My friend was running a vet with scavenger for the 1% ammo and I have a gorg stubber with the range crit +5%, Charmed reload and Overwhelming fire. It felt like I could almost fire my gun for the entire mission.
At first, I was having trouble with gunlugger, finding Veteran more reliable for ranged dps. But then I realized that gunlugger is TF2 heavy that can slide while reved up, lol.
I tried all 3 builds... and personal preference was tanking ogryn with shield. Practically unkillable unless you get bound by specials, while killing everything with in reach with almost no damage taken. I once got surrounded by 4 crushers, 2 bulwark, several maulers, and shotgunners fought them alone during a wave... while allies were all laying, fled away, or dead. and all i did was spamming heavy attacks, which fills up my toughness 25 percent on every hit, while enjoying more than 50% damage reduction. +)Oh and it was damnation difficulty.

Just tried this build and I feel unstoppable, quite literally. Instead of using the shield and mace. I use the mkIII CLEAVER instead and it’s demolishes everything in my face! And now use the stubber and ripper in this build and it’s OP. So much fun! Think I might do a new build with bull rush or the other special ability. But be never used the grenade launcher or the rocket launcher. I heard they both do amazing damage! Gotta give it a try! Or even try the power mallet out, with special electrical ability like a shockwave! Either thanks for the build! I’d loads of fun!!!
Does the knife skin you have, have proper trinket placement? I play on xbox, and the trinkets always get merged inside the hilt, so I barely use it, minor significance to the vid but still very frustrating
I JUST tried this myself and loved every second of it mowing down everything in sight haha. While i do love the melee damage shovel ogryn, this is a close second. Either one is extremely capable of topping the scoreboard easily
@@jquikshot While it's currently outdated there is a mod for it, pretty easy to instal and it's client side so you can just keep playing the game without it interferring with anything

I've been having by far the most success with MkII rippergun, the burn stacks do so much damage, as long as you at least clip an elite with a shot or two they will die quickly.
My last, and by far most successful, run was using the Krourk paired with slab shield. One of the most fun runs I've done I used gunlugger skill path with Rumbler and good choppy knife. When he says "body parts incoming!" He ain't joking.
Curious, why max health over toughness? Despite Ogryn having a higher base health pool, what benefit would you get from having more health? Toughness at least regenerates and I would've thought that would get more value from it over time. Especially when paired with toughness damage reduction nodes on the skill trees.
Because all the buffs are percentage based, if an ogryn has 100 toughness and 500 hp, then a 10% boost to hp is way more of an increase than a 10% boost to toughness
Which heavy stubber do you think is better, ChocoB-san ? Gorgonum or Achylis ? I have a hard time deciding between those two.. By the way, nice gameplay as always
Gorgonum if you prefere slower fire rate and more carapace dmg, Achylis has great rate of fire and more reserve ammo but suffers against carapace a lot so bring a melee that can deal with that and you're golden. Its hard not to dump all of your ammo with the Achylis tho because of the fire rate :))
@@dmitrivologoslav Dodging doesn't give you s, it makes the enemies lose tracking and usually miss, so if you are not actually dodging out of the attack hitbox it will still hit you. Also timing is important
Escape the room, 40k version. Also, might have to try that one after all :) I would love to watch the whole thing but i started getting anxiety attacks around the 5 minute mark every time he left the room and then went straight back in. We all know it's cruel world but you're a big boy now...
i REALLLLY want a proper lmg for the vet with best case senario would be a lasgun one based on some cool looking old school german gun so i can do a krieg gunner build......

I just used the same build for a basic Kickback, the lucky bullet can give you a kind of "double barrel" shotgun, and then again if you are lucky aswell and time it properly with your action skill you got a 3 barrel shotgun, it slaps hard and can take down hordes with ease, that 25% reload speed while your action skill is active + rending + more reload speed when you hit 5 or more enemies is making a kickback build viable, tried it and it is a lot of fun.
Ogryn is definitely my favorite character. Even though it doesn't get as much love, with weapons or Cosmetics like the others. But I am extremely happy that you uploaded this video. Makes me want to play this build even more now. Knowing that I can actually do something that benefit the team.
Bro, wtf! I have like 6 dakkas, 2 of them Achylls, all with stability of 74 percent and higher yet they all recoil like a spastic parkinsons on a rollercoster. Can a brother get some help
What really makes me mad is the dude in chat going like "sry I don't know what my skills do". Brother, you shouldn't be playing auric maelstrom then. I don't understand the fixation of people playing top difficulty when they don't know how to play proper.
A ranged ogryn is an interesting build but it requires huge amounts of ammunition like the sentry gun from the Aliens movie. I tried this build for myself and it works fine but not at the herecy and the damnation difficulty levels as the ammunition boxes are extremely rare at those difficulty levels. Allied players also require ammo and they would take it faster than you, and as a result, you are low on ammo all the time😢
Achlys are is OP for some reason people really think it's under powered but it's so incredible and this is proof the achlys is far better then the Krourk and in some cases the Gorgonum.
It really isnt. I use the achylss often and the lack of range, stability, and damage against flak hinders it performance quite a bit. Even with rending its pathetic against carapace (tbf, all stubbers are). It is however my favourite w+m1 loudout, and while personally i think it needs some balancing its nothing major to gripe about.
@@sturmmagnunstein1008 use light em up, melts through crushers. Stability is better imo then Krourk which I think the Krourk has a major stability and general damage issue. But the Gorgonum smacks w light em up against carapace. Test it out on meat grinder.
kill times seem really fucking bad with this specific stubber. and it spreads like crazy too. probably best to just stick with the slow-firing stubber to nuke elites & specials, no?
What I’m wondering too! I like the fast fire rate stubber! But the slow fire rate one with extra damage is amazing too! Can’t decide between the too! He uses this one amazing in the video and makes me wonder!
This one has a metric ton of ammo, fire rate, and clip size, so it's the best one if you want to maximize gun uptime and horde clearing. It's definitely worse than the Gorgonum for the other Ogryn builds, but Gunlugger Ogryn really capitalizes on its strengths.
This game looks really cool but because I don't feel comfortable playing with others, I can't play it until they add solo. It's been 10 months since solo play was announced, the wait is painful.
you can play in private games by yourself if you didn’t know.(you will have the bots tho sadly) Worst case scenario i’m pretty sure some people have come up with mods to allow you to do it. WORST worst case scenario you could always just disable chat and play with randoms. Hope this helps a bit with your decision :)
@@Lost3mber unfortunately, private games will not launch unless there’s atleast 2 players. Using mods disables progression, so no loot or levels or whatever. Maybe I will have to just mute everyone and play multiplayer but having teammates feels like public speaking and I was trying to avoid that. Thank you for your reply though, I appreciate it

Unless you want to do high difficulty stuff. Then you'll think about it a lot when you get people that are really bad at coordinating lmao.
The machineguns are a bit stupid in this game. They are more close combat weapons, effective range is within 5 meters after that your bullets will circle around the enemies you are trying to hit and go towards the ceiling. You also have to race for the ammunition resupply and will most likely not reach the ammo box before someone can snatch it. Its nice to shoot the hordes or mutants/bosses and thats it.
Why do you spend so long fighting in one room at the start? The game throws a endless stream of enemies at you. It's a gauntlet. Gotta keep moving brother
If you ask why, it is because we always consider risk. Unless you have stealth or mobility abilities, it is too reckless to proceed without thinking while carrying a special spawn with no idea of the enemy's position in the area ahead. Well, either way, the only way to rescue your allies in this case is to destroy the enemy, which I think is tough.
This "keep moving" mentality won't get you that far on Auric Maelstrom. The game is nearly always throwing things at you, yes, but pushing forward when you know you have enemies following you is very very risky. It's always safer to take everything one step at a time in this game, because if you try to rush through without killing all the enemies first, eventually you hit something that stops you from going forward, and then all the enemies you are trying to push past catch up to you at the same time. This game ain't Left 4 Dead, going fast is almost always the worse strat.

with the heaviest stubber you also don't even need to brace. its hipfire is accurate enough for 90% of ranges.

burning achyllis has been nasty for tough things for me.
Achyllis/Achylls and Krourk have high ammo capacity while the Gorgonum has high damage.
