No, she genuinely likes him. Just because she wanted her planet and herself saved does not mean she doesn't care for Harry. I mean look at everything she has done for him. Did you not happen to see the look in her eyes when she put her hand on his chest and saw his reaction. She cares for him, but shes hurt by him. He lied to her.

It would be more satisfying had Harry taken a bullet for her and told her that he did it because he considered her his friend. Then she cried and apologized and said they're still friends and ultimately convinced him not to destroy the earth. And kiss would be better than a hug (come on, they're perfect for each other.) This would make it more satisfying. I felt like this final episode is a bit rushed. Regardless, the humours of this show is incredible. I love it. I'd murder SyFy if they dare to cancel this show.
Yes, Alan is hugely excellent as the alien (the force is with him) but the whole cast (especially Alice Wetterlund and Corey Reynolds who have the best roles and do the most with them) is beyond any reasonable expectation...and THE WRITERS! Someone needs to bake those writers some cookies, or something. At least a few times in every episode something happened or someone had a line that nearly made me snort a piece of popcorn outta my nose. I’ll leave you with that little gem of a visual. As the show slowly progresses, he understands humans more. That "alienated" part, that wanting to fit in and be welcomed all started with Asta. She even said you're more drawn to be human than that of an alien. She herself has also felt like an "alien". In the season end finale, his finger reacted to his alien technology, almost like he is becoming human, and being human and alien is so much more than a word or specie. Its the connection. As an alien he lacks emotion which is the building blocks of humanity. To what was weakness to them, was strength to humans. That's the key to their relationship progressing. When talking to Dead Harry, he was talking about Love and how he felt towards his wife, when the Alien Harry asked to describe that, alien Harry had felt this. Love. The Love dead harry was describing was not friendship Love, but being In Love. Partnership. And that connection. Asta built that bridge for Harry to cross. Again, she has said herself. She always felt like an Alien. They would be a great couple, that Harry needs as a lesson. Partnership. Which is something his specie authentically lack.If the directors build it right, they can in my mind with no doubt, would be my favorite TV couple, for the mere deeper meaning of their Connection, that being In Love is not a weakness but the epitome of Strength and the progression of humankind as beings and who we choose to carry our offspring with and why. Connection

The whole, "I don't see them as a couple," feels racially motivated. 🙃 Why can't a Native American woman be the love interest? Why can't we see an interracial relationship on screen? One that isn't set in the past. Why can't we have a monster/human relationship? When there's lots of Vampire/Human love stories, especially when Wolf Like Me and The Shape of Water, exist?? All I'm saying is friends can change to lovers and it's usually better when it's built toward it, and it's cannon in the source material. So, if they don't get together on the show, that's racist. 💀
