As a British person it's strange but wonderful when (e.g.) sales staff in a shop will commonly use the F word without thinking about it. But it's never gratuitous, it's just used as strong accentuator.

I just bought a 18248 day date bark finish 36mm it’s beautiful and mint condition. I plan on getting 118239 white gold 36mm next. You could have both watches for the price of one new 40 mm day date. Makes more sense to me. Also down the road I would buy a day dateii 41 mm yellow gold. I like the fact that all three are discontinued as well. I don’t know why people complain and say the 36 mm too small it’s really not it’s very classy looking they’ve been around since the 50s as well. If you have the funds you can have the 36 mm watches and you can have the bigger version watches so you have the best of both worlds?🤷‍♂️

Hi. Loved the video. I am considering buying a 1990 18238 day date with white dial. Full B&P. However the watch comes on an oyster style clasp rather than the concealed crown clasp. Is this potentially right for the period or has it been retro-fitted? It is in A1 condition and looks to have seen little wear. The green sticker on the back of the case is really unfaded and legible. Was it possible to specify with the gold oyster clasp in 1990?
    Any help would be appreciated

I thought exact same thing in 1998 (when you were 5? lol) I bought a bark finish prez for $6500, because I was convinced that gold would increase in value, and the watch was cheap compared to stainless daytona which was $9k. Gold has tripled in price, but the watch is still worth $6500.

"Colored gold" is not a "precious metal" and the only gold that is "fine" enough to be considered a "precious metal" is too soft to make any jewelry out of and is used to alloy with "semi-precious" and base metals to create "colored gold" and other gold alloys to get the "pros" of gold when alloyed and "diluted" with metals that typically do more for gold by eliminating or at least mitigating its "cons". Which are all big problems when using gold "pure" enough to be "precious". Which creathes the unique opportunity to be ably to buy something pure and precious but that must be diluted and polluted to be "useful" for manufacturing and therefore becomes more "valuable" while becoming progressively "cheaper" to purchase but which ceases being "gold".
