in search of its mother. This baby came across another baby and decided to lie down for a break."
From the footage, it is clear that both these gazelle are but a day or so old, as one can see they struggle to maneuver around, as well as the presence of their umbilical cords still well-attached to the stomachs.
When Mom decides to investigate
"Of course, the Cheetah mom noticed the whole thing and started stalking towards them. However, she found the baby gazelles so weak, enough for her cubs to play with. Thus she did not kill the gazelles just yet, instead, she called her babies to take part in a hunting lesson."
At first, the youngsters are somewhat unsure, but then one takes the lead and they all seem to rely on their instinct almost immediately. Nature really is an incredible wonder which never ceases to surprise humankind.
The gazelles do try to put up a wee bit of a fight, but ultimately Mom decided to take one for the family and of course, the cubs are ecstatic! One gazelle ultimately does manage to get away though, leaving the cheetahs somewhat confused.
Francis tells that this was his first time in 12 years to ever witness cheetah cubs of this size and age, to actually attempt hunting. Generally one would see it from an age of 5-8 months old.
Nature can be cruel, but all creatures fight to survive
"It may seem impossible and heart-breaking, but one should never interfere with what might be playing out in nature. For instance, trying to rescue the baby gazelle from what may seem brutal in the human eye. Therefore, instead, sit quietly and observe and enjoy the very rare behavior, because it also comes down to the survival of the Cheetah population in the African bush."

Yup, born to run
Btw, it's an antelope, not a deer. Have a nice day
The angel developers fixed some bugs with the bucks legs.
At the same time, your observation is explained by the very events of the video. These unfortunate creatures are born to a world where predators are permanently awaiting for them: they're prey since the moment they're born, or even before, while into their mother's womb. So, to improve their chances of survival, they're born as prepared as possible to run away from such dangers. Some times it's not enough, like in this case.

when the mother cheetah showed up, the buck was like "ohh, now that's some bullsh1t..."
The fact that baby cheetahs really cosplay as honey badgers to be feared is just so adorable
That's actually debated tbf. Its something people often say, but there's not really solid evidence for it. The coloration maybe fool aerial predators better, but it seems much less effective on ground-based predators. Not to mention that, despite the hype and cherrypicked videos surrounding honey badgers, they're actually not that great at directly dealing with larger predators. For every video of a honey badger 'beating' a lion or leopard, there's dozens more instances of them actively avoiding them, or even outright being killed.
So disguising themselves as honey badgers seems not actually be true. There is another theory its meant to keep them warm, or its meant to mimic grass. No theory has been tested and proven thus far though. But despite its popularity, the honey badger theory seems very unlikely.
@@megadracosaurusThey’re better for dealing with larger predators than you give credit. One of the biggest reasons why larger predators hate messing with honey badgers is because they have very loose skin. This not only makes it much harder for a predator to land a killing blow, but it also allows for the honey badger to turn and give a painful bite while the predator has it in its grips, even by the neck.
@@Darknimbus3 Didn’t see they’re helpless. But they’re not ‘owning’ anything either. Actual sciencetific research regarding honey badgers shows that if the badger can’t get away and the predator is determined, that badger is dead. Lions, leopards and spotted hyenas have all been known to kill them pretty frequently if the badger can’t get away. In a way, it’s similiar to wolverines. Everyone hypes up wolverines for ‘beating’ wolves and bears. But actual sciencetific research has found that wolverines are far more likely to get killed by them instead.

@@mohamedali5842 if you see it that way people are allowed to see it in the view of the buck who was defenceless, just been born and was trying to survive too?? both views are valid, idk why people go crying when people show sympathy towards the prey

The mom was like, “go catch the other one!” at the end.
🤞🏽😂😂😂
Even at that age the cub knew to approach the gazelle from behind and secure a throat hold. I presume that's instinct. Given that the mother is likely to have ensured that an adult gazelle is dead before calling in the cubs, I wonder if they have seen her make a kill up close before.
seconds after being born, sharks already know what they need to do, turtles know they need to run. animal instinct are strong and nature is amazing.
I think it is instinct because the description says cheetah cubs don't begin practicing hunting until 5-8 months old but these cubs are around 2 months. It's probably the first time they practiced hunting too because finding a baby gazelle that's only a day or 2 old has got to be rare.

It’s crazy that buck already knows that those are his enemies
It was being pushed around and hurt, so it knew. It's rare, but calves like this have been adopted randomly by different species- including big cats (briefly unless in captivity) and don't know the difference because they're not in danger.
@@carmandirda this is not true.
There is a video on CZcams, of a Buffalo calf, JUST BORN within an hour. It's mother wandered off and left the calf alone by a tree. A lion eats it...but before the Lion can even get to it, you can see the calf start to scream and cry in imminent fear. It's almost like, they are programmed to know which species of animals do NOT belong to them.
@@davidleonard7439 But it is true that in a few very rare cases predators have adopted babies of prey species for at least a few days. There are videos of lions and leopards doing this. I don't know if later they did eat them, when they couldn't nurse them.
Calf, or fawn, not a buck. But I am not sure if the word "fawn" is also used for the young of antelopes.
@@dondragmer2412 yes, I'm sorry, I should have clarified a little better. I totally agree with predators adopting the young of different animals. Them not being able to know or sense danger, I do not agree with.

The title is misleading. Yes the antelope is newborn but the Cheetah cubs must be around 5 to 6 wks or more because like other cats, they are born helpless, blind with no teeth and ears closed.
U right. Should of said Cheetah cubs. But the buck clearly advanced to their level by walking/running as a newborn with them already being weeks old so
Is that a second baby deer running around?
I've never been so confused.. 😂
Antelope; not deer. Totally different family of ungulate.
Yes. There's two of them.
It's like watching a human baby learn how to eat and walk in a matter of minutes. Incredible and in the wild, obviously, very necessary.
But these cheetahs are far more than a few minutes old. At least a month or two, maybe three. I used to take care of cheetahs in a zoo but I don't quite remember how fast they grow. Newborn cheetahs are blind and helpless, barely able to move. I don't think they can stand and open their eyes for at least a week.

The buck was actually a newborn. The cheetah cubs were not. They could already run while bambi could barely walk.
I found the video to be incredibly interesting! It was fascinating to see how the baby cheetahs had observed their mother catching prey before, while the baby gazelle, being only a few hours old, instinctively learned how to defend itself without any direct teaching from its mother. This suggests that such knowledge is likely passed down genetically.
The Buck was just born few minutes ago whereas Cubs were atleast couple of weeks old.
Still deer scared off the cubs when he just got on his legs.
The three cubs would never be able to kill the deer bug as they don't have molar teeth or nails yet.But the deer might be dead due to exhaustion if all three attack him one by one

That little cheetah will be a great hunter one day, hopefully he

I hate this cursed world.
Maybe I’m the weird one, but I think predators have it a lot worse than prey animals. Prey animals outnumber predators at least 100 to 1 and even when they’re being chased, predators are only successful maybe one out of every 6 to 10 times so their odds of being the one who is caught is very slim. Predators on the other hand have to search and chase their food every day and when they catch up to it there’s always a chance that they might be injured or killed by their food and on top of that, when they finally catch something to eat, it still could be taken by another predator. Food is always readily available for prey animals, on the other hand. I get great joy in seeing a predator make a successful kill. They gotta eat too. Sure it’s bad for the one that got caught but the species will live on.
Ain't no pleasure in being an impala: You're less intelligent and everyone wants to eat you.

People do not realize what such impeccable footage this is, those newborn cheetahs do not have natural hunting abilities, they have to be firstly shown how to hunt and then taught.. for those to have such hunting abilities at such a young age is so rare! Why do the Cheetah cubs fur look like honey badgers? 🤔
Evolution pressure, no one want mess with honey badger ~~
@@dix-neufcmsifredi2706 Wait what? How does evolution know? 🤔
@@razer0072073 Very simple resum: No one want mess with honey badger, so anything that looks like honey badger have less chance to be attacked by predator, so if one day a cheetah baby did look a little like honey badger from random evolution, it will have more chance to survive and reproduce, ect, ect untill now.

Treinamento intensivo para filhotes de Cheetas!
That's amazing to see instincts.
One cheetah cup got a good lesson: he thought he got his first kill but the gazelle was only faking death.
