    As an INTJ, my take is ESTJs seem confident to the point of conceited and assertive to the point of bossy. It strikes they may be prone toward jumping to conclusions without fully understanding the subject and considering consequences. They seem geared toward observing and casting judgment about others but are not so inclined toward assessing and checking themselves. A couple ESTJs I've known are ultra-confident in being right, but unable or unwilling to admit when they were wrong.

    Some day I would like to hear a video on how ESTJs experience their Ni trickster. Iam Ni dom but dad is ESTJ with Ni trickster. I want to know what ESTJs think of Ni.

      I can tell you! It is quite challenging. I always think of what I should before I think of what I want.

      @@wendykauffman7528 Have you been in sensory deprivation tank yet to see what your experience is? ESTJs in the tank and their experiences would be great to hear about. I think you said you had an INTJ son in another show? Does his Ni trigger you giving you clues to your Ni shadow?

      @@stu6097 Actually, what has happened to me in a nutshell is as following. I lived just about my entire life around NFPs (ENFP adopted mother & INFP husband-relationship for 27 years). I had three Ni children-INTJ, ESFP, ESTP. After I divorced, I went after my "gold pairing" ISTP and am now engaged to him. I surrounded myself with Ni people-many INFJs to be exact. The Ni people in my life are all teaching me about me-especially my ISTP fiancé. I am finding out more about what I want, not should do. That has caused me some problems, but I no longer care. It has been tremendous self-growth. I am around many that "do what they want" and now I want to be a part it. Many of my clients are Ni also and I see through them how to get better.

      As an ESTJ I would say lacking Ni manifests in a few ways, based on how others have described it (unless I'm understanding it wrong).
      1. I don't usually get a "vibe" from people, either related to what they think of me or what they're like as a person, instead I consciously think about how they act and what I know about people to help me understand them.
      2. I personally don't like deep philosophical discussions, they're interesting for a while but then they're draining.
      3. There was a video about Ni, I think by Love Who, that asked you to describe the moral or lesson in a movie. I picked the movie right away (The Ultimate Gift) but it took me a while to put the lesson into words even though it's my favorite inspirational movie. I also struggle to explain the plot of a story, and aren't able to write stories well because it's hard for me to imagine what comes next in a fictional world, people who can write a whole world inside a book amaze me.
      4. I have the hardest time doing something the first time, but after that I can learn from my mistakes and get better. I'm an event coordinator and I once planned my own event (a Charity Fair) and it was way too hard for me because while I could organize all the details, I couldn't picture what it was going to look like or if it was going to go badly, as the event hadn't been done before.

    • @wendykauffman7528
      @wendykauffman7528 Před rokem

      @@sarahberkner I will say that I do struggle with the unknown, meaning setting my own path (the example you gave over the event). I have had those struggles starting my own business. Too many ideas, too much disorganization. Now, I enjoy deep philosophical conversations, though I was married to an INFP for over twenty years so that could be why. Thank you for all your thoughts! It is the only way we all learn.

    Thanks Joyce! I enjoyed this interview. I'm an IP, an ESTJ is one of my closest friends. I married into her family, so we have known each other for 20 yrs, since our early 20's. Our friendship growth has met with a lot of confusion and a little frustration. So learning about type and cognitive functions has helped us a lot. How Amy presents and what she says is so similar to my friend. She is starting to get to know herself and evaluate her own feelings/emotions. My ESTJ friend has also come to understand that she is 'not seeing the whole picture' & tries not to evaluate how productive a person may be or label a person... though I suspect she still categorizes in her head the utility & skills of those in her life for future reference say this out of love, because she is always having PROJECTS, and listing out loud who she needs to contact because of this skill or this or that knowledge. My friend has always advocated for others(maybe NE), when I was about to door-slam. It seems that as she matured, she understands that people process differently than her, that Some sit and process their thoughts, and feelings, and so that time for them may not be being idle.

    I'm not good at speaking, a lot of ESTJs are I think but a few online have also said they're bad at talking. But I'm at the first year of my job as event coordinator and have taught my boss a few things so I guess that counts for something lol
