im 16 years old and ive always colored my hair at home, by myself, my mom just helps if i need to lighten it (shes a cosmetologist and im a cosmetology student) and i love doing it my self, i find it fun

If you dont want to bleach your hair(roots) often use a veggie dye pure near the roots and dilute it through middle and ends :)
It works very well with purple and blue if the roots are very dark
When toning ure hair using 10 developer actually deposits MORE color (toner color) then using 20 would. It can be confusing since the lighter u want to go the higher the volume. But when adding color its the opposite the lower the developer the more color it deposits. Bleaching does all the lifting, when ure toning ure just adding color to cancel out ure orange and yellow tones.
lol i bleach my hair all the time and my friends always tell me not to because it damages my hair, but its my hair. And lol i also dont care if i damage my hair , it grows back .☺😀
I think I'm going to try that. Mix blue shampoo with conditioner and leave on. Probably just on the roots. The rest of my hair is cooler and this will make it even out more I hope ♥️
It looks so awesome, this is exactly what i want. I just watched a guy on utube that said he uses 100%pure coconut oil in hair and puts it in the night before bleaching and leaves it for first bleach his hair looked awesome too. He says that helps keep from damage. I am just learning about doing this myself you video really helped.
@Cami Banghard I honestly don't know what else you could do! I like macadamia oil hair treatments as well as coconut oil. Maybe you can try that.

The last time I went dark to light I started with the new growth that had been dyed dark and my roots. Then I did the length of my hair (previously bleached.) Yes the heat from your scalp will make the bleach develop faster, but, if your ends have been previously lightened, the color will lift more quickly from the ends. From the looks of your hair after the first bleach application your roots needed more time to develop than your length. If you did not have hair that had been previously lightened then I would follow the roots last advice.

Mixing a 20 with a 10 volume makes the toner stronger. The lower the number on the developer the stronger the deposit, so a straight 20 volume would actually be less stronger. That being said your hair look amazing. Love the color it suits you.

I'm not sure if you mentioned this but how long did you wait before bleaching your hair the second time? You said you bleached the darker orange spots again and I wanted to know if you waited or did it the next day.
Ambra Milton in my opinion wait a few days before you bleach it again .. because I bleached my hair twice in the same day & idk if it was my hair texture Bcz it was curly but I literally loss my curl pattern and my hair started feeling like strings & it was going to fall out .
I did the do roots first mistake many times. Tonight is the first time I have done it without covering my roots first. They are already white so left them alone. The rest is orange trying to turn white as I type this lol. I shall give it a while after then do a bleach bath to lift it more :)

just an FYI you said you used a bottle of toner a bottle.of 10v and a bottle or 20v developer because the ratio of 1 to 2 this is true however it means to go by the ounces so for instance one bottle of toner you would then use one whole bottle of developer for 4 ounces of developer total so in your case doing 1 out of 10 and 1 bottle of 20 what you should have done is used to ounces of 10 volume in 2 ounces of 20 volume 2 equal 4 ounces and mix that with one bottle of the toner which the toner is almost 2 ounces

Girl, my hair is a hot mess right now. The last time I dyed it was like 6 months ago and I dyed it red. Now my hair is part faded red, part light brown and the rest is shades in between. I'm about to bleach my hair and I'm hoping & praying it'll come out the same color (though I'll be happy even if it's 2 different colors... LOL). I'm using 30 volume developer and I'm dyeing it cotton candy blue. If you or anyone else reading this have tips for me, please let me know. BTW your hair is ON POINT
Love this color! I would like to try this. I have dark brown dyed hair (natural medium brown) very pale skin and blue eyes, similar to your coloring. A yellow blonde would look bad on me.

Great video just wanted you to know that when you mix a 20 and a 10 you are actually making a 30 vol. which is very high volume. In the video it seems you thought you were making it less strong. I just wanted you to know this for future or you could lose some hair! Great job though.
That's untrue. When you mix 20 volume with 10 volume you are diluting it to 15 volume. I have a hair salon, trust me! Haha

Tiffany Buffa u want to use color oops first but do a test strain on a part that is super damaged so u can see if ur hair will handle it
allyvo b it actually worked on my hair I had to use like two boxes of color oops and bleach and another hair dye box of blonde but I did it reguardless

I have natural dark virgin hair and 60% white hair. Its looks silver in the front. Can I use it to get silver blonde? I do not want to become orange.
Just a question: during your first bleach application, after you put the bleach on your ends and left it on for 15 minutes, did you wash that bleach out then apply the rest on your hair? Sorry i am just confused, i trust this so i just want to make sure!

Ahhhhh my hairdresser me is screaming because of the nice n' easy!!! It has metallic salts and it compromises the hair a ton. The color is beautiful though!

#1 In short because I studied Cosmetology and I'm very observant and I learned how to tell. But for your sake: #2 I noticed the shorter, stiffer and dull hair which results from bleaching around her bangs. #3 When you look closely said hair is not shiny and healthy-looking like the length. #4 Also, people who wear extensions usually look like they have lots of hair on the front and usually of a typical "standard" length because extensions come in certain popular lengths.

Hi Linz, you are totally correct Born Blonde from Clairol is the best and I love the color toner you got, your hair looks beautiful. I have the same color hair but is getting very dry , what treatment and conditioner do you recommend? Also I have not found a hair color line that gives a lot of shine to blonde colors. I even tried a Clear Demi with 9 vol I bought at Sally and did not shine on my hair either. Hope you can help.

Your hair looks amazing, I have dark brown hair, its dyed. But naturally it's a ash brown i have natural red tones in my hair which has made bleaching at home so much harder. Also in New Zealand we dont get that bleach u used.. if u could give me any advice that b great.. I'm wanting my hair more like hmm hard to explain I'll see if I can add a pic of what I'd like.

I have dyed red hair, without bleaching so it doesn't really go away, even if it's faded. I wanna go silver or like, light purple, but I don't know how bleaching out the red will go (I have natural brown hair). If you know how or if it's okay to bleach that out, could you comment back? Thank you! You're really pretty, especially as a brunette.
You should try using a colour remover first :) (be sure to choose the right type like if you used permanent dye then get one for permanent dye but if it was semi or Demi permanent use one for that type of dye)
Is it vegetable dye/semi-perm or demi/permanent dye? The later use a color remover with a sulfur base like Color Oops and shampoo the shit out of your hair, it WILL work wonders. However - IF you have a semi/veggie dye you will have to try to strip with the C treatment, etc.
question. so I want to use color oops, then I want to deposit an ash blonde into it, then I want to do highlights. I understand that I need to use the bleach for the highlights. after that if the highlights are still a little orangey, how do i use a toner? if i use toner all over will it only lighten up the highlights or will it effect the ash blonde as well?
What volume was the developer creme on the first round of bleaching?
I'm guessing she used the one in the box, it comes with one.

I most likely will, but for now I'm going to keep lighter colors so it's easier to remove as my hair gets healthy again. I really wanted to do a dark sea blue/green. Oh well :P that's what I get for dying so much hahaha

I may have missed it (and I've watched this video a couple of times, heh), but how long did you leave on the toner? I just bought T18 and am wondering how long I should leave it on. Looks like it'd be hard to check it as you wait b/c it's purple. I guess you just wipe some of it off with wet rag or something???
No longer than 15 minutes I believe is what I did. You can do the rag thing, but it may not completely come off. So it still may look purple:P
***** when I touch up my black roots I leave T18 on for 30 minutes on the freshly bleached regrowth and on the rest of the hair only 15-20 min in order.to get the white shade. If I rinse it too soon it doesn't tone the brass out of the well regrowth enough. Honestly it depends on how porous your hair is from bleaching it which varies. I am also not a hairdresser, this is just my experience. Also, FYI I had a wonderful dog once names Ponut.

Get Olaplex either online or beauty supply store. it will restorre the health of your hair from the inside to the surface of each strand.
