I used to see Ed at Makapuu, and really got to speak with him at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall. It was such a pleasure. He is a "gentleman". I miss him and what he did for Hawaii.
Back then, you had to stay up till the 10 o'clock hour on Friday nights to catch filmed replay of the Wednesday night matches at the old Civic Arena. Then you got to watch the interviews Ed would do with the favorites and hated wrestlers back then. Johnny Berand, Nef Maiava, Ripper Collins and his corner man Beuregard. There was Nick Bockwinkle and others that I've forgotten. Miss those days of old TV in Hawaii :)
I lived on Hickam AFB from 1964-1968 as Dad was a military pilot. I was introduced to Hawaiian Rasslin from Channel 9 KGMB...and then me and my brothers were blown away to see the same wrestlers on Waikiki Beach not far from Diamond Head.....I have so many memories and stories of Ed Francis and his stable of wrestlers too. I say one thing ...Ed looks absolutely great at 86 when this was filmed. Aloha

A great interview with a legend of wrestling
I really love this man! He was one of my favorite. I got to talk to him at Enterprise Rent a Car.
