Samsonov was in his prime back then, or at least close to it. Yingchao was close to his prime too.

@3:43 Two netsies in a row shows Samsonov's precision looping skill. If they were loop drives, speed on the ball would have clipped the net then flew off the table. However, Samsanov only lifted to apply "just enough spin" on the ball so it could roll over the net then back on the table. By the way, I don't support Hao's reaction/attitude. He bitterly blamed bad luck but didn't respect the skill at all. As a professional player, this is unacceptable. Without the unfair pimples' tricky tactics, he won't even get near this level. If somehow/someday, we have rubbers and pimples playing in separate comp's then we'll see how good they (pimples) REALLY are.

      lol
then my question: why don't Samsonov plays netsies all the way from beginning till the end, I believe he can win over every of his opponents easily by then, since it's "precision looping skill" that you mentioned

@@tolinolito There is a very fine wrist adjustment between a loop and loop drive. The former generates mostly spin (player's touch) but the latter combines a forward drive & spin (say, 70/30 when players need more speed to beat the opponent's reaction, as needed). My point here is to admire Samsanov's skill (touch). If he applied more drive (forward force) or even spin, the ball would have clipped the top of the net then bounced way off the table. Getting a netsie is pure luck but climbing over like this (twice) is respectfully fine touch.

@@wingtolau6553 Its not unfair if its legal...lol. Just like you have the option of choosing rubber, others have the option of choosing pips. But i do enjoy upsetting people like you while using medium pips on FH and LP on BH. The satisfaction i have when i see their upset faces is priceless lol.

In fact, Hou is not complaining or blaming about bad luck... He has a habit that when he just win or lose a point, he would speak to himself about why he win or lose the point. Many table tennis players have this habit, for example, Ma Long.
